New Customized Brute Concepts?
You know, why not post screen shots now that they're visible right on the page.
With color and animation customization my new Brute looks like he's Radiation Melee/Radiation Armor instead of Silly Strength/Not-Electric Armor.

My Claws/SR Blutzkrieg has made use of the new power colouring. Red auras to match the red and black costume making it seems like she moves so fast she becomes blurry.
My Dark/FA Thief of Life gets her powers from the blood of her foes. So with power customisation it looks like she is literally ripping the blood from them and using it in a variety of shields. I am particually impressed by the way Healing flames looks when you tint it red as a "blood heal" and how the other shields look as if she is constantly surrounded by an aura of blood. I am loving it much more fun than many of my other characters.
My lumbering, rotting undead zombie WP brute no longer glows bright yellow! Woo! He was all a bit Twilight until i16. Now with a reddish Dark WP theme which is barely noticable he looks much better.
Bolt Cutter, my Claws/Elec Freakshow Brute has her Elec tinted light yellow and violet and it looks excellent.
Poor Crom Cruaich, my Stone/Fire Brute is currently a horrible, eye-scorching mess though. Must refix his powers. I made a horrible mess of them.
Maximilliean - WillPower/Electric Melee Tank(5) and a Energy Melee/Electric Armor Brute(8) have matching colors for their electric powers since according to thier background the accident that gave Max his Electric powers also split him into a light side and a dark side. I left the Willpower colors alone since the tanker's costume is accented with gold and made the brute's energy melee colors match the electric armor.
Crunch. - Stone Melee/Willpower Brute(50) Since he is made out of living rock I adjusted his stone melee powers to match the colors of his arms and hands. I'm thinkinig of changing the mallets to the crystal scheme and try to make them look like Diamonds or Emeralds.
Well, my main Tanker and Brute are the same character, just one's an alternate universe version where his buddies got killed and he went underground to escape the "real villain". So they both now have blue energy instead of yellow and whatever for SS/Inv. And minimal FX where available.
I haven't customized any of my other Brutes, though. I'm still trying to decide what I'm going to do with my werewolf, I'm definately recreating him as a Claws/WP once GR comes out, but I will probably keep the current EM/WP version. I'm not sure what to do with the EM, I had come up with the explanation that it is heat coming off of his "chains", but until it had been mentioned tying WP to that some color theme, I hadn't really thought of that. Maybe I will see what a Dark theme with reddish heat colors will look like.
I've gotta say, though, a character based on Rikki Tikki Tavi is awesome.
Also, while I'm thinking about it, (and maybe to remind myself) he has a female counterpart that is my sister's character. One reason I'm waiting to recreate him is I want to create them both as a levelling pact, and make him a Brute and her a Scrapper, with both starting Going Rogue as Neutrals. The version I am keeping, though, I will probably go ahead and recreate his lady version as Claws, since they aren't in a levelling pact, and she only got to level 10. (He's 25)
I can't get pictures right now, but I colored SS and EA blue/light blue and put it on my Aquakid for a water melee/water armor look.

My Dark/fire Brute. Carcharoth the Wolf, fuels himself on other peoples negative emotions. I can't tell you how thrilled I am that he finally has a black/blood red aura, instead of the normal fire aura.
All my Fire Armor characters had their Blazing Aura changed to black since it's less irritating to me. And looks kind of creepy for a good bonus.
Queen of the Inferno now uses the Greater Fire Sword for all attacks in her max height armored costume; it just fits.
My Dark/Shield Darquesoul now uses blue Soul Drain, green punches and blood red Siphon Life for a more magic look; she also has the tribal shield.
Shatterstorm my Stone/Elec now has blue, purple and white electricity. His Stone attacks are grey with pale blue cracks lava themed, since he supposedly condenses them out of dust and debris using electrical fields.
My Stone/Fire got himself some nice lava hammers to match his fire armor.
Mister Fist the SS/WP got minimal FX, and the Ground Punch.
Arc #40529 : The Furies of the Earth
Tavi is especially appropriate in the early levels where you're fighting all those freakin SNAKES!
My radioactive giant looks smashing with green Superstrength and green Fiery Aura.
Winner of Players' Choice Best Villainous Arc 2010: Fear and Loathing on Striga; ID #350522
Smoke Stacked, my DM/FA Brute now has the basic armour still the normal fire colours but I set all the DM attacks and my other shields to different greys so it looks like she's using Smoke offensively.
Where are the pics!?!?!
I just got the Science Booster Pack (I've was away for awhile) so now Crunch has his normal short/huge form and a GIANT/huge form when he's really pissed.
If I remember I will snap a few screen shots tonight and post them.
My.. I think 4th, maybe 5th now Elec/Elec Brute (I'd have to double check a couple servers where one of the old versions may still be hiding) is going with more of a traditional white/gold to light blue style of lightning, since he's meant to be a Frankenstien's Monster style flesh golem rather than having ties to Mu, like all my others so far. Unfortunately, it looks like I'll hit the 40's with him before power customization hits the epic pools, so he'll be stuck with old fashioned red mu blasts.

I have a dark/EA brute now called Water Elemental, with all his powers tinted blue.
The dark attack animations look a lot like flowing or splashing water, when tinted appropriately. I'm happy with the concept and the way the game engine allows me to execute it; I'll be even happier once he's got his energy cloak and his humanoid shape gives way to a more "misty" look.
Hi all. I ran across a thread in the Controllers forum about this, and wanted to know what new creations you have realized with i16s power customization on your brutes. I, for one, was very impressed with the way my homage to Riki Tiki Tavi turned out - a Claws/Electric Armor Brute I started a couple days ago. His name is Ricity Tavi, reflective of the Electric decision.
Yes, I know to be literal, I should have chosen either /SR or /WP, but I wanted to try something new. I fully intended to build out the toon as /Elec and when I saw how he didn't represent my vision, deleting him and going with /WP or /SR. But with power customization, that didn't happen.
I used the "dark electric" theme choice, and color tinted his powers so they're a combination of his body color and dark blood red. The result is a toon that looks like he's coursing with "natural" electricity/quickness, and who appears to have an aura around him for his shields. Very HP Lovecraft, in a way, how tendrils of what looks like blood leap out from his body, as if the power is part of his being.
I was happy with the resulting look, which was only possible as a result of power customization, and ended up keeping (and so far loving) this new Brute. Has anyone else had good thematic success?
