I won't deny, I'm getting excited as hell over this. If it's true, and we do get a peek at testing Ultra mode in the near future, I'll finally get to see just how up to scratch my card is, read about how others' cards are doing, and then finally start looking into upgrading if I need to.

I did say we should have an announcement of some sort this week, and I'll stick by that. What will it be? You'll have to wait and find out. I'd love to give it to you now, but we've got to wait until the appropriate time.

Personally, I'm bracing for disappointment: The announcement that has something to do with "Ultra" is just an official announcement of the news we got at Herocon. We get the specific features and all that jazz, but other than a few new pretty screenshots we don't get anything we didn't already know. The purpose of the announcement is just to have a page on the website to show off to the press and that we can direct friends to.
...Or it could very well be i17 (or i16.5) that has Ultra Mode and a few other minor but cool tweaks (enemies and glowies showing up on maps after a certain number of defeats, etc...)
But over all, I like to aim low and be pleasantly surprised.

Reading the responses, I'd like to emphasize the word "should". I can't ever promise anything for sure, because there's a lot that goes into making an announcement. We want to get info to you guys, but at the same time we need to make sure any info we get to you is 100% correct. When we don't get it right you folks get rightly upset.
So to recap. We want to get you info, as soon as we possibly can. You guys want info, but you want the right stuff. We're working hard to get it to you, and as soon as we can we'll share more.
