'kay, thanks.

[Edit: didn't feel the need to expound or provide a dissertation on a desire to have a stealthed out hatchet freak, but thanks for the negative rep anyway]

[Edit 2: Thanks!]

I was playing Vampire: The Masqurade Bloodlines, and one of the weapons you can get is a Fire Axe. If you go into sneak mode, sneak up behind someone, and hit attack, you plunge it into their back for an instant kill.

I want to be able to do that in City. Fire Axe Murderin' FTW! Signed!

It's already bad enough they got broadsword :/....now scrappers have no set all to themselves...Stalkers need nothing more!

Let's push for that 'M' rating!

If the AS animation was like an epic head-cleaving like swing, I would seriously roll one just for that.

If it was a stab...meh.

I thinm, the AS animation would have the avatar bending back slowly until the head of the axe was resting on the ground behind them, and their face was looking up at the sky, and then they'd strike

Not to mention the fact that every AT with a melee set gets Energy Melee except for Scrappers.

But sure, I'm down with the Assassin's Chop.

I got a good laugh out of this suggestion.

As precedent has been set with broadsword, I think we have a winner here.

Here's hoping for mace as well for: Assassin's Cleave.

For AS you heave the axe over your shoulder breathe in deep and swing it down hard.

As for archetypes having unique sets please see Issue 12.

Yes... I've always wanted to play one of those hulking axe-wielding, mask-wearing killers that seem to appear from nowhere.

/sighed.

It's 106 miles to Grandville, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing faceless helmets

... Hit it ...

How many unique sets are there anymore? Other than MM Primaries, Ice Armor and Ice Melee are the only ones I can think of. And a lot of Ice Melee is shared with Blaster and Dominator secondaries.

A good (but not typical) axe-wielding AS would be the scene from American Psycho where Patrick Bateman kills Paul Allen to the sounds of Huey Lewis and the News, lol (would post a link but that would be a definite no-no).

Another fine example of Axe Stalkering can be found in 'Wrong Turn' (the let's-hide-up-a-tree scene).

On that, I share your angry face. (I do want an Energy Melee Scrapper)

And?

Every AT with a melee set gets Fire Melee except Stalkers.
Every AT with a melee set gets Claws except Tankers.
Every AT with a melee set doesn't get Ice Melee except Tankers.

Have I made my point? But the cool thing about Stalkers is whatever melee set they get proliferated will be awesome. They already have all the 'meh' ones.

If they get Fire Melee they'll most likely get Fiery Aura and BU+FE+AS would be killer.

If they get Ice Melee they'd be able to sleep everything and assassinate in pure safety.

If they get Axe/Mace, well...here's the thread...

I'm all for this idea as long I get one thing:

The Assassin's Strike must include the club being brought back behind the head in a very cartoon-ish manner... Think Daffy Duck, when trying to nail Bugs Bunny with a baseball bat from behind a corner: leaning back, back, back, baaaaack, and then- WHAM!

He hits a bear.

...you want the AS to turn your target into an angry bear?

If Stalkers got Axe, then I would like to direct folks to the request for /nin for scrappers in my signature.

While I wouldn't be against Battle Axe for Stalkers, I would kindly suggest that Scrappers are higher up on the queue for that particular powerset, being more standard fighters. So if we're proliferating Battle Axe to Stalkers, please let's pass it through Scrappers first. That would be very much appreciated.

As far as an Assassin's Strike goes, I very much do not want to see anything silly, cartoony or absurd. We already have the Popeye windup punch in Super Strength, we don't need more. It obviously can't be a stab, since axes aren't stabbing weapons, and I don't think it needs to be some huge, over-the-top stab since an Assassin's Strike is supposed to attack the vitals, not just hit really hard. Hitting really hard doesn't need you to be hidden. And also remember that Battle Axe is one-handed.

For my money, I'd pick something akin to what 9Dragons had, which is to say a strike that gets "stuck" in the target with your character pulling to unwedge the axe. Obviously, not all enemies are of the right size to wedge into them, but since most Assassin's Strikes stab or punch air anyway, I don't think it really matters.

Wow; I put up suggestion that people refer to as game breaking or beyond code and my rep doesn't budge... for a whole six months.

I put up a suggestion that holds little significance and it goes up and down like a roller-coaster; in one day, lol. The last neg being "...cos that's stealthy."

...well, frankly, it is. It's that kinda stealthy, abrupt trauma that gave us 80s Slasher-core and has given more guts to heroine-driven vengeance flicks (Did I mention legions of Juggalos?).

Trust me, trinkets like kitchen knives and sickles can get the adrenaline going too... but nothing says, "BOO!" to a group of frightened kiddies like being splattered in the face with the blood (and possibly, innards) of one of their playmates; courtesy of an impromptu thunking of some form of [over-sized] hatchetry.

Heck, a BA Stalker would go back into hide solely because the rest of the vics would be running too fast to keep track of where he got off to:

"*huff, puff* We lose him?"
"I think so, *breathe*, I don't se-" THWACK!!

Stealth isn't all about Metal Gear pansying or Siphon Filter egg-shelling (or even getting a booty-call on your office phone so your wife doesn't find out creeping); sometimes it's just about catching a bunch of horny teens with their pants down.

We need Stone Melee Stalkers. Assassin's Boulder ftw.

It would certainly be more stealthy than the occasionally requested "Chainsaw Melee 4 Stalkrs plz!".

I don't really play stalkers, but I'm all for anything that gets more proliferation to happen. I don't think any sets should be unique to any particular AT. Give me every set on every AT its compatible with.

Aye when picking AT play style should be the deciding factor not what sets you can't use.
