  1. I finally get the recipe I need, and now there aren't any circuit boards to be had anywhere!! AAARRRRRGGGGHHHHHH!!

Any suggestions for which type of baddies drop them?
  2. When I first login, if I go to the market or WW, I have no problems. It takes awhile to bring everything up, but I don't crash. If I go do some missions however, and then come back to the market, it will crash. Every single time.

Why is this? Can't this be fixed? I know some people don't have this problem, but I've spoken to and heard of many people having the same problem. It's been like this for as long as I can remember playing with the market too.

Is a fix in the works? Is this a known bug? I'm on Virtue by the way.
  3. Don't we all? Ha!

Really though, I want to purple out my Widow. I can't afford the prices on the market right now (I'm not complaining, I just don't have the patience to do the marketeer stuff), so I'm really relying on drops, or those lucky merit rolls where I get an LoTG that I can pawn for ~100mill.

Where are some good places or missions for me to look for purple drops? I have my Notoriety set on 4 so I get bigger spawns, and my widow is at 50 so I really don't need a team. I've been mowing through minions, lt's and a boss every now and then, but I am really having no luck. I need a good mission or area that has a crap ton of bosses and lt's, but doesn't require a 6 man team or anything.

I do sell the recipes I receive, but unless it is something really good I generally just price it at 1,111 influence and hope for the best.

I know you guys don't want to share your really top secret places, and I don't blame you. But if you have any second rate, or even third rate places, please shoot me a PM and help me out. I love my widow as is (completely IO'd), but I need MOAR POWAA!! Thanks!

    Check it all out man.

The only reason mines with so much is because i have purp sets, all 3 heal uniques, 5 lotg 7.5s etc.

That build you have is around a mills worth, not including the purp set you've put in.
My build is around a mills? As in 1 million? What black market are you shopping at?! Give me black market secrets...

Far to many slots in Elude, if your soft capped, you won't even use it, let alone 6 slot it.

You don't need to use touch of death, as you don't need so much melee defence my widow has around 65% defence to all 3 positionals including ML.

In spin slot 5 Scirrocos dervish, for the AoE defence, obliterations are a waste, you don't need the melee defence they give.

In foresight put in a steadfast +3% it'll give more defence the the 6 slotting you've done with red fortune.

Combat training defensive and mask pressence arn't capped with 3 lotgs, slot 2 lotgs an 2 gift of ancients, giving both recov an regen, my widow is at 28hp a sec, an 3.72 end a sec.

    Health isn't capped, you'll need 4 numinas.

Slot 3 blessing of zephrs an a stealth io in combat jump.

Loose soul tentacles, it's not needed, an a wasted power one slotted. your attacks do - run speed, so you dont need a hold power that much.

Stamina is ok, i've 5 slotted with efficancy adapters though.

So 1 slot elude, an use the slots in the above.

Fine tune it, my widow is fully pimped now, worth around 4bill in todays game, absolute love it, has taken 7 respecs to get it spot on though.

I don't post my build online, but feel free to message me for tips etc.
Thanks for the advice, but I was going for a semi-cheap build. That's why I really don't have any purps or LoTG slotted. The stuff you posted is great, but I can't afford it, I'm not much of a farmer, and I don't play the market.

Also, you don't have a travel power, not sure if you did that purposely or for concept reasons. If you drop hasten and pick up 20% more recharge you can keep mind link up all the time without it. That would leave you room for super jump (unless you were doing no travel powers for concept, didn't see it stated). Also the way you slotted attacks adds a lot of defense, but it does bad things to the attack chain if you wanted a continuous one, if you team and aren't looking to do really high-end stuff this isn't much of a concern.

Thanks for the advice. I will take the slots out of Elude and throw them into Combat Jumping. With Mental Training, Sprint, Hurdle, and Combat Jumping, I really don't need a travel power. I move very fast and can jump plenty high. I can also supplement that with Raptor Pack.
  7. Well that doesn't look right....

    eta: fixed it
  8. Hello all. This is my first time using Mids. I'm going for capped Def, perma Mind-Link obviously, and plenty of damage. I don't want a crazy expensive build. What do you guys think? Where can I improve it without breaking the bank?

Rarely is traffic sent directly between client and server. Generally, it is passed along from client to host, to host, to host. The amount of hops will vary. Packet loss and lag (a delay in the information being received between hosts) can happen any where along the route. Based on that route while it can be subjectively compared (I don't lag while playing on this game while I do here), it cannot really be objectively compared unless the path is identical which is just not going to happen. Then and only then can you compare them directly.

Which leads us to 3, if the lag is occurring somewhere in the route between your client and theirs it most certainly is not NCSoft's responsibility to fix it. Now they can certainly pinpoint the problem area based on problem reports submitted through customer service requests and reach out to the owner of the host with the problem. With the hope that they resolve it but, it is ultimately the owner of that hosts issue to resolve.

Regarding 4, as I have said before, others do not have this problem. This does not discount that you are or that others are. There are two problems with the statement: 1) it is just as anecdotal as saying I do not and neither do the people I talk to in game and 2) If it was specific to the Server itself then EVERYONE would have this issue, just as I stated before. I know that is not the case. Why? Because of my anecdotal evidence, I don't have the issue. You can believe it or not. Regardless, I have direct information that eliminates this as a cause. You saying others have it will not change that fact.

BTW, both Guardian and Justice are in the same location. It is unsurprising that both do not have lag for you.

Where is the evidence to support these claims? For all you know, it is a hardware driver issue on your computer or a problem somewhere between you and the server.

Please do. We can do without these cross-server spamming/whining posts.

Another helpful post. Yay. You want evidence? How about an entire server getting mapserved? I must be imaging all those other players asking "What just happened?! I DC'd! I got mapserv'd!"

    Fix the servers

Hello all. I have a thread going in the Developers section about NC Soft needing to fix their servers!!

Hundreds, probably thousands of people worldwide are having issues with the servers/mapserve/login, and enough is enough. We are PAYING CUSTOMERS. NC Soft/Paragon Studios needs to upgrade their servers or something to provide the quality product that we, the customers, ARE PAYING FOR.

Head on over to my thread and chime in with your server, and what kind of problem you are having.

Again, your evidence indicates that it is NOT Paragon Studios/NC Soft's problem.

EDIT: There is a config tool that was provided to us by NCS that actually tries connections to the various login servers and DBServers. Poke around a little and do some research.

While HER problem may not be due to Paragon Studios/NC Soft, there IS still a problem with the servers.

Even on non-2xWEs, the servers can start to become unstable on Sunday evening. They just get increasing unstable with hard use. That's why there's a server maintenance and reset every Mon and Fri. Again, it used to be worse and they had to have maintenance every day. Also, it used to be that one would expect a busy server like Virtue to crash every Sunday night.

I know that saying "it's not as bad now as it used to be," doesn't resolve anything... it's just the way things are. It would be like having a two hour wait to be seated at a very busy restaurant at a peak time at a peak season.

I can appreciate that, and I do understand. However, I am paying for a service. The excuse of "busy servers", just doesn't fly. Upgrade the product and service that I'm paying for. I don't want to whip out other MMO names, but I have played others that have never had issues as bad as COH.

It's just disappointing because I like the game so much. But if this continues I will take my money elsewhere. It's becoming aggravating. Why pay for something that aggravates you?
  16. Seriously. What is going on? Some kind of explanation as to why the servers suck would be appreciated.

I'm getting mapserved on a nightly basis. Lag is constant. Rubberbanding is expected now. When I don't get lag it's like I'm playing a whole new game.

And it's not just me. HUNDREDS of people, all over the world that love this game have the same ISSUES.

I'm not some whiny fanboi. I am a PAYING CUSTOMER. Fix your product, or I will take my money, and potentially your JOBS, somewhere else.

To all players tired of lag: Post your server and issues here.

Virtue - all of the problems above. AND ON DOUBLE XP WEEKEND. I SAY RE-DO DOUBLE XP WEEKEND.

    New to SoA's....

Hello all! I'll be dinging 50 within a day or two (hopefully) and I am really excited about rolling my first VEAT!!

What I am needing is advice on which one to roll. I play mostly solo, and I like toons that are decent on damage, but can survive a nuclear blast to the rectum. Any suggestions?

    Thoughts on DM?

I'm leveling up a DM/WP right now actually. What I've noticed so far is that DM has some unorthodox attack powers. With the exception of its first two punch powers, all of the other attack powers are a heal, an immob, and shadow punch which is a cone with a 3 second activation time.

I'm loving my DM as I find that it is a very utilitarian set, but I wish I had more "regular" attack powers. As far as survivability however, it is fantastic with WP. I never run out of end, my heal hits hard for damage, and heals me pretty well, I have an immob, a fear, a buff....I could go on and on...
  19. In the world of the intarwebs....it means Edited To Add. I'm in the aviation biz, I know what Estimated Time of Arrival is lol.
  20. My brute is at 19.5/hp sec with no powers active. Do you mean auto powers as well? Because I have a few of those going...

ETA: That's with no regen sets or anything yet.
  21. What are some good procs to get for my brute? I picked up a touch of death (I think), but need to get some more. I'm looking for damage, utility, and defensive procs. Thanks!
  22. Thanks for the info all.

I took both health and stamina. I'm running 5 toggles, and swinging for daylight, and my blue bar doesn't even go halfway down. Awesome. QR + Stamina = Energizer Bunny.
  23. I haven't played a VEAT yet (my brute is at 20 now), but my Khelds are pain in the butt to play. My WS even more so than my PB.

I run a triform with my WS, and in the course of one battle, I'll switch forms several times, mire a couple of times, try to pick out dead bodies to use Unchain Essence and to get my pets out, then when its over, drop back to human form so I can use Stygian Circle to heal myself. It's alot of work, but it's usually pretty fun.

After playing my kheld for a couple of hours though, I'll have to switch toons to my blaster or brute so I can go back to not thinking for a little while.
  24. I'm confusing myself here. How do the softcaps on defense and resists work? I'm playing a WP Brute, and I think someone said the softcap for defense if 45%...is that per power or per toon?

If I raise a certain power up past 45%, the rest is just a waste of slots basically?
