Rad Superteam and Midlevel Recipes

Chatting with a couple people during the past week gave me an idea. One discussion was about starting a rad "super team"; the other was about their participation in generating mid-level recipes with the Market Forum endeavor.

So far there are 4 of us interested in starting up a */rad super-team. It's been suggested that we start up a red-side team but nothing is finalized. Two of us are planning to eventually "park" our alts at 33rd or 35th, but there won't be a requirement that anyone interested in joining has to stop leveling.

Things to be determined may include, but aren't limited to:
-Required/Suggested power picks/template
-a Theme
-Supergroup (new or use/acquire an existing one?)
-use of existing global channel or creating (yet) another?
-will there be a designated night or time to play together?
-who is/are going to lead/spearhead this effort?
-red or blue?

For an all Rad team: Accelerate Metabolism (this is a no-brainer), Choking Cloud, RI, EF and LR. Some, but not all, may want to add in Vengeance, Fallout and Mutation (especially if Scrappy is involved ). Maximize AOE damage powers as early as possible. Add in Assault and Hasten from power pools. Stamina would be completely unnecessary with stacked AM's.

Most of us already have our own SG's. Seems best to stick with that to me. I'd say global channel would be the way to go, although perhaps we should simply stick with one of the existing channels. Maybe STF Masters...

This is always a tough one. Especially for me, as I have an odd schedule where I work 7 days on/7 days off.

Personally, my preference would be redside, especially if a secondary goal is supplying the market, although I'm more than happy to go blue. Blueside might need a little more discussion about powersets though, especially if there is a mix of Defenders and Controllers.

I think one person taking vengeance should be more then enough. I do not have a preference either way as far as red or blue goes. I could use the help finally getting a villain off the ground. But theres a reason heroes hold my heart so either way is fine with. Weekends are usually best for me as the week can be a little unpredictable, i can always force Mrs. Scrappy to fill in if work screws up the occasional day though.

This sounds like it could be a lot of fun and I do love rad. Count me in for now and my vote goes to red side but blue is fine too.

I assume something like Cold Domination/Radiation Blast would be out of the question, right?

I like this idea and would definitely be interested, I'm game with either side - both my existing rads are at 50, so I'd definitely be rolling a new toon for this.

As to SGs - I'd prefer using my existing SGs for my toons - they're both small and every bit of prestige helps. Perhaps using a global channel for this would work better.

When Badge was running Corruptor Days, there was a set day and time to run - this worked well, I think this is a good idea to consider.

My former SG had an all Defender team running on another server.

Fastest levelling toons ever.

Okay, I'm one of the people in the marketing group you mentioned.

We just ran a "slow" two hour 7-man Posi last night. I say "slow" because we didn't ghost. We just killed everything in our way. The only reason we had any deaths at all was we'd occasionally get split up (because we weren't paying attention). If difficulty of the TF wasn't locked at +0, we probably could have handled it at +2. 4 of us were Protector regulars.

Essentially, once you get to SOs, AM is perma on a large team.

If we planned to level much past 33-38, I'd LOVE to see what a Doc Q would run like.

I'd also post in the MidLevel Crisis thread(s) and let them know as well. It might make sense to have an alternate venue for the endeavor. Especially after we tried to engage in a Rikti Raid last night. *BLEEP*ing lag-tastic is about the nicest thing I can say about it.

Here's a template and feedback is encouraged. We're going with the Villains/Redside.

Requirements:
- Accelerate Metabolism at level 4
- any 2 of [Radiation Infection, Radiant Aura, Envervating Field, Lingering Radiation] prior to level 20 and should have RI, EF and LR by 30th
- any 2 of Maneuvers, Assault, Tactics prior to level 24(?)
- AoE attack as early as available
- be friendly and have fun!

Optional/recommended:
- Hasten (highly recommended)
- Fallout and Choking Cloud (not available till 35th/28th)
- It would be nice if we had a couple people (or not too many) with: Grant Invisibility, Vengeance, Mutation, Recall Friend

Note that Stamina is not needed when teamed so is not recommended.


With the amount of interest we've received, I think we'll try for 2 "scheduled" playtimes; ideally they will be time windows that will give everyone a chance to team. People are encouraged to play together at other times since the new sidekick/lackey rules should make teaming different levels easy.
For discussions sake the proposed times are Sunday afternoon and Monday evenings. If these times conflict with other regular events or you think they'd be better spread out more, please make suggestions. Also if both times are bad for you, please chime in.

As suggested previously, we'll be using "STF Masters" since many of you have that channel already. It's open for anyone to join from channel search; an invite isn't needed. Everyone is free to use their own supergroups. If you don't have one, you're welcome to join Domain of Wrath with me. I'm sure others will welcome you into their SG as well.

Please invite players from other servers to join us. This is a great chance to play on the redside with such limited redside opportunities on many servers. Protector has excellent redside players and they are well represented in the replies in this thread. RSF is run all the time and we've run successful Hami Raids. For those without a level 50, I'd recommend not to turn off xp, assuming we can keep this going that long.
I'll personally provide infamy for slotting SOs/DOs and maybe a bit more to those lacking resources, especially anyone not native to Protector.

As we get rolling we should be able to work on accessible accolades.

Does anyone have suggestion for a(n) (optional) theme for the characters?

I'm still looking for others to "take up the star"


I know "you can't make everyone happy" so make your voice heard while we're still getting organized.

If the Leadership pool is mandatory, and I agree it should be, then I think Assault should be a mandatory power, and Maneuvers/Tactics optional. With the damage buff from 8xAM and 8xAssault the team will be just shy of the 500% damage cap at all times once fully slotted up.

Impyre, is there enough interest blue side to run this, or maybe change it to a dark/* defender team as well as the rad aspect for blueside? I think dark defenders would chew through stuff almost as fast as rads, and we need more dark defenders!

Rad Iculous has been re-created as a Corruptor. I am willing to participate on the Blue side with this too if there is enough interest.

Currently there's not a lot of group activity for MLC. The rad superteam happens on Monday evenings there.

For this character, I will be taking a travel power late in the build if at all. I would rather pick up RI at 4 and AM at 6, so that there is some debuffage. I am iffy on how to combat invis. Superspeed + stealth proc? Stealth + stealth proc in sprint or stealth and superspeed. I am leaning toward Stealth and Sprint so that I can fit recall in there. I plan on using my own SG, since I am solo, I need every drop of prestige that I can get.

Vega: You can skip Stamina. With stacked AM's, there is no need for it. That will free up a couple slots and allow you to fit in some powers earlier. If you're concerned about being able to solo, create a second build that does have Stamina in it.

Some builds will be tighter than others depending on the primary but Panzer does bring up a valid point in using the secondary build to alternate between a soloing or team build. I think Imp's suggestions for certain powers by the 30s gives enough flexibility to still come up with something close (if not) the build you want to take through to 50 or until you level lock the toon.

The ability to "fight" while you wait for someone's AM to recharge if you die.

I would forgo Stamina myself, but that would probably be the reason.

Allow me to buzz-saw attacks like a hyper-caffienated rabid chihuahua on speed, adding to overall damage and bringing enemies that don't melt immediately down even earlier. While maintaining multiple toggles (including travel power).

That, and being viable OUTSIDE of the rad superteam as well.
