I Am Satisfied

to TO THE END!
Villains are those who dedicate their lives to causing mayhem. Villians are people from the planet Villia!
Agreed
GG, I would tell you that "I am killing you with my mind", but I couldn't find an emoticon to properly express my sentiment.

MOAR info so I can fantasize.
Agreed....
So, uh... Could we shut up about "Going Rogue information" please? The game is already good stuff. If it's not good enough for you, then you're some kind of foolish glutton who feels the need to pay a subscription fee just to whine about nothingness. It's not cute.

At any rate, I think you're incorrectly labeling people by calling them "foolish gluttons." I'm happy that you're wholely satisfied with the game at the moment, but you also have to respect that other players have different experiences than you. There can be a (nearly) innumerable number of areas where your experiences could vary:
* Server - Higher or lower population
* Friends - Some have more than others
* Playstyle - PUG? Group with friends? TFs? Missions? Street sweep? Alter? Single character? PvP? RP? AE?
* Goals - Badges? PvP? Power gaming (AV soloing, etc)?
Etc. Your "needs" may be more fufilled with CoX's current offerings than others. That's fine, but that doesn't invalidate someone else's different perspective. The features that have been announced (but not expanded on) for GR very well suit other's interests more.
Personally, I've seen a lot of what this game has to offer - not all, but a lot. I think it's a great game, I've been subscribed to it longer than any other MMO, even leaving my account active during periods where I didn't play it much because I knew I'd be back - it always just a matter of when. Having said that, I really wish I knew more about GR. I'm not a heavy alter (although I have more in this game than any other), but I only have a few characters that I play frequently. Having new challenges / routes of advancement is something I really crave.
That does not make me a fool for staying subscribed to the game while still desiring more information.
Having said that, that doesn't mean I think people should be allowed to be belligerent about wanting more information - just that the desire for more information in and of itself isn't bad.

We'll get more info. Constantly asking for it won't change that or make it come out sooner.

DoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoM!!!!!!!!
Don't I know you???
I don't think the merit of wanting more information was ever in question. It's just the irritation of having a new "So where's my Going Rogue information?" thread made every day is eventually going to start wearing on people. Even the people who actually want information. It's like a car alarm outside you window - not really all that big a deal, until you realise it's been blaring for the last couple of hours and it's actually getting pretty annoying.

I really want to know when Ultra Mode is coming out. I'm practically ready to freak out over it. I then realise I'm about freak out, and go do something restful instead.
Like headshotting Ghouls and beating up raiders with melee weapons...restful things...
What? I like Fallout, ok?

I hit upon some really good writers (Brent Weeks, Eric Flint, C.C.Finley) that helped me back off. At the same time I can't blame the people who do want more.
I don't think the current game is the problem, or lack of fun in it, I think it is the tease given with NO follow up. The marketing dept for this game really really stinks. It dosen't help that we have the friendliest, and most helpful Devs in the MMO world. We are all pretty sure they want to tell us, I bet they are chomping at the bit to tell, or show us how cool the things they have been working on are. We are also pretty sure marketing will not let them.
I think that is what builds some of the resentment seen as much as pure desire to know more. This goes back on them for teasing, not on the player base for being angry about the lack of follow up. I am sure we can all (or most of) look back on life where someone got you excited about something and didn't follow through. I know I can.

* I didn't think the game was good enough. (I think it's a great game, but that doesn't mean there isn't room for improvement - which GR promises to have.)
* We're gluttons for punishment, paying for a game we don't enjoy.
* We're whiners.
It may not have been the intention of the OP, but that's how it struck me; the arguement could have been phrased a lot better, imo.
Look, I understand the irritation of endless "moar GR info, plzkkty" posts. I also understand that it's not going to change just because a thread asked told people to STFU; all it does is add more fuel to the fire.
Wow, I thought I was the only one here not totally excited for GR.
Don't get me wrong, I think an expansion to the game is a great idea. But the thing with me is that I've only been playing this game for about a year, and thanks largely to Alt-itis, there is a lot of content (especially at higher levels) that I haven't gotten to yet. So while new content is always a plus, the fact is that there's still a lot of old content for me to do. Unless my friends talk me into getting it sooner (which could easily happen), I'll probably wait a good while before getting GR.
However, I know my perspective would be a lot different were I a 5 year vet (or even a 2+ year vet). I know there are a lot of players here who still love the game but haven't had the thrill of experiencing new content for a long while--if I were in their shoes, I'd be chomping at the bit for GR and any news about it too. So I don't begrudge others their enthusiasm.

Call it spin if you will, but this could have been said a lot better.

Oh, it was intended to provoke; let's not fool ourselves.
I dont mind the threads as long as they entertain me and dont hide all the other good threads.
@Damz Find me on the global channel Union Chat. One of the best "chat channels" ingame!
I have historically found myself invariably "ok.. the upcoming issue sounds ok but it's not making me drool in lust" but when I do start getting into the meat and drink of it every issue since I8 through to I13 have really been fantastic. I14 was honestly a bit meh for me, the Architect doesn't really move me. I thought I15 would suck but although it's not really worthy of being called an Issue in its own right, I love the TF and SF. I16 I'm blase about - it's a nice to have but that's it.
I am thinking GR sounds ok but I'm honestly not getting that excited yet, because a) I don't even know what the hell's in it, b) I dunno when it's gonna be out and c) I don't have the foggiest how it's gonna affect many of my favourite characters.
GR will arrive when it arrives.
The biggest problem for me has been the black hole of silence and an absence of information - but the Devs have been working hard to try new things. I know this for a fact because I tried to run my event since September last year and finding a weekend where I was here and it wouldn't clash with anything proved very challenging.
The Devs work hard, as do the GMs. Marketing, not so much. Sometimes I disagree with their approach and if that happens I say so but generally I think they work hard. I will say that Positron hasn't been great at managing expectation - I hope we see a slightly different approach from War Witch but lets face it, it's been so much better since Paragon Studios took over the IP.
If you really want to make yourself useful, go out and get some new subscribers while you're waiting ;-)
Thelonious Monk
I play the game on and off; once every other day or so. I have global friends who are generally on, and have interesting personalities and super groups and there's always something to do. Whether it's blowing up absolutely everything in a Mayhem mission and then using Walk to "strut" out of the mission, or stopping to deal with a deadly apocalypse between missions of a task force, it's always interesting and I'm always looking forward to what's ahead.
There are many different powersets in the game, and many costume options to match with them. I can be whatever I want: team support, aggro control, damage dealer, or whatever. I can throw fire, electricity, rocks, hit people with my hands and feet, suck away their life force and even hurt them until they feel better. I can run fast, jump high, fly and, well... walk, if I so choose.
There are so many places in this game, and so many different kinds of enemies. And there are other people who write stories for me to play. There are never two days that I spend the same way, and I will continue to pay $15/mo to continue to be able to enjoy this game that has only gotten better over the years.
There's an expansion coming up. All of this great stuff that I already love about the game, and they're making more! A game that I'm perfectly happy with is getting bigger and better.
