  1. I'm currently having a lot of fun leveling an Ar/Ment.
  2. No primaries really come to mind when I try to think of one that isn't as good as the others, but I have to agree that, due to the animation times, EM is fairly lackluster, although I'm sure there are still people who play the set well.

The only other sets I can think of that would be underpowered are sets that have a tough time building fury, maybe BA or stone?
  3. DM/WP would probably be good, but I've heard that DM/Elec/soul is even better at Rikti stomping.
  4. I'm currently leveling a DM/FA brute, only got him to lvl 30 so far, but he's tons of fun. He preforms pretty well, both solo and teaming. It's pretty squishy at first, but that's not really too much of a problem now. The damage output is pretty nice, DM builds fury really fast, and once I've picked up Mu mastery, I can tell he'll be a fantastic farming toon, especially with burn and the AoE damage boosts in the mix. Never tried tanking any TF's on him, so no advice for you there.
  5. Ok, rolled up a DB/Inv scrapper, only level 8 right now, but so far so good. Thanks!
  6. Hello fellow scrappers, once again, i'm looking for a new project. My aim is a more tank-ish scrapper, that is also capable of taking down AV's. Currently I have a spines/SR, and a fire/SD scrapper, as well as a DM/FA brute. I WOULD just make a tanker, but I'd like something a little less slow outside of a team.

As the thread title indicates, I was considering a DB/Inv. I definitely want Invulnerability as my secondary, but I only really chose Dual Blades because it fit my characters concept, although I'm also considering Broadsword and Martial Arts. I'm not exactly rolling in Inf, but all my other toons are capable of farming pretty well, so I plan on being able to get some decent IO's for this char.
    Any recommendations/advice?

This, my Spines/SR scrapper does great solo, just have to watch out for AV's. I imagine elec/SR would preform similarly.
  8. my main is a spines/SR who is a decent off-tank, but with the taunt aura and resists of Inv., he'd be an even better tank.

So yeah, another vote for spines/Inv.
  9. My main is a Spines/SR with metal spines. My concept for him is that he's a genetic experiment gone wrong, the scientists were trying to create a soldier with an exoskeleton, but instead of plating his skin, the bones just stick out. He's pre-i16, so I had to come up with some reason for his spines to all of a sudden be metal, long story short, he saved a scientist working on creating a techno-organism who offered to plate his skeleton as payment.
  10. My main is a Spines/SR scrapper, and I love playing him. However, I think Inv meshes better with Spines, although I've never really played the combo.
  11. My Dark/fire Brute. Carcharoth the Wolf, fuels himself on other peoples negative emotions. I can't tell you how thrilled I am that he finally has a black/blood red aura, instead of the normal fire aura.
  12. I have a friend who loves his Claws/Dark, but I'm not sure if I want to deal with the crazy end problems of */DA. I might just try out a claws/fire for the hell of it, sounds like a cool combo. But for an AV soloing toon, I may have to roll a Claws/Inv at some point. Also, with elec/elec coming over, how would a DM/Elec be?
  13. Hmm... Claws/Fire/Blaze sounds like it would be pretty awesome, but I don't know if I'd be able to solo AV's with it... Claws/Inv has appealed to me, but how expensive does it get?
  14. So, as the title says, I'm looking for a new Scrapper to play. I team primarily with a Spines/SR scrapper, and a DM/fire brute, but I've been wanting a character to solo with. I'd like this character to be able to take down AV's, although I'm not exactly rolling in Inf. My Spines/SR is a decent farmer, so I can work it up if I absolutely need to. BUT, I would like to try and keep it relatively cheap.

For primaries, I was considering maybe DM, because I've had fun with the set on my Brute, or MA, and possibly fire, since I know fire/SR is a fairly inexpensive build. I'm also wondering how well Claws does with AV's, cause that seems like a set that could match the fun-factor of spines.
For secondaries, I'm more open to suggestions, although I would like to stay away from another /SR. I like the set, but it's been very demanding on my main.

    Sooooo, any advice?
  15. I know I'm abit late to post, but I've got a DM/fire Brute who is AWESOME. I'm willing to bet that DM/fire is just as good on a scrapper.

They want OUR sets more than I want theirs...
This. I've lost count of how many times I've heard a scrapper wish they had EM or SS.
  19. I second going with MA/regen for a Spongebob themed character.

    Dual Pistols....

I have to say that when I picked up the game, I was thinking about making a character with pistols and a more defensive secondary. Now I hate the idea of having pistols as a scrapper primary, and am comforted by the fact that it will never happen.

    Electric Armor

I'm definitely gonna have to try a */elec scrapper now, just not sure whether to go Katana or Spines...
  22. I rolled up a Fire/regen scrapper, wasn't so sure I'd have the Inf. to IO him out, then had some random person give me 30 mil. (I never turn down free money)
  23. I decided to roll up a EM/Inv Brute, and have been having a blast with him. He's currently level 9, I plan on soloing alot with this character, and as the title says, I was wondering what abilities are skip-able, and which are must haves.
My current attack chain is EP>Air SUpp.>Barrage>BS, not sure if I want to grab whirling hands, and I'll probably skip TF because of the long animation.
As for Inv, I plan on taking most of the set, the only ones I'm still not sure about are Resist energies, and Dull pain.
    Any tips?

I'm almost scared to ask this... but do you think this means that we will be getting any new artwork for spines? *crosses fingers for Silver Mantis' metal spines*

    Thoughts on DM?

I second the awesomeness of DM/invuln. I'm currently leveling one in an ST, he does pretty good tanking and taking down bosses, but he's also awesome solo. The only problem I've had with him is his End occasionally runs low, but thats more than likely because I slotted him up for damage, not endurance.
