A small request
The charm of the winter event is partly the chalet and its surrounding themselves. It is fresh, fun and looks nice. People hear cowbells, run the slopes or RP inside. Every year people rediscover the novelty again.
If the chalet was there the whole year. It would be another unused zone and the winter event would loose most of its fun. So for my part I say:
No thanks.
Perma-Chalet for the win. Hell, I'd be for getting a different D add-on for every season, but that seems like a lot more work than it's worth. It's nice just for making people spread out a little from a giant pile in the blue topside bar.
Having Vengeance and Fallout slotted for recharge means never having to say you're sorry.
Clearly the solution is that, when possible, they need to make three new versions of the Chalet, so there's one for each season.

1. Turning in candy canes all year:
Place the Candy Keeper (or alternatively a second Candy Keeper) outside the Chalet, so that the Chalet does not need to be open in order to get the Candy Cane rewards
2. Year-Round Chalet:
I'm against simply keeping it open year-round. However, I would love to see it converted into a water part for some kind of summer event

Completely serious on my backing this one. If the Baby New Year, Winter Lord, and related tasks must remain seasonal fine that makes sense, but keep the ski chalet and mountain open year round. We all know its by far the fun side of Pocket D, and its always a shame to see it go. Some of us like to do the slopes whenever the mood takes us, and it doesnt have to be winter.
Hey, either that, or maybe Xmas mountain shifts into some open corner of the Shadow Shard between holidays
I have indeed done RP in Pocket D, and I do prefer the chalet to the main club. That being said, that is not my main incentive for adding my voice to this thread.
Clearly the solution is that, when possible, they need to make three new versions of the Chalet, so there's one for each season.

Fact is, I know the chalet and ski mountain never actually ‘goes’ anywhere. They can flip a switch or the equivalent, and turn it on and off.
Actually, it’s always there. When they turn it ‘off’ it’s just invisible. Probably exists in a separate layer; the 3D users here will at least understand that.
Stand by Trina the Icon rep in the VIP lounge; when you turn the right angle you can hear the Christmas music track playing. It’s always there.
Log out in the chalet before the patch that ends Christmas. Your toon will temporarily be standing in the open space where the chalet is, you might at least see some parts of it like the doors.
Like I said, all they have to do is flip a switch.

Just move the Candy Keeper outside the chalet entrance during the off seasons.

Summer could be water slides.
What could be done with Spring and Fall?

Candy Keeper needs to be moved into Pocket D proper when the Winter Event isn't happening, but I'm very much opposed to the Chalet being open all year. The Chalet is the main draw of the winter event. Leaving that open all year would be the equivalent of allowing you to do the Valentines Day missions all year round. It defeats the purpose of the winter event.
That being said, there is another option. Similar to the Pocket D VIP Pass, insert an Accolade that requires all the Winter Event badges that unlocks the Chalet year round... That would allow people who worked their tails off to get in whenever they want while still making it "special."

Against leaving the Chalet open all year, but I suppose I wouldn't mind if it were.
For moving the Candy Keeper to the main part of Pocket D and making him accessible all year, which would create some reason for Candy Canes to move on the market during most of the year.

The short version:
Please let us keep the Ski Chalet all year. Thank you.
The long version:
2009 was a great year for Roleplayers in CoX. We gained so many great things: new costumes, new emotes, new powers, size/body changing, power customization, the MA system, and our beloved Walk toggle. We have so many new toys that most of us are still trying to figure out what to do with it all!
2010 looks to be even more of the same. With the upcoming Mutant Booster Pack and Going Rogue, we'll have more costumes, powers, and concepts to play with than ever before!
And yet... This bounty of wealth poses a strange problem. As our cast of characters grows, the list of places within the game where such diverse characters could believeably meet and interact grows smaller. Of course, the obvious answer to this is Pocket D, but not every character (or RP) really belongs in a nightclub. It's loud, flashy, and chaotic, not really suited to a relaxed conversation at all. We endure it, of course, but the upsurge of RPers in Pocket D during the Winter Event is a solid sign that we'd like something different.
This is the main reason why I'd like to ask that the Ski Chalet be left open all year for now on. I have no idea how difficult it would be to do so, as I have no idea what code changes would need to be made. However, the relaxed setting of the ski area gives us a totally different neutral ground for RP, one that feels quite a bit different from the main areas of Pocket D.
I know that the time the Ski Chalet is accessable has been kept limited to make it feel more special, but there comes a point where it crosses from "special" to "frustrating". While many may not care, I'm sure I'm not the only one that feels this way when the Chalet goes away.
I can come up with a few non-RP reasons to leave it around as well. The entertainment of the ski slopes that can't be matched anywhere else in the game, and the ability to turn in leftover salvage like people can with the Halloween salvage are up there on the list. For me, however, the RP reason is the one that really matters.
That's my (hopefully) small request, and I hope you'll think about it. Thank you.
P.S.: Yes, I do play on Virtue. How could you tell?
