Valkyries New Weapon

She's always had that spear when she stands in Steel.

However, she has a broadsword when you fight her in-game, with a "signature power" of using her spear for something that I forget.

As far as I know she's always had that spear, I believe it's even part of her origin.

The Demon hunter Hero who's name I can't remember right now is the one with a battle axe.

IIRC, the Praetorian Battle Maiden has an axe blade on her spear; that may be where the confusion is coming from.

More precisely, she has a halberd.

Valkyrie has always had that spear; it's the source of her powers.

Thank you Sam, was about to mention the same. C'mon people, get your medieval weapon nomenclature together!

I'm wondering just when he did that, since we fight Lillitu quite a few times redside all the way into the 40s without Infernal around. Did you mean the Praetorian Infernal?

That sounds dirty.

what? no sorry, but can i get a shot of it? because im thinking it is a poleaxe. a halberd is a very specific polearm consisting of a chopping axe head, a spike on the top for thrusting, and a hook on the back for taking down mounted riders. i would remember a halberd if i had seen one. (yes, too many oblivion arguments).

EDIT: went to paragonwiki, and it does appear to be a halbred after all, the hook on the back is a bit thick, so i had assumed that it was a second chopping head, but it does look close enough to a hook to qualify...hmm learn something new everyday.

I'm honestly not an expert on medieval weaponry, but the pic Aggelakis provided made it look like what I knew to be a halberd. Even if it's a pole axe, it's still not "an axe blade on a spear"

Then again, I'm a fan of calling things by their real names, because it's both a little easier to discuss and a little more interesting to read. That, and "pole" powersets get suggested fairly often, but rarely make the distinction between bladed polearms like halberds and pointed polearms like pikes, and there have been a few scythes in the mix, as well. Clarity on which weapon does what helps straighten things out.

Remember, Infernal isn't from Primal Earth so it is possible that the Lillitu we fight isn't the same version he bound.
