I just opened my mids and checked for updates and it said there were none. IT cannot be the official mids that is updated then.

They, those who took the project over, aren't using the updater any more. You have to d/l a fresh copy when it is updated.

So are we going to have to re-download a new version of mids EVERY time a patch is put in the game?

Also, no.
FYI there is an error with shield defense -> phalanx fighting.
It is not providing a ranged defense bonus.
To fix this I did the following:
Click Options -> Advanced -> Database editor
Main Database Editor
Select Scrapper_Defense -> Shield_defense -> Phalanx_Fighting
Click on edit below the third column
Choose the effects tab
Select the 5 line down
Click edit
Set the modifier table: to Ranged_Buff_Def
Set Affects: to Self
Click okay, okay , save & close.
You need to turn the ability off and on for changes to show.

The old Mids' update checking points at a different place than the new Mids--the project was basically taken over. That's why you have to manually download this time, but not afterwards.
It says that travel powers are available at level 6 now. Is that true? Because I have been gone for like 3 issues and just got the game back up today and the servers are down so I cant check.
It is a Veteran Reward to be able to get Travel pool powers (tier 1,2, & 3 powers) at level 6. I forgot which month it is for (60 months?).
Edit: Yup, verified it's at 60 months: City Traveler.

If it means you have to redownload, reinstall, move the files you saved from builds and replace them when its re-installed. Then yeah, it is a major pain.

I dont' think so. Just in case you were right, I went ahead and downloaded it again...same problem. Not sure what's going on...

Just for the heck of it, could you give me link to where you got yours from...I'm out of ideas here...I'm sure it's the same link in this thread...I followed that one at first and then the one posted on the titan site...

In the unofficial, Super Jump was showing up before Combat Jumping...I know they have "fixed" this since then for the official version.
I managed to find a temporary work around by just alt+clicking on Adrenalin Boost and selecting Physical Perfection. It works but then Energy Torrent says that it's not available in game this way.
Who knows what's it doing to the numbers.........

I did notice 1 small mistake. Shield Defense, Phalanx Fighting is not properly displaying Ranged defense when set to zero allies. I fixed mine by going into -
Options - Advanced - Database Editor - Main database editor - Scrapper Defense - Shield Defense - double click Phalanx Fighting - Effects tab - double click 3.75% Defense(Ranged) - Affects set to NONE. OK - OK - Save and Close.
