Certain Playstyles Drive You Nuts!
Standing around for the Tank/Brute to go in to a mob. Really just standing around I hate killing a group and then just standing around waiting to go in to the next group.
Joining a team of 4 or 5 and waiting for the team to get 8 people before mish is even set. You don't need 8 people all the time 3-7 will be just find and making people wait around so you can find that last person is rudy and annoying. The only time I don't mind this is on a TF when you need 8 people to start.
Rockin the aura has to be one of the most annoying things in game.
I very rarely even use the aura on my Empath. When I do its because the team is about to bite it so I set it on auto so I can keep firing off Heal Other/Absorb pain and buffing.
As soon as the fights over it gets turned off though...
Other than that I'd have to say its;
Team mates that can't follow basic instructions. Like when the tank announces a pull and lets us know where. Half the team gets in position...
The other half must not be paying attention because they follow the tank right in...
So we reiterate. Stay here, the tank will be right back.
Same thing happens.
Or
When the teams defender starts yelling at me(on my blasters) to stay put so they don't have to chase me down. Even after I tell them not to abandon the team, if I'm running, its usually to get out of LOS. I'll be right back in action. That or I'm about to bite it and my blaster instincts tell me to book it. I aint about to wait around for you to notice I'm almost dead. If I did, I'd be eating floor.
Don't feel like you have to chase me, I know what I'm doing...

Keep Calm & Chive On!
1) People that ignore instructions. EG The last mish on Katie, "If you don't have fly or haven't done this please stay at the entrance."
2) Rockin the aura.
3) "I don't like (insert buff name here). " *facepalm
4) "We need a (insert AT powerset here)."
5) "We need a full team." Granted I try to fill teams, but if after a few minutes of searching I'm usually ready to give it up and go.
There are more, but that is pretty much my top five in no particular order.
Tech Support Rule #1 - They will lie to you. Usually intentionally.
Tanking with a blaster.
Seriously, ... not a tank. >_> I'm sure they know who they are lol and while it's fun to watch sometimes it does mean a lot more deaths than necessary.
Also, not popping greens. Why live on the edge? You've got a tray full of insps, use em!

Honestly, the only thing that gets to me is knockback. Being a Blaster that's mainly AoE, a nicely packed mob being suddenly spread out is not a great thing.
1) Rockin the aura
2) knockback used in a nice tightly debuffed group of mobs |
...though it really bugs me when someone can't adapt their playstyle to a new team.
My new pet peeve is my friend that plays with me. We made shield characters to play together and I IO'ed them both to maximize the duo. Basically, as long as we are together, granting cover, we are at the "soft cap" to all positional.
Problem is, he still plays like his Gung ho blaster and goes where he wants, and then when he is in the red, he wonders why. I keep telling him, just stay fairly close and between the defense and decimating anything that is around, we are unkillable. I just wish he would stay semi-close...but he won't, sadly.

Mine are:
1. Gather for <whatever> WHILE FIGHTING IS GOING ON. I can see the whole "gather" before the fighting starts... but not while fighting is going on.
2. Team members who don't follow the team leader. To me, the leader has the star... unless he says "follow so-and-so".
3. We can't do this without a heal0r. *facepalms*
4. Teams (especially tanks) that are OVERLY cautious... and pull everything... one or two at a time. *facepalms again*

Blasters that attack a new spawn while standing with the rest of the team, while the Tank is aggroing a different spawn.
"Goodbye, Jean-Luc. I'm gonna miss you... you had such potential. But then again, all good things must come to an end..." -- Q
1. The person with the star holding up a team, because they're looking for a Defender. -.-
2. People that chat incessantly, about ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!!!. STFUalready! Kyo will know one of those instances.
3. People that will not move out of LOS, now matter how often you tell them. Kind of defeats the purpose of 'pulling' if you're going to just stand there and let them snipe you. Hello!!! *knocks on brainpan* Anybody in there?!?
4. An anyone KB'ing tightly packed mobs.
5. Being told what powers I MUST take on my character.
First and foremost, Corruptors (Defenders too, but far less often) that worry about offense before support/debuff. I don't care if you have a full attack chain, but if you're level 22 on a */rad and don't even have Mutation (the rez), DELETE YOUR CHARACTER! GO BACK TO DOMINATOR/BRUTE!
Oh, the Brute/Tankers that still think Grant Invisibility is messing with their mojo. That's a big one. Illusion's Group Invisibility at least lowers your threat level, so that I can halfway understand. But if everyone gets the buff (Group Invisibility), what difference does it make? Everyone is generating less aggro.
ATs that actively volunteer to pull, but then don't break LOS.
People that freakout when I kite the AV after the tank dies.
Uh... Give me a bit, I'm sure I'll think of a few more.
Hm.
I have a level 37 plant / rad controller without rez.
Because I solo, dear. It's one less power I won't be using, so...
That said: ANCHOR KILLERS.

If you're never on a team, it's not an issue.
But I can and will bury the hatchet in your head if we're on the same team.

Empaths without fort or CM - that bothers me. Empaths with the medicine pool... that causes much gnashing of teeth.
Teams that wait for not a defender, but a HEALER drive me insane. I personally find that having a 'healer' on the team makes for reckless play, and people expect the 'healer' to be able to save the team from themselves. I find debt is a wonderful teaching tool.
DM/DA scrappers in red costumes that use fly.
:P

People who feel entitled to a TP, rez, buff, etc. Just because I CAN TP you, rez you, buff you...doesn't mean I HAVE to and doesn't mean I'm not in the middle of helping the rest of the team, the ones who didn't decide to go all kamikaze and run off on their own.
Also, people who send a tell asking to join the team, then try to take over a group that's been running together as a team for months. We know what we're doing. Try not to get lost. If you don't have the star, if it isn't your mission, and if you're not the tank-and especially if you have nothing important to contribute outside of "LOL u guys shud listen 2 me!"-shush or go find another team.
People who can't follow directions. If the tank says "Wait here and I'll herd them up so we can AoE them to death," then for crying out loud WAIT. And when he or she DOES get them all herded up, don't KB them all over the damn place before we get control down.
People who run off on their own, get killed, and then demand to know where the rest of the team is. The answer is "following the tank", usually.
People with no sense of humor...at all. The people who don't talk to the rest of the team, think no one should be enjoying themselves in a mission, don't contribute to the general atmosphere of having fun, and think we're crazy for occasionally getting ourselves killed in weird ways for the hell of it. Generally, people who are just plain no fun. This is probably my biggest pet peeve-anything else I can deal with or laugh off or just ask them to stop, but this is just hardwired into some peoples' personalities.
It's just a game.
I don't care. I have no leadway on this if you team. There is no breaking me. You do not need Neutrino Bolt, X-Ray Beam, and Cosmic Burst (assuming you already took one or two of the early AOEs). You do not have to pick two prerequisite moves to get a weak rez that brings someone back with no end. It is one move, get the damn rez, it is not going to ruin your build.
People that stop to eat in the middle of a team. Not to get some food from the kitchen, I'm okay with that. That's like five minutes. But actually walk away from the game to go eat dinner. I'm ninety-seven percent sure there's a desk in front of you. And if you're expected to eat with the family (which is completely understandable), then why are you playing so close to dinner time?
People that try to stop the team to explain to someone how to play the game when that person isn't listening. Now if that person is listening, fine. We all had to learn somehow. It might not be the most conventional method, but that person might be trying really hard and is just having a hard time. They may not get another opportunity like this. But if they don't care, shut up. I know you're upset, I am too. But if they're above level thirty and they got this far, they obviously don't care. Deal with it, get them kicked from the team, or leave. Preferably the first option on a TF.
Which is another thing that's come up a couple of times. People that leave a TF because of a fight. TF/SF time is serious time. Sure, we can have some fun, some laughs, no problem. But at the end of the day, I either want to win the damn thing, or get to the end and realize that we just can't do it with our team's dynamics (which I'm fine with, it happens). If two people aren't getting along, one of them needs to do the adult thing and just stop responding to the other.
If you joined the TF, I expect two things of you. One, bar emergencies or previous notification, I expect you to stay to the end (or until there's a concensus that we can't go any further). And two, I expect you to function as a team holding no grudges. I don't care how many times you've rezed the idiot scrapper, if they're the only one that's dead and your rez is recharged, rez them. I don't care how much the controller ****ed you off when they said defenders are useless, if they get hit, heal them. And I certainly don't care if you think it's someone's fault that you got killed, if you see them getting hit, disengage, target the enemy that's hitting them, and save them. This is a team game. We aren't always going to like the people on our team. Being passive aggressive isn't going to teach anyone a lesson.
Edited for gender ambiguity.
I just joined the game yesterday and played on my first team up last night playing a defender. Had fun doing it, but I'm sure I made my share of newbie mistakes. I'm still getting a handle on chats, tells, etc. I'm a little slow sometimes in reacting--especially if there's a lot of stuff going on. I'm sure I'll improve as I continue to play the game. Your comments here help, but if you see my character playing on your team and I screw up, please feel free to pull me aside after the fireworks and tell me what I've done wrong.
I'm pretty sure everyone has been on a team with someone they didn't know (or someone they did know) that was constantly doing something that irritated them as a player.
Anyone who knows me knows I hate knockback, and it drives me crazy when emps (or rads) rock the aura non-stop through a mission, even when the team isn't fighting. Of course, these people think they're the b357 h3470rz evah!
Please don't use names, but I am curious - what in-game playstyle, or powers really drive you crazy?
