Think PERC could make a contest out of "What server should Voodoo go to?". I envision mass server battles of "Well we don't want him either!" Or see which one could raise enough funds to pay me to stay and continue the drag on Victory. A special gold title just for me: "Ha ha [insert server name here] got me". Fun for all ages.



Otherwise I could look into a closer located server for a pending move of my own. Otherwise part deux, I have 4 guys I haven't logged in to for 300+ days that can easily be shipped off. But then I have 3 or 4 others I'd like to bring over since I think I'd actually play them. It's just too bad GR is still far off. This doesn't really goose my gander overall.

I moved 2 guys to freedom, my spines regen for pvp and some other thing. A corr that I never play I think. I'm gonna be moving more things I never play I think, but I don't really know anywhere to go.

As for me I had a concept on making all my toons on Victory Have something to do with my Main Lady Lylith. This might give me the opportunity to do so.

At least one of every AT that has the name Lylith in it.

New to the server myself, moving from Virtue and hopefully will help build the RP community on Victory.

You know, been wondering about the devs intentions/expectations behind this. Testing to see how many people use it?

I'm making the assumption that most people who would be willing to pay money for a transfer have already done so, so are the devs in a "what the hell, let's throw them a bone" mood? Are they testing to see what servers lose the most people?

As I said, I think it's multi-part.

1) To give an incentive for people to stick around for GR who may have been on the fence due to server limitations and weren't paying for transfers. The costs for this are far outweighed by GR consumptions.
d) To get a feel for server popularity and possible server changes with GR (maybe just in general). Probably more of a hardware standpoint than a "popularity" contest, but who knows.
^o^) A nice little QoL present to combine the two above.

Personally, the best theory I've seen has been that they are testing new functionality to make free transfer tokens available as Vet rewards, and this is one step in the process. That, combined with a nice holiday gesture, is what makes the most sense to me.

I think Voo's reasons make a lot of sense too.

To be honest? I actually think they SHOULD merge a few servers. It's just that supergroups are a big factor/question.

I see your point about SG/VGs. Unless the give the ability to port over a whole base I guess we would lose all that prestige

Maybe they could let the "SuperLeader" move the base with them, and offer up a free rename of the SG if that name is already taken? Wow that would would raise some outcry too.

One big issue that I think could pop up is if you are being force-merged to another server that you already have many characters on. I guess they would have to like say: "Victory is closing, all victory players will be given a free transfer to one of the following servers: "drunk server", "catgurl server", "OMG I can't believe its not Butter server".

I don't see any need to merge servers, personally. I've heard people try to call Victory dead over the years, but they're just not looking. We clearly don't have issues getting teams and Task Forces together. It's the same for the other servers that are considered "small."

Plus, merging servers is seen as a "death knell" for a MMORPG, so it really would be a bad idea in that sense. I also think it wouldn't be a good idea to do this when they're letting out another expansion. It gives the wrong impression (believe it or not, there are doomsayers that are afraid of joining CoX because NCSoft supposedly randomly shuts down their MMOs), and they may want all that space depending on how well GR does.

At any rate, merging servers causes unneeded headaches for players and the devs, and sends a negative impression to many. And the only reason to merge is if populations are too low on any given server, which is an iffy prospect for any player to prove, and is regularly shot down by people playing regularly on all our servers. Given all that, why merge?

Sure maske, I have a storm/sonic defender that I like to play but never do because I prefer my cold psy. He now lives on champ.

Okay, so here's my plan. I participate in the Tanker Tuesdays on Champion when I can, so I already have two tanks there, and I know it's a good server. I had a one hero SG that I was SLOWLY working on that I am going to coalition with Peterbilt when I get the chance. If you want to join this SG, let me know (I don't know if Peterbilt has room in his SG, it sounded full from something he said to me, but he can correct me). I would rather keep it to people I at least somewhat know from Victory, just to keep that spirit going if we're ever on these alts... plus I know I can trust you if we throw some salvage in the bins.

Do keep in mind that I hadn't done anything with this SG just yet, as I was building up some influence SLOWLY with just one hero, as I hadn't found anyone to help me invite my couple of heroes over there. I am, however, willing to work on building the base once we get some funds. I'll probably concentrate on some storage and the invention table first, then move on to whatever we want. Peterbilt already has most of the porters, so if we add anything from there, it might be to the zones that he doesn't have porters to.

Anyway, let me know. Penny and I have discussed joining forces with our few heroes on Champion already, so I thought I would toss it out here to other Victoryites.

Yeah, I need just a bit more cash before we can add another room and get some bins. I forgot how long it took my solo SG on Victory to get a room that could hold multiple bins and actually have bins in it.

I'll even try to decorate it a bit so it's not too bare.
