AND IN NO WAY INDICATES THAT THE SERVERS ARE MERGING AND THE GAME IS SHUTTING DOWN.

Avatea, would you be so kind as to state (or have another red name do so) that you are not going to shut down any servers in the foreseeable future?
There's a small but vocal group of people who seem to view this as the only possible reason that NCSoft would allow for free server transfers. It'd be best to nip that chatter in the bud as quickly as possible.

Well, they should note that stuff stored in the supergroup base (not *on* your character) won't transfer - yes, it should be painfully obvious that that, and the sg itself, wont' transfer, but still.
I'll be visiting other servers with my main. Justice is first on the list. I'll just create a lowbie toon with its name on my home server to prevent it from being taken while I'm away.
I just wish the Passport badge was associated with server transfers. This would be the perfect time to add it, since the transfers are free for a while. I would have visited other servers long ago if Passport was awarded for it.

I bet we'll see at least 30 threads starting over it between now and the end of January, some percentage of which will say any redname post to that effect is actually a lie to keep "everyone" from moving to Freedom. (Me, I'm thinking about who I can move OFF of there.)

Posted also in the For Fun section, this provision has more to do with opening up space on player's servers to make room for new characters to play Going Rogue.

If two level-pacted characters travel to the same server, does their pact remain intact?
Hello, my name is @Caligdoiel and I'm an altoholic.
Just this weekend I was looking long and hard at my Triumph list (it was at 36 on my main account) about who I could purge. I deleted one character, and was thinking about another couple that could be deleted.
This is perfect timing for me, in that I can free up some slots on Triumph. Pull the one character I care about that is on Freedom off and still have slots there ready for Going Rogue.

I checked the Knowledge Base, but could not find the answer.
Do I need to have a open character slot in the receiving server or does the character slot move with the character?
I would love to move one of my characters over but really don't want to delete an existing one to fit him in.
