I get that it can be very frustrating to see the same question over and over again. Especially if the answer is right there in front of their eyes.
I don't think there's a problem asking or telling people to read the MotD. As _Cherry_ said, the mods put in a lot of effort to ensure it stays up to date and contains all the relevant information.
For me personally, I just don't think the attitude is needed. I'm a big boy, I'm not offended by being told to read the F anything. The fact that we are all, for the most part, adults here and shouldn't get too butthurt about this kind of thing is moot.
Even if its partly in jest, even if its totally warranted because ******* the information is right there, the hostility and attitude aren't necessary for the channel to function.

Personally, to weigh in, I'm all for people making focused channels as well for these sorts of things, such as BMTR. But by the same token, I only really recommend it for people comfortable (like me) with having multiple chat windows open at once. Don't leave one group to join the other... THAT'S where we're weakening ourselves with this petty fighting.
A lot of valid points for both sides, I reckon.

Hey, can anyone tell me how I can find out the overall shifts in population of the server and of a channel?
I keep seeing folks referring to how the server and BMT are losing people, so I figure these statistics must be available because surely these respectable and trustworthy folks wouldn't be making **** up just to try to support their side of the argument.
Anyway, if anyone has an issue with the moderating of BMT of Champion, feel free to send me a tell/PM. I'll care. A lot. No, really.

By no means am I saying that you can't or shouldn't make/promote a channel. Just trying to point out some things for consideration as the OP tries to recruit people for the channel so that they have better results.
