EU gets shafted - AGAIN!

Well, it's a bit different. England has three years between finishing Primary and starting GCSEs, whereas Scotland only has two years between finishing Primary and starting Standard Grades, but has an extra year of Primary. I think that's how it works, anyway... But I think Scotland also starts school a year earlier, at age 4 rather than age 5?

That's worrying – that either you can't get, or perhaps more precisely are unable to give – any kind of answer. It's concerning because either marketing or publishing or the “Faceless Ones” aren't allowing that information out.

Look at it this way: If our concerns are unfounded, then why not just say “It's cool, everything's fine.” If everything is fine, why have the Faceless Ones not allowed that to be said? For me, it's telling that you cannot say that, and chocolate & kittens are all very fine, but it rather deflects from the point that we have been feeling very neglected. For me at least, your post has confirmed, rather than allayed, my fears that the EU is about to go the way of Korea.

I do appreciate that in any business there are things that must be dealt with internally before being permitted into the wider public domain but the impression I'm getting here isn't a positive one.

I sincerely hope I'm wrong because I love this game – and I love how passionate you guys who bring the game to us are for it, and for the community – but that doesn't mean we're going to be ok, and nobody – not even you – have been able to tell us that we are.

agreed is there any ETA on when we will hear anything???

Hmm. Are they shiny beads?

(I have to say the thought of Europeans being placated with beads and glass pearls by Americans rather appeals to my sense of poetic irony.)

Heh.. Yea.
Only from where I come from... we came with longboats, axes and mead (Taking land, living there, settling down there and become part of the place, establishing fair traderoutes and yes... occationally pillaging.)
But it is a little irony Leif. However in this game, its bad custom service.
The Devs do everything and they go that extra mile, but those people with the authority and power of decision still remain hidden....
In their dark room, around a table there are seated X men and woman. They hold the games future and specially custom service, server power and marketing in their hands. One of them sits at the end of the table, even his or is it her's subordinates cannot see this person. On its lap there is the white cat...

and the rest you know
Come on Mr. X, talk to us. I promise we wont bite (much)... Just joking, we just want a little news and hopefully that the little white light that was at the end of the tunnel (and which War Witch brought) is rays of sunlight...
and not a heavy train transport that cannot stop before it runs us over.

now we're just distracting ourselves hehe

They wont even need real beads. They can just get WW to pop in an say "beads!" and we'll just wander off talking about beads.

I think they're very much focused on GR right now, so it might be hard to get them to turn their attention any place else until after July.
Although, if there's any server list merge being planned for the GR launch, then you'll probably hear about it soon-ish.

If that's the case and our concerns aren't addressed by then, there'll probably a few less subscribers to actually worry about.

I thought it was a totally valid point to say that I think they're pretty much only focused on GR right now and aren't so likely to come back with any answer until after it's released
It seems to be pretty tough to get marketing to say anything at any time, so when there's a major expansion coming up, I think it'd be just about impossible to get anything out of them

Of course if they wait until after GR to say

"Thanks for the money you just spent, btw Euro accounts are all closed now."

Then well the legal and PR back lash will probably finish the company.

Don't be silly. Any ruckus on this side of the pond won't even make it across the pond to North America, and NCSoft's main market and cash cow is Korea. As an (at best) tertiary market for a tertiary product, we're not exactly protesting from a position of strength here.

I was referring to the City of Heroes part of NCSoft, can't imagine that bad publicity will be that nice for NCSoft America either, given that their WoW killer... didn't, the joke that was Tabula Rasa, Auto Assault also.

Closing a branch, straight after releasing an expansion pack, no way it'll look good.

Hence the reason our cynicism and scepticism is at an all-time high. To be honest, when does anyone ever care about the minority.

population of the US: 308 millions
population of the EU: 501 millions
population of North America: 528 millions (islands included)
population of Europe: 731 millions

Irrelevant in this context unless the demographics of both continents have the same percentage of game players.
