lvl 50 content
Task forces, Ouroboros, badge collection, invention IO collection especially purple IOs which can only be slotted by level 50s...
Whatever you want to do really.
I forgot PvP.
total kick to the gut
This is like having Ra's Al Ghul show up at your birthday party.
there is plenty to do at 50. infact, unless you turned off xp at certain points to make sure you went through all the content, you can go through ouro to do what you missed, you can do raids, tf/sf's, exemp down to play with friends, io out your toon, PvP and so on and so on.
Well there are a number of level 45-50 TFs that you can run (Kahn, STF, LGTF, ITF). Additionally there are quite a few levle 45-50 story arcs (in particular Maria's arc covering the Preatorian War). Hamidon raids are also organized reguarly (every Saturday at the very least on Virtue).
In addition to this you can do any of the other Task Forces in the game exemplering down to the level or use Ouroboros to go back and do (or redo) story arcs.
Finally you can spend time acquiring IOs to make the best possible character which can be a game in and of itself.
Sweet, I'm not in a rush to get to 50 but thought if it's as boring as some claim it is once you get there I need to go even slower lol.

You know, I see this type of question all the time.
"What is there to do with a level 50 toon other than Farm and/or TFs?"
"What endgame content is there other than farming, TFs, or raids?"
etc...
Every time I see these questions, the first thing I always think of is:
"What else do you want?"
I mean, honestly, what else is there to do in 'that other game' (pick one)
with a max level toon other than grind (and grind, and grind) for "phat lewt"?
[ie farming (grinding), TFs/raids (raids), and gathering Inf/IOs (phat lewt)]
It's pretty much the exact same thing. So why do these threads keep occurring?

I beleive that if u love a toon when u are leveling between lvls 1-49, then u will not stop loving it in 50, and u will always find things to do with it

As a relatively new player who just got his first char to 50, I can say that I feel like I have plenty to do. I still have IO sets I need to complete my build, accolades I'd like to get and missions I'd like to try (via flashback). If I get bored with all that, I've yet to do anything with AE so I might give that a whirl. Although there may not be definitive tasks, like raiding to get loot, there's just too much content to "complete" by lvl 50.

Judging by your response you probably didn't really read my original post but skimmed through it kind of assuming you knew what it said, which is understandable.
My highest lvl toons being in the mid 30s I actually just experienced my first TF last night so when it comes down to what is at the lvl cap I'm not looking for "more than activity X" I'm just curious as to what people do as I've never experienced most of it.
While I understand your frustration and borderline cynicism with my question, it's not necessary, weren't you new once?

I love playing my 50's so much, that i have a hard time leveling my lower toons.

I have several lvl 50 toons that I enjoy playing so much that they see more playtime than any of my lower lvl toons that actually need levels.
Even just running missions. There is always someone LFT and I'd rather play my one of my favorite lvl 50 toons than any of the others.

I can be found, outside of paragon city here.
Thank you everyone at Paragon and on Virtue. When the lights go out in November, you'll find me on Razor Bunny.
At level 50, you finally have access to every single piece of content in the game. Frankly, I don't believe you've seen or done it all. I've been here nearly six years and I haven't.
If your goal is to get to 50, then gratz, you're done.
But there is SO MUCH MORE to do at 50. And GR promises even more. At the very least, presuming your main is all purpled out with all the best enhancements and powers in the game, you can start banking inf. so you can have limitless assets to buy anything you want when GR hits.
And if your main ISN'T all-pwn-erful...start playing through all the stuff you missed and have fun tweaking/twinking your build out. Badges are fun, there are nearly 700 blue-side to achieve. And you could always become noteworthy in many other ways in the game.
There are no words for what this community, and the friends I have made here mean to me. Please know that I care for all of you, yes, even you. If you Twitter, I'm MrThan. If you're Unleashed, I'm dumps. I'll try and get registered on the Titan Forums as well. Peace, and thanks for the best nine years anyone could ever ask for.
Agree as other posts have pointed running through the massive amount of content at various levels there are available will take a lot of time. Besides that just because you've got that say scrapper that you love through to 50, doesn't mean it the same experience as getting same a kin/* defender through to 50, or anything else.
By playing other powerset combo through in the same class or another just helps you learn more about the game, and going back to that first toon you'll likely see improvements you can make after a time. Even less time if you look at the forums in regards to various build ideas.
Also when you exmp down you are still getting funds and prestige as if you were fighting foes +X of the exmp level above 50. So if you exmp'd your 50 down to lvl 15, and kill something lvl 17, the reward is the same as if you killed something level 52 and weren't exmp'd. so your time is getting the same benefit per kill as if you had stayed at 50. Only with SSK now making that kill at lvl 15 is even easier as you have your level 20 powers, including stamina if you're slotted right
Because there are always new players, e.g. ME

On re-reading it, it did come out that way though.
What I meant was more along the lines of a general "why does everyone keep asking and/or complaining about level 50 content when it's the exact same thing every mmo has".
Actually, I guess even that sounds a little snarky.
So, I'll just apologize if I upset you and shut up now
EDIT: Oh, and welcome to the game. Enjoy it, it's a heck of a ride.

Hello, my name is Soulwind and I have Alt-Itis.
First off, welcome to the boards and game!
Once you have had ur fill of Dev created content, my suggestion is to try your hand at creating a storyline for your shiny 50. The AE is a great tool for lots of things, not least of which is creatively making this game yours. Hate fighting Rikti, thats ok, you can fight ANY faction in the game... or even better make your own.
Cheers mate!
Sorry, it wasn't actually intended in a snarky way.

lol no apology necessary but thank you. That's kinda why I prefaced my original post as such, I know those of you that have been playing for awhile have seen lots of posts about this so to you it's more like a "I just answered this YESTERDAY!"
But definitely enjoying the ride thus far... my altoholism is causing me to take the scenic route at every opportunity though lol.
And to Darth, I've tried some of the AE missions and even just playing them is fun... going through one where all the baddies were named "Tech Support" was awesome lol...

First of all, especially heroside the higher-level task forces tend to be newer and much more imaginative. I mean, compared to Positron or Citadel for example. Villainside you don't have the same problem of old, bloated, relatively boring task forces, but you don't get as many to choose from either.
The Lady Grey Task Force is great fun. That's a co-op task force in the Rikti War Zone, where the ship raids happen too.
The Khan Task Force is... not one of the best, but not bad.
The Imperius Task Force is lotsa fun. That's co-op too, takes place in Cimerora.
I've never actually run the Statesman Task Force but I know it's also fun. (Well... I've been on a team that ran the first mission and then self-destructed.)
Hami raids are fun, to me anyway.
There are four task forces in the Shadow Shard. Probably the less said about that the better, though... they are of the old-school variety, long and not overly imaginative. But the zone itself is awesome.
All other Task Forces in the game are available to you through the magic of exemplaring. ^_^ Nearly all other mission arcs are available to run again through Ouroboros. You can still run countless AE missions.
Most importantly... you can still improve your character a great deal through IOs, making them more fun to play.
I still like to level up characters (I have severe altitis) but my 50's with complete builds are the most fun to play, even when exempted down a little. ^_^

...and don't forget you can make as many unique missions as you want in the Mission Architect.
There are a lot of good missions in there for level 50's buried in the garbage.
Also, you don't have to just run level 50 missions in the MA. There are lots of good lower level missions in there as well ... some of the ones that are flagged as DEVs Choice and Hall of Fame might even be worth playing ... and the Guest author ones might be worth a shot.
Seriously, there are hundreds of thousands of MA missions. I'm sure that there are at least a good 10k of them that are a hoot to play. From my point of view, many of them are not Guest Author, Hall of Fame, or DEV Choice missions. I've ran plenty of great MA missions that weren't 5 star-ed and didn't have even 50 plays. The gems are in there waiting to be found.
And that can take up a lot of time!
Helping out other supergroup members, fighting the Monsters on Monster Island or the Rikti Monkeys on Rikti Monkey Island (both in Peregrine). Heck, fighting giant monsters in general, they are all over the place!
I'm assuming you have already checked out the Shadow Shard (get someone around level 41 to pull the missions, you'll be exemplared down, but it will be a different experience if you haven't run that arc yet.) and Cromorea (or whatever it's called) ... heck, did you run the Striga, Croatoan, or Vanguard/Rikti War Zone stuff yet?
Mother Ship raids in the Rikti War Zone?
Hami Raids (do they even happen any more?)?
Run costume contests for the level-challenged in Atlas!?
Oh, heck...there is a lot to do, but I'm an alt-oholic. I play my 50's from time to time, but I have over 100 characters that are aren't level 50 yet that want to get some action?
How many slots did you have free?
What you haven't checked out how many servers yet?
Wow.
I made 22 characters the first week?!
Uh, yeah, ranting again..sorry...I think there is plenty of things to do at level 50, but it isn't the end of the game once you have hit 50 by any stretch of the definition.
This really isn't an "end game" kind of game. It's an "enjoy the journey" kind of game. I find it to be an "enjoy being a super hero with your friends" game as well.
my altoholism is causing me to take the scenic route at every opportunity though lol.

Heck, it took me 2 YEARS before I had my first lvl 50.
By that time, I had filled 4 of the servers with toons.
(of course, back then we only had 8 slots per server rather than the 36 we can have now)

Hello, my name is Soulwind and I have Alt-Itis.
Personally, Radu, I tend to shelve my 50's once they hit the Big Ding, but that's more because I'm goal-oriented, don't dig Badging, and can't set "arbitrary" goals (accumulate 1billion Inf, get Accolades, fully IO-out the toon).
But let me re-iterate what others have said, playing 1-50 on a Shield/Mace Tank is an entirely different game vs. playing thru on a Illusion/Storm Controller, or an Emp/Rad Defender, or Rad/Rad Defender, or an Ill/Kin, or a Grav/Kin, or....
Someone did the math once, here on the Forums, and there are literally hundreds of possible powerset combos (Heroes & Villains), and each one provides an entirely different experience.
You say you're experiencing Altitis already...Me, I *have* to get to 50 before starting a new toon, which lets me really immerse myself in each toon before moving on to the next.
Don't slow yourself down, getting that first 50. But once you do, do consider just putting him on the shelf like a trophy and moving on to your next conquest. There are still *hundreds* of "worlds" left to "conquer".
At 50, you do start looking at things from a whole new perspective. The entire game is now open to you, and there is nothing that you cannot do if you make the effort.
For starters, you're probably going to want to respec and begin tweaking and changing your character build to be the best it can be. Now you can softcap your defenses, slot purples, and make whatever crazy gimmick builds you want. Advancement beyond 50 now happens at your own pace.
Inf is suddenly a lot easier to come by. Even just by tagging along with a farm team, you can get more inf and drops than you know what to do with. Giving a few million inf to a random begging stranger is pocket change.

Unlike other MMOs (or so I am told), CoH does not "begin when you hit 50" - it begins at level one. Once you hit fifty you can do some of the things others have mentioned or shelve the toon and start a totally different new one.
This is not a design flaw or an oversight or "stupid", this is WAI.
Most players have many alts and are making more all the time, such as myself (after three years I'm still making more! :P) Heck, I often never reach 50 on a given toon before I get excited by the next new one I've made and run with that one instead. If you only ever play one toon in this game, you are in a small minority (not that that's the wrong way to play either!).
Once again, this is not a design flaw or an oversight or "stupid", this is WAI.

I know this has been brought up before and I did try to search before posting this because I KNOW for those of you been playing awhile this question is probably rather annoying... but what do you do at lvl 50?
I've seen people post that they essentially retire toons at lvl 50. I understand that there's no real "endgame" like in some other MMOs but the thought of getting a toon all the way to 50 with nothing else to do with it but farm is kinda disheartening.
I know at one point I saw a thread going over things to do after hitting 50 but when I searched I couldn't find it to save my life.
