I hear that! The noise, I mean. Very annoying! Only one of my characters has TP, and I think they will be the only one, useful, but ultimately annoying in many ways!
I think the distance should be set to how much Endurance you have, so for example it takes 10 End to go 100yds (these are figures I'm pulling out my a*s, not sure what the actual cost is), you can travel the whole map (clicking the loc on map menu) and if you have enough End, say 1 mile = 1000 End, it drains that amount. Save having to spam accross the sky and inevitably hit a wall and fall 50 stories!

It is my understanding that the forced manual clicking is the balance for the fastest travel power in the game.
By removing it, you would be unbalancing it.
So I'm guessing that you were somehow ignorant to the fact that you actually posted this in the City Life forum, and that your thread was forcefully moved to the Suggestions and Ideas forum?

Tripp: If you bind Teleport to shift+leftclick, that gets rid of the manual clicking already, and everyone does this. I thought the balancing factor was the Endurance cost - you don't run out of Endurance with Flight, Super Jump, or Super Speed, but you do with Teleport, even with endurance reductions slotted in it and Stamina. Is it not a big enough balancing factor that one might plummet, land in a spawn, and die, unless they spend another power choice on Hover? The only difference between the shift+leftclick bind and the proposed "let us autofire" is that with the latter you would get a targeting thingee.
Besides, having manual clicking as a balancing factor because Teleport is the fastest doesn't exactly make sense. Considering that Teleport is - and should be - the fastest, should the balancing factor be "use the game mechanics to slow it down?" Because that's what manual clicking is. I'm certain that it's because of this annoyance that nobody I meet uses Teleport, and that Teleport is generally considered an inferior travel power.

And while TP could use some tweaking, IMO this suggestion isn't it.
Check out the Repeat Offenders network of SGs! You'll be glad you did.
I got one, lets make it like CO, where you just put a button and you go in teleport mode... for 5 seconds no one can see you, but you have fly and go fast like superspeed : P

(if you've used the shift+leftclick bind) you don't get the targeting thingee, which is annoying.

/bind lshift "powexec_name teleport"
With this bind, you hit left shift once, your targeting reticle comes up, and you click where you want to go.
Note: If you time it right, you can actually hit the lshift again right before you teleport. Then when you come out of the teleport, you will already have the targeting reticle up for the next hop.
Having Vengeance and Fallout slotted for recharge means never having to say you're sorry.
Except that a decent amount of utility is added in being able to shorten the distance you travel, as well as being able to regain endurance on your trip. Your way could have a person radically over-shooting their mark, and without any endurance left to turn around right away.

So when you select a location too far, your Target will go red, as when you selesct to TP out of range now, advising you do not have enough End to travel that far. I think the fact TP has a range within a City map is ridiculous.
I should be able to bring up map, activate Teleport and place a marker anywhere in that city to travel to, eg:Quest Entrance (providing the End I have covers it.)
And why exactly should you be able to do that? It seems to me there are 2 reasons why TP works the way it does - 1) you can only teleport to somewhere you can see (no blindly teleporting into a bunch of GMs) and 2) the hop-and-stop approach is what slows it down to a relative speed to the other travel powers. If I could open a window and click where I want to go, what reason would I have to take SS or SJ? (Fly gives you Z-axis control so that is cool enough already).
Personally I would like to see a little less end-drain, or a little more range out-of-the-box, but it's very workable as it is. If you want something that requires less effort, take Fly (90% of my toons use fly, only a few use TP).
Fair point there blind teleporting is a one way ticket to becoming one with the inanimate object! I think at least a better starting range to work with and a little less End cost.
Can't they just do it like the targeted super jump that they had in The Matrix Online? When you click on Teleport you get a birdview over the city and a marker that you place in the accepted range (longer range then what we have now). When your marker is set the characters TP's there. IMO endurance use for travel powers is a waste.
It's a travel power and they get you around but that's it. It's not like with super jump you jump 5 billion miles in one single jump and you don't fly in the same speed as a stealth aircraft. Why would you have to spend endurance in order to use the travel powers which are not really awesome anyway? It's just as redundant as the fact that the boxes you have to destroy in certain missions takes more then one hit to destroy. What is the bloody purpose of having a box that takes 3-5 hits instead of 1 single hit!? To quote The Angry Video Game Nerd; "- IT'S A**!!!"
I'm sure all you teleporters agree that as a travel power, Teleport is fiddly: even with binds, you either have to keep pressing a key over and over, or (if you've used the shift+leftclick bind) you don't get the targeting thingee, which is annoying. What I'd really like when porting across a big map is the option to have the teleport targeting circles pop up again as soon as I come out of a port. And if Teleport only could autofire, that's exactly what we'd be able to do.
So... why can't I put teleport on autofire? That would make teleporting to outdoor locations way, way easier, and I would absolutely love it. Set-autofire-click-click-click-click-there! I would still use the shift-leftclick bind for inside missions, and porting around in combat, but not having the target location visible outdoors is annoying.
