Add FWZ and Cimerora to base transporter options

Hi:

I believe base transporters do not have access to the FWZ, and Cimerora zones, would it be possible to have these zones added to base capabilities?

I can't think if there are any other zones not available through base transporters, if so, it would be nice if they would also be included. I am not sure if RWZ has a base transporter means, can't recall.

I imagine Cimerora could be an issue, since it must be unlocked to get access to it, but I iamgine a flag could be programmed into the Cimerora transporter to check if the way has been unlocked.

In general this is a "completeness" type suggestion, where a base should be able to transport its members to any zone be blue or red respectively.

RWZ does.
Cimerora I can see why they don't add it in, as it has a specific background to it. It is also located in the last level locked place in the game. Wether I agree with that or not makes no odds; thats the way it is.

I assume you mean fire base zulu by fwz and i don't think there are any badges to collect there to get a tp beacon. you can already get to cimerora from ouro. all you have to do is start one of the cim story arcs and use the big crystal. and yes, rwz has a tp beacon. you actually have to do a raid to get the last badge to get it as it is in the middle of the rikti mother ship.

Un-true. My Crab Spider and my Tanker have never ship-raided, yet both earned all the SG teleporter beacons.

i thought that you needed the explore badge in the middle of the ship to get the beacon. at least that is how it was unless they changed it.

I think Cimerora also has difficulties because you are required to have finished the Midnighter Arc before you can get there.

As for Fire Base Zulu (and the other Shadow Shard places) Ive always wondered why there isn't a TP to there. Would make things a little easier.

Hmmph....that's...wierd.
I'm sure I dont have Unabashed on my Crab Spider, and I DO have the RWZ in my VG.
*shrug* I could see WHY it isn't included, though.

you are wrong techbot. i just went to rwz with a toon who needs everybadge there and i went to the ace badge first and got it and no beacon. and yes i am in sg mode. an no, the sg does not have the beacon or anyone that has the beacon in it. i know this because i am the only person in the sg as i just created it to try this. the wiki is wrong and we all know that the wiki is not reliable and needs to be updated. well not this part, it is actually up to date: One obtains the Rikti War Zone Beacon supergroup badge by visiting all the Rikti War Zone exploration badge locations while in supergroup mode.

Maybe I need to clean out my cerebral core, but when I can log in (damn you, Uni firewall...) then I'm gonna check this. I'm about 97% certain that you don't need the raid badge, and I would be surprised if you do. It's a bit harsh, really...

Unless you can get it from simply hovering OVER the mothership core? I can't remember...

no, thats the only part that sucks and i wish you could. i think i have 3 toons who have the raid badge because of it.

Before it was RWZ and just RCS, there was only Ace to get.

After that you need to get them all, but note: 1 character doesnt have to get them all. You could have different characters, all in SG mode, each getting some of the exploration badges to get the beacon for your SG so long as each is earned at least once.

There are a bunch of zones that don't have teleporter access, for good reason.

The Hive, The Abyss
CoV's Monster Island
All the PVP zones.
The Shadow Shards
Cimerora
Midnigihter Club
Ouroboros

An almost consistent attribute for these zones is that they are level-locked. Only the Shards are not.

I see the lack of beacons for these zones as marking them as special.

You need the badge on the mothership, but you don't have to be a part of the raid. You just need the badge in the middle of the dish.

You can't reach the badge while the shields are up, so you can only get the badge when a raid is occurring.

If your supergroup has more than one person in it, one person could get the badge on the mothership, and another could get the other badges, and your SG would still have the teleporter beacon.

I believe if your SG have the Rikti Crash Site beacon before the Rikti War Zone was created, that beacon will still work, too.

I really did meant Fire Base Zulu...

With regards to RWZ, there are history and explorer badges there to be collected as well.

In a way, I wanted the base transporters as a quality of life type thing.

Actually the Cimerora suggestion by using the Oro thread, I use regularly with my level 50 alts, of course this means are unavailable if you are below level 50.

In the case of FBZ I would like to see portals to it, mostly because there are several badges and unlockable costumes in that zone.

Nit-picky, but hey.
Monster Island and stuff are not level locked. We did a SG Monster hunt, and checked. They were not locked (thankfully we unloaded awesome on them all)

Hmm. I was sure that the Hive/Abyss were kept level locked. Oh well, it isn't as if anyone under level 45 stands a chance of living for very long in either zone.

Edit:
According to the Issue 16 patch notes, the Hive & the Abyss did not have the level restriction removed:

Quote:
City Zones
  • The Minimum Entry Level has been removed from many Hazard and Trial Zones in order to support upgrades to the Sidekicking System.
  • Zones Affected:
    • Abandoned Sewers
    • Boomtown
    • Crey's Folly
    • Dark Astoria
    • Eden
    • Perez Park
    • Shadow Shard - Cascade Archipelago
    • Shadow Shard - Firebase Zulu
    • Shadow Shard - The Chantry
    • Shadow Shard - The Storm Palace
    • Striga Isle
    • Terra Volta
    • The Hollows
    • The Sewers
    • The Tunnels
Co-Op Zones

  • The Minimum Entry Level of the Rikti War Zone has been removed in order to support upgrades to the Sidekicking System

I don't see why level lock (or any lock for that matter) is relevant here. RWZ was level locked until last relese. SG teleporter just wouldn't allow you to enter RWZ until you reached lvl35. The same can be done with any locked zones.

The RWZ was a hazard zone. It had a teleport beacon from the start. It was a hazard zone that the developers chose to give access to thanks to being very far off the normal path. The other hazard zones had the same restrictions before Issue 16. All they did was to keep some of the zones "off the grid" as it were.

A better question people should be asking is "Why should the zones that were blocked from having a beacon in the first place be given TP access?" Given that telepads have existed since fall of 2005 and were given regular zone access during Issue 7 (I think), there has been plenty of opportunity to include more teleporter access.

We know the developer's reasons for blocking the PVP zones: Players would abuse the rez and buffing stations to gain an advantage.

IIRC when you are getting defeated in PVP zone, you can chose base instead of hospital. From base you can get ported right back into PvP zone. The same works for any zone that has no TP beacon. I used that trick to get back into The Hive, The Abyss, ASN and Monster Island.

I did not say that there wasn't holes, but that was the developer stated reason for not allowing TPs into the PVP zones.

Perhaps base teleport systems are just not powerful enough to send you back in time, or into another dimension?

... note that when it was the RCS, it wasn't (for, what, two issues) very far off the beaten path - they put a portal to it right in Portal Corp, in the back right corner between the two buildings (on the helicopter pad.) Before that... yeah, long, long haul.

Come on, the Rikti Crash site was the best shortcut from the other end of Crey's Folly to PI.

There was an SG badge bug about a year ago where every single SG badge was unlocked. If people were aware it was happening and were capable of taking advantage of it they were able to grab beacons and restricted base items. You could even get things that were restricted by faction. After they fixed the bug any base items purchased remained.

I still think Fire Base Zulu should have its own base beacon and portal.
