Does anyone have a checklist of what a “min-max” DM/SD build should have and rank these attributes accordingly? I know defense is the highest priority and then recharge for the top chain but what about regen, resist, +hp, etc?

1) Soft-capped positional defenses
2) Enough recharge for SM>SL>MG chain
3) Perma or near perma hasten
4) > 60% regen bonus?
5) > 33% S/L resist?
6) > 10% HP bonus?

I thought the best "reasonable" DM chain was MG>Smite>SL>Smite>repeat...

There is a better one?

I read in other posts that SM>MG>SM>SL is pretty good. Wish I knew how to plug that into a DPS formula to confirm it.

Goals? I really don't have any I haven't accomplished. Shield Charge and spring attack is great spike AoE damage and single target is solid. I guess my main concern is finding more accuracy without sacrificing much in the way of +hp, regen, and of course defense.

I would say:

1. Soft cap
2. Recharge for permanent hasten
3. >33% s/l resist
4. >10% HP bonus

You don't need 2 or 6 because with enough recharge for permanent hasten you have enough recharge for SM>SL>MG and with enough HP and recharge you can spam SL to save your life more so than a 60% passive regen bonus could.

4x8 with enemies with -tohit or +def. Normally the only reason I die is when I run in to a group that has those characteristics and can't take out enough of the group in time. Nemesis, and to a lesser extent carnies have been the biggest problem at 4x8 although I haven't attempted them since I slotted the kismet +6%.

So the two options would be increase damage somehow or increase accuracy so I miss less.

Newest version of my live build. Critiques welcome.

I don't use Smite in my attack Chain unless exempt (obviously), replaced with Fire Blast, therefore it's just a set mule unfortunately. End heavy without a doubt, but it's perfectly manageable so far through my various stress tests thanks to DC.

Here is my build, I both can't afford purples and the glad proc so I've tried to cram as much as possible into it without picking up these expensive shinies.

I'm pretty sure my endurance is sustainable if I'm in trouble I have both CP/OwTS to sort me out.

In my experience having a lot of passive regeneration is good but have SL it makes it not as useful as I would have thought. I'd shore up your S/L resistance more and probably your endurance recovery if you need it. Probably not with DC slotted for end recovery and CP. If you have the recharge to run Mg > Smite > SL I'd suggest slotting SL with three Gogli and three Nucleolus. Other than that it is a good build.

Yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaah! I was going to recommend using that one. I'll poke around more with your build later today or tomorrow I'm at work.

Unfortunately my DDR is shot I haven't confirmed whether or not AD's DDR will be enhanced by Membranes but I have a feeling it won't be. Right now I am sitting at 52% DDR which is probably about as high as I can get it with this current build. That means I will have to make a lot more use of OWtS and SC and SA.

I copied my DM/SD during one of the "working moments" of the copy tool and flipped over to test today. Membranes are officially no longer working to support AD, but I also have it double-stacked still and Grant Cover so he sits comfortably at 70%, ~53% without Grant Cover.

This is a DM/SD thread Cosmic.



Your character does not have capped defense. Depending on your AT the cap is between 175% - 225%. Your defense is not teal in the combat window, it can go higher. STOP SAYING IT IS CAPPED! The correct term is Soft Cap.
I enjoy playing in Mids. I specialize in Melee Characters, other AT's usually bore me.

Hey Sant and everybody, first off i just want to say that this is such a great thread I have been following on and off for almost 2 years now lol. So I've been away from the game for awhile but im back now and its time for a massive overhaul for my DM/shield. I was just wondering if you guys can take a look at two quick builds for me cause this is my favorite toon to play and I want him to be awesome lol. Nothing is set in stone so feel free to make any changes, also im pretty sure i am not making the best use the flexibility that the glad proc gives me ( not used to building with it ) but again any advice would help me.

Ok so i was thinking if im gonna with the glad proc might as well go balls to the wall and throw in some more purps-- With T4 spiritual it has perma soul drain ( 0.1 off but still perma lol) but again the issue is the endurance i don't know if it will be sustainable. I think this build makes better use of the glad proc :
