Thoughts on DM?
DM/Fire is a powerhouse.
Two heals,2 Buildups,a PBAoE toggle, two endurance management tools, fear. And its easy to come up with a villainous concept.
I've never made a DM/WP. Can't be bad though, as DM makes EVERYTHING better.
DM got some very nice buffs not to long ago(i12?) Siphon Life is a awesome attack as well as a heal. Soul Drain got buffed as well, although I can't remember what they did to it.
I'll let others comment on DM vs SS and EM.
DM is pretty sweet.
That avatar is.... hypnotic, Jackal.
DM is better than EM in every way, in my opinion.
As for SS, they're different sets. DM is a ST powerhouse, while SS is more balanced.
I'm leveling up a DM/WP right now actually. What I've noticed so far is that DM has some unorthodox attack powers. With the exception of its first two punch powers, all of the other attack powers are a heal, an immob, and shadow punch which is a cone with a 3 second activation time.
I'm loving my DM as I find that it is a very utilitarian set, but I wish I had more "regular" attack powers. As far as survivability however, it is fantastic with WP. I never run out of end, my heal hits hard for damage, and heals me pretty well, I have an immob, a fear, a buff....I could go on and on...
I think I like the sound of DM/WP. If my partner was making a brute, what sort of powerset combo should he roll if we were looking to best compliment eachothers' builds? I know a corrupter or something would be better, but he's very interested in playing a brute too.
If he had a more AoE heavy build, like FM or SS. You could take down the bosses/lts while he butchered the minions.
Although it will take till 26 or 32 respectively till he would get his AoE, but two brutes of any kind will still work fine together.

My last DM brute was DM/Shield and he is a beast. If you both made /Shield brutes you would feed off of each other very well.
DM/Shield has some of the best synergy among brute builds. DM fills in the heal and end recovery that Shields lacks and Shield Charge helps with DM's lack of AoE. Not to mention that the -to hit stacks with the DEF from Shields.
Level 50s: to many to remember at this point
I rolled a DM/Invul Brute.. the DM heal gives Invul what it lacks-although Dull pain helps. At this point (lvl 15) it is non stop only waiting for endurance regen if I don't have blues on me... bascially from spawn to spawn... much faster, killer than my lvl 19 elec/invul.
I can;t wait until 28+ with the DM/Invul
I second the awesomeness of DM/invuln. I'm currently leveling one in an ST, he does pretty good tanking and taking down bosses, but he's also awesome solo. The only problem I've had with him is his End occasionally runs low, but thats more than likely because I slotted him up for damage, not endurance.
I'm returning to the game after a long absence to mess around in the trial with a friend, and was thinking of making a DM/? spec. Most likely WP or fire. I've heard there were some recent changes to the powerset, and was wondering if it is comparable to old favorites like SS or EM, and what secondary it has synergy with.
