Unfortunatly doing this seems to have had an unexpected side effect... at least I assume it's cos of this, not 100% sure. My laptop was bought in NZ so has the standard US keyboard. My new PC was bought here, with a UK keyboard and the buttons are messed up.

I'm guessing your binds would be stuffed unless you were using a standard US keyboard - no matter what you chose. That said, it's not difficult to get a US keyboard... and you can change your settings easily enough in Windows.

Nah, it's not quite that simple.
Specifically when trying to enter [ as a keybind I get nothing
When trying to enter ] in I get [ and # gives me ]
\ also doesn't work and I didn't find a key that will give me it or #
All these keys work fine in the chat and in windows, it's only with reference to binds. I think somethink in the install sets is as US cos thats what my laptop was and when I copy the files over that comes too.

have you tried writing it in notepad and C&P? I often do that simply because I can't ever remember the binds themselves

I wish the EU community would just stop playing, all of us.
Then they'd notice.
There would be a stateside transfer within a week.
It isnt fair we pay the same as the americans yet have less slots, less fellow players and always get blunt side of the stick.
But because the EU side is still profitable (it must be hence it is still up) they don't care.
If we all stopped playing, and paying our subs. Then they would simple close the EU servers and forget about the EU side.

No.
Look at what they did with City of Hero (the short lived korean release of the game).
The servers wheren't profitable enough and they gave all the remaining players after a certain date a server transfer to america, a one year gametime pass and they could keep their characters.

US competitions will never be open to EU players due to territory rules and regulations - check
Never is a long time in mmos, they may not intend to but they've shown they're not beyond changing their minds and sorting out the obsticles that made it 'impossible' to do it. I'm pretty sure power customisation fell into the never category at some point as well.

Well yes and no i think in that regards. Think that if it was as easy as just switching a switch, then they'ld do it instantly and stop this feeling we all tend to have.
It cant be nice for them to constantly hear us complain to them nonstop [think we will nonstop until the server lists merge and all thats left to complain about is timezone difference!] and therefore i do believe a merge WILL happen one day. However i also believe it wont be anytime soon, think they would want to see how GR makes our servers first before attempting to do a merger of sorts.

We've seen an increase in players since I17 went live. I'm hoping GR will continue that trend. The real question is this: How high will it be and what will NCSoft do to make the EU paying customers feel their £/e are being appreciated?

Following the post I made on the thread about the newly announced pre-order bonuses for GR I thought I would say here how annoyed I am that developer time has been put into content that the EU servers won't have any access to.
I had made my peace with not getting boxset but I feel this has now made a definite gap between NA and EU servers in terms of possible available content.

no doubt we will get it in a u gotta pay extra for this item booster again! When the whole of NA get to purchase it with there boxed sets with there extra goodies! im realli considering trying another MMO one where there isnt such a devide. plus if i need to reformat my comp again i have to download 6 years worth of patches etc because we cant even have new copies of the game distributed to us dev you suck big time and black pebble you are **** you have contributed next to nothing and probabily getting paid for the ideas you have been getting from these forums sort it out or u will see a lot of people jump ship

City of Heroes is unique and it is a shame that it is consistently being ruined for the European players.
Why are the Americans always first?
I know their player base is bigger and it is an American game, but we pay the same monthly fee and get less player slots and now with the pre order bonus items we even get less content.
I don't care that a developer makes a thread "notifying" us about our concern being recognized. We can't do anything with that.
Im really looking forward to War Witch's method of increasing EU side players but frankly I don't expect that anytime soon.
With the money NCSOFT makes, and they make enough, it shouldnt be hard to design one global server for the game.
