Will there be a "State of the Game" address ??

I have never seen things go this long without a comment from the Development team. We know everyone is geeked for Going Rogue but there are lots of little bugs that are still not fixed like the custom attack animations with shields not playing the correct animation like they did before the last patch.

Will there be a round of Power Proliferation before Going Rogue. Electric Controllers was mentioned at Hero Con but nothing since.

Will there be another issue before Going Rogue is released at all ??

What will be PC specs be to run " Ultra Mode "?

Lots of questions going forward but very little info.

I am excited about CoH but as a 60+ month player who has seen a lot of friends stop playing I am very concerned. I know many will come back once GR releases.

What is being planned to attract new customers ??

Just thoughts on CoH.

The hard things I can do--- The impossible just take a little bit longer.

If numbers are so much more important than a teammate who is fun to play with, forget about the game altogether and go play with a calculator instead. -Claws and Effect-

The Development forums do have a little bit more info on Going Rogue and possible ideas for pre-GR. I believe there is even a thread dedicated to discussing the video card recommendations.

I glanced through that area before, but I decided to stay away from worrying about specifics until time got closer... just in case things change at all.

The thing is the game is now in compation, so any info they give out can be used agenst it. There trying to keep ther plans safe form copy cats and the like.

At the moment there is a number of Dev post about what Ultra mode will be best run on its not to crazy high end.

Just keep in mind that alot of there time is beeing pressed into GR atm alos we just coming out of the event storm that starts in holloween and ends about valintines in that string of time patching and updats are slow do to the dev's not wanting to mess up there work on the events.

There is but one truth. Time is limited. ndnw its over

But some of this already has been (somewhat) answered.

Depends on if things like Ultra mode (which could be released separately) are ready and how *long* they're ready before GR is finalized. "Possible, but we don't know."

Impact seems to be mostly focused on video cards, though "you should have a decent system." (paraphrased.) Minimum spec won't cut it. nVidia cards were already listed by Positron, and ATI cards seemed to be in testing. Finalized specs not yet listed.

Or the direct quote:

Quote:
After demoing the Ultra-mode at HeroCon, one of the most frequently asked questions we have been receiving is “what are the video cards you recommend to get the most out of Ultra-mode?” With the holiday season coming up, we asked the programmers in charge of implementing the features of Ultra-mode what they would recommend. We would like to forward this information on to you so you can better work on your holiday shopping lists. If you are looking to spend under US$100, then an NVidia 9800 GT is your best bet. For AMD (ATI/Radeon), we don’t have enough of these cards at this price point to get you good data. This would be the minimum card for enabling all the features, only at reduced quality settings. If you are looking to spend between $100 and $200, the Radeon HD 4890 and GeForce GTX 260 will do you well. We don’t have numbers from the Radeon 57xx series yet to verify if that is better or worse though. This would end up somewhere in the middle of Ultra-mode quality. Finally if you are going to spend over $200, the GeForce GTX 285 is an excellent choice. We don’t have numbers from the Radeon 58xx series yet. This would be able to run Ultra-mode with the quality maxed out (except we have no data on Anti-aliasing, so caveat emptor when it comes to that specific feature). Note: This is based on our current internal testing and might change by the time Going Rogue is released. Also, a video card is not the ONLY thing you should take into consideration. Your PC having a decent processor and memory will also enhance your performance. As we continue to test and get more information available we will update you. I hope this helps, and happy holidays!

I think at this point we just have to grit our teeth and be patient. The marketing dept has a timeline for releasing info. They all know we're dying to learn the stuff the OP talked about. If War Witch tried to give a state of the game address right now, it'd probably sound much like that lame (sorry, but it was) interview she gave to an MMO website in which she basically said "the players want content, and boy let me tell you we got content coming in GR, yesseree. It's such contenty content, you can't believe how chock full of content our new content is." Don't get me wrong, I don't blame her; that's just the type of non-statement statement that she was forced to make because she can't yet talk about details.

Even Castle, normally second only to BaBs for forum participation recently said:

I know there is some good info being released sooner, rather than later, but what it is and when, I can't say.

You haven't given us an address, so we have nothing to go on.

Friends! Forumites, kindred gamers, lend me your monitors!

The state of the game is GOOD! The subscription numbers are steady, with minor dips and rises which are expected in this medium. Players are running task forces, engaging in raids, teaming, soloing, Rping, PvPing, farming, marketing and more! They're tweaking their builds or making new alts... In short, it is a good time to be a City of Heroes player!

Yes, these may seem like trying times. There is a new Superhero MMO on the market with at least one more on the way. And there's the new Star Trek MMO which invariably has enticed fans of super-hero games... but we're still here! And better than ever! The increased competition has forced the dev team to go into overdrive in developing new content that we're all waiting to hear more about... and when we do hear about it, the majority of us will LIKE what we see and hear and will embrace whatever changes come our way!

Remember Power Customization and how it came as a COMPLETE surprise? This is proof that the devs may very well have awesomeness unfortold hiding within their offices, ready to kick our butts and leave us begging for more! So fret not at the lack of news. Just know that when the Devs are free to speak, it will be awesome. In the meantime, we must be patient. Our patience has been rewarded in the past, and it will continue to be, both now and in the months and years ahead.

So there you have it, the state of the game.

... Now if you'll excuse me, I need to go watch my Night Elf dance...

That's not so bad. I think another game out there got Alabama, and they aren't handling it so well.

... I think that link qualifies as a whiskey tango foxtrot...

then I read some of the links in the paragraph about that item... and those are actually worse / better. I can't decide.

AFAIR, the State of the Game address typically happens around the game's anniversary in April. At least that's when Posi likes to do them. In 2008, Lighthouse posted a State of the Game address in January, but it hasn't been done since.
