That looks pretty interesting. I just put this build together for fun its real expensive and has the IO proc but i just wanted to see how much the proc would actually help. I think that a build should be able to function with out Gladiators armor but this is pretty interesting for the high recharge and lower end drain. I put Armageddon in consumption instead of shield charge so that it frees up a space for an extra recharge reduction in consumption, im not sure if this is unnecessary but to me the most annoying thing is running out of end. I had to go with a health set in SL instead of frakenslotting it but i think the high recharge and soul drain can make up for the damage. But again this isnt possible with out the IO proc but maybe it can give someone an idea for their own build.

SL is your second best attack. Slot it for Damage. That alone makes this build a waste of influence for the PVP IO. If you're willing to invest in the PVP IO, there are many builds in this thread that use it and are proven to be excellent. If you have the PVP IO, the given for what is arguably the best SL slotting is 3 Golgi and 3 Nucleoulus HOs. SD and and recharge cannot and will not make up for leaving SL with zero damage enhancement. To give you a comparison: in your build SD is down 4.5 seconds. In the build I did it's down 6.1 seconds. Is 1.6 seconds worth gutting your second best attack's damage? No.

Also, slot the Armageddon into Shield Charge - and put in the Arma: damage proc and remove the Arma: Dam. The proc adds more damage than using the Arma: Dam and due to having the purple proc, the set will do more damage than a full Oblit set.

@Gaidin Im pretty new to mids and that was may first attempt at a build with the io proc. I would prob go with something closer to the build u posted earlier for my toon. I usaully roll with body mastery but i wanted to see what Blaze was all about. Thank you very much for your advice its more then helpful.

I took Sant's build as a starting point, and came up with this after much re-working. No PVP IOs. It's a better all-around build, but I used alot of HOs. It's soft-capped vs. all positions, has Siphon Life actually slotted for Heal, and unlike Sant's build, it can run the MG>Smite>SL>Smite attack chain. Sant's revision shorted MG's recharge. Hugely improved Acc even without SD running.

It's regen is lower than the other builds, but with SL slotted for Heal, you'll actually be gaining much more regen in combat. Finally, it only runs 0.96 EPS usage without Grant Cover on. GC can be situationally toggled on for Romans and such. OK, there's more, but you can see all the improvements easier by looking at the build.

Toying around with things some more. Found that you would get more Regen if you slot the Numina's in Health instead of True Grit. Going from 305% to 329%.

I don't have access to Mids right now but going by memory, the build had very little Heal enhancement in Health(one IO's worth?). Switching the slotting would reduce the total max HP since True Grit would lose alot of it's enhancement compared to a full set of Numina's. This may or may not actually lower the HP/sec regen, even though the regen percentile would go up, due to the loss of max HP. I'll have to take a look when I can use Mids.

No problem. It's a learning process, and I certainly wasn't a build pro when I first started using Mids. I got a lot of good ideas from people like Umbral and Werner before I felt that I could hold my own for build discussion and suggestion. I didn't go over your Body Mastery build since I though you were going for the Blaze one. If you want, I could tool around with it instead.

If you don't mind definitely let me know if the changes are better. An extra 20% Regen just by switching what I have in True Grit to Health would be nice.

I also have another question about my build. Would taking away one from Maneuvers and putting that slot in Midnight Grasp with a recharge reduction be more appealing? I would lose about 0.3 Def but still maintain soft cap, and Midnight Grasp would gain a little. Since my build lacks the recharge that Sants and others have with the PvP recipe.

It doesn't have the regen numbers you were talking about... I thought, perhaps I have an out-dated Mids and I'm missing something... I checked the website - it's down. If you would, please repost your build that you're referring to. Thanks!

Sure thing. This is basically the one I am running right now, with MID's showing it having a 305% Regen. That's with True Grit slotted with Numina's 6/6

Edit: Updated MID's now shows it at 296%

With this build all I am doing is switching what I have in Health to True Grit, and what was in True Grit to Health. It raised the Regen to 329%.
I verified that I do indeed have the latest Mids and even did a fresh install.

OK, so importing your builds, my Mids is showing only 272% (20.5 HP/sec and 1804 Max HP) for the first build and 296% (21.3 HP/sec and 1725 Max HP) for the second build. Even with inflated regen percentiles, you're not really gaining much in HP/sec and you're losing ~79 HP. Personally, I'd rather have more HP.

That said, I do not know why our regen values are not identical.

Yeah Mid's has been buggy lately, I've had a few instances where my defenses don't match up in game v.s. mid's.

Hearing this I decided to double check my numbers for what is in game and according to MID's. The numbers didn't add up on things. My melee and range were at 46% and my AoE was at 44%. While on MID's it says 47 for melee and range, then 45 for AoE...

Hey sorry ive been away for awhile, I slotted up my dm/sd with some of your suggestions for the blaze build and he is running smoothly now, so much fun to play. I switched some enzymes for cytoskeletons, to save some money, and switched some things around getting his end drain to .93 i had to sacrifice defense debuff res alil but im ok with that with the double stack AD and GC running i haven't run into many problems. Thanks again for the help. If you have time to take a look at the Body build i could use as much help as possible lol im not sure how to get some more recharge out of him with out sacrificing soft cap besides slotting SL with a mako's set and putting a heca. set in smite. I would also like to keep his res high and OWS because i think it can be useful in certain situations( cause with conserve energy theres basically no crash) but im not completely attached to it so any changes or suggestion would be welcome. Thanks again.

Actually I've decided to scrap making a PvP build for this guy.

I do however have a question about some slotting. When I finally get my hands on a Gladiator recipe my build will change just a little. Giving me some breathing room to move slots around. Putting a Armageddon set in Shield Charge instead of Obliteration to achieve a +5% more recharge. That would put me at a 137.5% recharge.

Now originally what this would also enable me to do is switch out the Mako's Bite set that is in Siphon Life and let me slot it with the Enzyms 3 Heal/End and 3 Acc/Dam. What I was wondering is would it be better off to perhaps keep the Mako's Bite in it, but the Mako's Bite in Smite, change to Crushing Impact to get another +5% setting me at 142.5% recharge.

What's more optimal to run the Midnight Grasp, Smite, Siphon Life, Smite attack chain. Would 137.5% be sufficient? Or is the 142.5% required to run is smoothly. With my current build (which does not have the Gladiators) I have a 132.5% recharge and while Hasten is down (13 seconds it is) I find myself having to wait just a bit to hit Midnight Grasp for the chain. Granted that is a small amount, but I think it could make a huge difference in the overall dps output I could produce.

Guess the difference would be a overall +5% more recharge, or making Siphon Life have 10% more to its heal.

To be quite frank And I'm not sure you'd want to PvP with your dark/shield character. Dark doesn't far well in PvP as it doesn't have a true build up type power, and shield doesn't offer enough defense to really get over the fact that everyone has + to hit in PvP. You'd have to spend a lot shoring up your defense, +hp, + rech, + recovery to really be competitive.

You need a total of 234.2% recharge in MG for the chain, so take whatever your global recharge is and add it to the recharge enhancement you have in MG to get the total.

For example, in my live build, I have 147.5% global(including Hasten) and 87.71% recharge enhancement in MG for a total of 235.21%.

If you have a Mako's set in SL, you will gain a tremendous amount of survivability by slotting SL with Heal enhancement: ~40 HP/sec effective regen in combat. I would slot SL with heal enhancement regardless of how you re-work the build.

Cool I'll look into that. Was never sure how people managed 200%+ in recharge. lol Knowing IS half they battle.

At the moment I need SL slotted with the Mako set to maintain soft cap in range defense. But once I get the gladiator recipe I will have some breathing room.

I have to also point out that unless you're doing arena fighting you won't be using damage chains much in zone pvp. The majority of the fighting is quick in and out and they're gone.

Looking for some of yalls builds I've tried to toy with things to get more recharge. I've found a way to accomplish this. It maintains soft cap to all three defenses and gets 10% more recharge than my current build. Lose some End recovery and Health, as well as having to drop the Kismet unique. But I do run Tactics constantly so hopefully that won't effect things too bad. I'd like yalls input on if the recharge gained is worth it. These are still builds without the pvp recipe. >_<

Here's my build. I borrowed heavily from a Electric Shield scrapper build. He has 167.5% recharge and is softcapped. Probably use him as a farmer until GR then I will use my brute.

The only small change to the second build I'd make is to put an end red into AAo rather than a taunt to lower your end con. I'm not sure if the duration of the buff is effected by the taunt enhancement or it is just the taunt portion being enhanced. I'm going to go out on a limb and assume that it is only the taunt portion.

I see you came to the dark side muhahaha! Welcome! I have to ask what are your plans for this character? Doing a lot of teaming, soloing AVs, soloing TFs, etc...?
