New Cape Mission
New cape mission O_o?
I guess saving the time capsule became obsolete.
I was wondering about that yesterday.
For those of us who don't have characters who could earn a cape but haven't, what changed about it? And does that affect the CoV-side cape mission?

The time capsule shouldn't have anything to do with the Redside cape mission. You should still be able to cause havoc in Paragon to get attention, then beat up (and take thier cape) the hero who tries to stop you.

The first part of the mission is the same - talk to three people, though you get more info on justin greene in the clues. The second part has changed - including location - and it's two missions. (Nothing horridly difficult, and it makes sense with how they structured it and current lore.)
Huh? Did they just change it? I did a cape mission yesterday and it was the same time capsule mission it's always been.
Dammit, I did this on Sunday on a toon... Although the patch notes say its available through Oro.
Wasn't able to find this mission in the Ouro crystal within the base. I'll try the one in Ouro - aren't they the same?
Never surrender! Never give up!

I disliked the "go talk to these people in three different zones all the way at the end of those zones" when I first ran the cape mission, and I still dislike them now. Then you add in an extra mission (which is a defeat-all), and it ends up taking even longer to complete. Oh well, I tried it out just because it was new, but it's slower than it was even before - I remember now why I never bother getting capes or auras on my characters.
"One day we all may see each other elsewhere. In Tyria, in Azeroth. We may pass each other and never know it. And that's sad. But if nothing else, we'll still have Rhode Island."

I know right? They should offer an additional cape mission for those of us that can't be bothered with another mission. They should put it in AE and have it earned by farming.

Why yes, I am spoiled by the redside cape mission, why do you ask?

And the same room with the capsule from the BTF...
...but with no 5th Column portal this time
The guardian spirit of the capsule also appears - although I don't think he looks spirit-ish enough

They should offer an additional cape mission for those of us that can't be bothered with zoning a bunch of times and running halfway across those zones. They can put all the info from the fed-exes in a door mission, and have all three door missions in the same zone,.

They could, or they could just leave it as is and work on something new. I vote something new since the cap mission takes all of 15 minutes if you don't have a travel power of any sort.
Devs hate heroes?

Old crappy content shouldn't be neglected in the futile search for the ultimate shiny.

So while a perfect scenario of revamping old content and getting new content would be best, you have to be realistic and understand your opinion matters little in the actual implementation of their design goals.
Yes, yes it should when the resources are limited. Money and time aren't unlimited resources and have to be put to the most efficient and best use. Posi has stated this many time and most recenty at HeroCon.

It's one mission. Mercedes Sheldon has 14 missions. How many times have you done the cape mission? How many times have you done Mercedes Sheldon's missions? Which would be a better return on investment?

Ok, so let's leave a substandard piece of content that nearly everyone goes through fairly early in their CoH career, then repeats on every character who wants a cape.

Holy crap the new cape mission is amazing. For anyone looking for a taste of new story content, it's fantastic. Do it now.
We'll always have Paragon.
