Release Notes for Build 1600.20091102.1T

COMBINED



Macintosh Client

  • Fixed a mouse cursor issue that affected Macintosh users who had the Intel GMA x3100 video card.
  • The “Enter” key on the Macintosh Number keypad will no longer have the same functionality as the “Return” key on the keyboard.


Mission Architect

  • Arcs using high level bosses from villain groups with non-continuous level ranges (The Family, Banished Pantheon, etc), were being incorrectly detected as invalid when characters tried to enter the mission door, after the mission was accepted. These arcs are now playable again.


Powers



General
  • The Shivan Shard temp power now works correctly while exemplared. Previously, the summoning animation would play and a charge would be consumed, but nothing would be summoned.
  • The Walk power is now granted at Level 2 rather than at character creation.

Tasks

  • Fixed a bug where Task / Strike Forces with a Level range that includes Level 50 (in the TF/SF range) spawn at one level below the team’s level.



CITY OF HEROES


Tasks
  • Midnighter Club: Mercedes Sheldon’s story arc Crown of Glory was not giving out a story arc completion reward upon speaking to the contact. This has been fixed and the appropriate reward is now issued by the contact at story arc completion.

Some quick fixes, very nice.

So...we'll be hitting the "No more patches till early 2010" window soon?

Nah, they'll still need to test the Winter Event.


If the game spit out 20 dollar bills people would complain that they weren't sequentially numbered. If they were sequentially numbered people would complain that they weren't random enough.

I know it takes all of 15 seconds to get to level 2, but is there a reason that Walk unlocks at 2 instead of just having it? Seems like a pointless restriction. Not that I'm really complaining; more curious than anything.

Probably to not confuse new players in the tutorial with too many powers. That's my guess, anyways.

Especially one that (apparently) grays out (isn't merely mutually exclusive like Combat Jump and Super Jump) every other power.

Err... Why? We are born running, but it takes actual skill to walk? Then again, we need to train and improve before we can rest, so I guess it follows. Is this so we don't clog up a newbie's tray with a zillion powers?

Good, good. I've blown fire and brimstone out my smoke stacks over this a few times, and I might have reported it at least once. It's good to see that such a difficult arc is finally giving a just reward.

hmm i looked at the live patch notes and logged into live and none of my toons have the option to walk. I've searched but nothing in the powers list that is dragable to the tray either.


Where are we going and Why am I in this Handbasket?

It got added in Wednesdays Test Server patch. It hasn't made it to live yet.

Given the normal time frame on test-to-live patching, you can probably expect it to hit the live servers early to mid next week.

ahh it was with many of the other things that went live so thought it would be going live as well.

Could you get word to QA that this bug also occurs with the Coral Amulet summoning power that is earned by completing The Temple of the Waters Strike Force? I though it might be WAI until I saw this patch note.

Is the Temple of the Waters even giving out temps now? It's hasn't been the lst few times I've ran it.

That's about the same time I got it. I haven't run the SF in a while because people are running dailies to get real rewards.

(I'm not normally one to make a comment like this, but there's nothing new to do that gives significant advancement for any of my characters in any way. It's getting hard to hold out hope for fresh playable content that will be released in 6-8 months.)

WALKING BUG: If you switch builds, walk won't activate until your 15-minute "build switching" timer is up. Slightly annoying. Sent in a ticket.

Hopefully not before fixing tf´s and sf´s
