Wrong. Mynx would use Hair Ball.

Because suffering a 'death' in a game with zero consequences is *SO* similar to spending tens of hours of time dealing with the insurance company, repair shop, etc.

What a fatuous and completely irrelevant comparison you've made.

The difference is simply one of degree, not principle. In both cases I've had to expend a piece of my finite lifespan doing something other than what I intended do to because of something that happened while I was minding my own business. That's always been why I've hated these damned "invasion" things, and brandishing the "zero debt" card as if that was all I cared about is just as fatuous and irrelevant, to use your own adjectives, as claiming a car accident you caused was OK because nobody got hurt and it didn't cost me any money would be. In neither case is it OK. In the case of the car accident it is a lot more not OK, but taking the huffy stance that X isn't nearly as bad as Y so Y must not be bad at all is just stupid.

You just proved the alternative meaning is in fact correct. Have a cookie.
As many have pointed out, for most players, the invasions aren't a problem. Personally, I had a level one (skipped the tutorial) at the Atlas trainer the other day when an invasion hit. I gained four levels standing there and fighting. Didn't get defeated once.

As far as this thread, at this point, you're just trolling. People have offered several suggestions that might help with your complaint, but you're still whining and arguing.

Wrong. One event is in a game and totally imaginary. The other is real life. Utterly and completely different.

Conceptually as well, it makes no sense for the trainers to be DANGEROUS areas.
I for instance dont like it because its supposed to be an invasion. It is dangerous. Aliens (or zombies) attack the citizens!
Heroes are supposed to fight back and protect the citizens, or take cover if they feel they are too weak. Not stand there in the middle of the action and chat with a trainer as if nothing was going on. (Like I said, as far as I am concerned all trainers and outdoor stores could just close and pretend to seek cover or fight back during invasions.)
You choosing not to take part in the city being invaded is frankly disrupting how I play the game, by using convenient game mechanics to just stand there as if that an event isnt happening at all. Immersion = 0.

THIS.

During an invasion, the quality of life is greatly affected negatively.
How rude of the invaders. How dare they? Yet you demand that you can ignore it if you want to.

You might just as well request that invasions ask you if you want to be affected by them or able to just walk through them as if it wasnt there. Which quite defies the point of an invasion.

And no, it wasnt a dumb thread. It was a valid question/request, but you have to see that its not all "There is no reason not to do this so it must be done." There's other views of it and people that dont mind the current situation at all.

Ah. That is actually the impression I had. The problem to you is not where people gather, but that evil zone wide events force you to react on them in some way.

You might make a topic about that then, "Can being affected by zone events please be optional" or such. (Which I wont support, as zone events are an interesting part of the game design, and it would be immersion breaking if you could just ignore them.)

Exactly. I didn't get hurt . . . the cars getting repaired . . . Why would I care?
