How's this for no HO's, PVP's or Purples?
This toon will be used for regular team play, some TF's here and there and farming. No AV's, Pylon or anything.
The only thing that really worries me so far is the end recovery/end drain. I thought about dropping Blaze Mastery for Body Mastery but I'd really like to have a Scrapper w/out Body Mastery for a change and I'm loving Fireball so far.

Buff it all with saturated Against All Odds, and poof, a primary with mediocre AoE becomes an AoE powerhouse. But yeah, put it all together, and it sure works.
I did a quick test respec last night and at least got the powers I wanted just to see them in action. I didn't know what I was doing at all when I originally leveled him and he is full of Level 50 SO's.
I was really impressed! Of course, my end recovery sucks right now but this was just a test. I've been a /WP and /SR addict for so long...now /SD is creeping into everything I wanna build!

...so I need to either get more recharge to double stack or make more money so I can afford better stuff...got it.
Would it be a huge mistake to pull a couple of those Miracles out of Health so I can add the slots to Hasten?
Of course if I do that, end sustainablitity is going to get even more rough... -
When you're not able to reach the cap for DDR, what is considered "acceptable?"

The more I read up on FM/SD the more that it sounds like it's great for ST damage even though everyone lists it as one of the better all-around AOE Scrappers.
Of course, the idea of saturated AAO combined with FSC sounds really fun.
Is the combo or FSC and SC really worth the investment for AOE damage compared to say an Elec/SD for an all-around AOE Scrapper? -

I'm bored at work today which is why I keep posting all of these crazy builds. heh
I have a Kat/DA sitting at lvl 29 and I have no clue what to do with him. After looking around on the forums, all I found were a few threads with some really expensive builds.
I wanted to come up with a build just for regular, Level 50 content and maybe some TF's...mostly solo with some teaming here and there. Not looking to do anything fancy at all.
Again, I have NO clue what I'm doing with /DA...how far off am I? I'm sure it's a wreck but it was kinda fun trying to put it together. The frustrating thing is that it seems I really had to gimp some of my attacks to get whatever bonus I was looking for.

This isn't a request for build help...but MIDS help. Maybe I should put this in another thread but I trust you guys so...there ya go.
I started my respec for my Kat/SR last night (woot!) and I'm down to getting my last LOTG 7.5 and a few misc. regular IO's.
The problem is that my Melee Def is at like 52 or something like that on live but only 48.8 in MIDS...and I've followed the build exactly...and it's not even done yet!
I'm not that great with MIDS so I was hoping someone could take a look and tell me if there is a setting that I'm missing or what.
I was unable to download the new MIDS update for some reason...I'm not sure if that has anything to do with it though. It seems like I would have read about a problem like that somewhere on the forums if it existed.
I'm sure it's probably just user error but I can't find the problem.

I decided to make both and see which one I like better...and I can't make up my mind. I've only played them both to lvl 6 so far and that's not much to go on.
It does feel like the Brute is doing more damage but from what I've read about Brutes, the fury bar feels stronger in the lower levels than in the higher ones.
If I do go Brute, I'll be bringing him hero-side ASAP for Pyre Mastery.
I wanted to try and make a toon that wasn't a Scrapper for once but...it's...difficult. heh -
Are there any particular advantages/disadvantages to making a FM/SR Scrapper vs. a FM/SR Brute?
...just thought I'd get some opinions before I make one. -

I'm finally nearing the completion of my Kat/SR and felt it was time to start working on a good AOE toon.
I based the majority of this build off of Fury Flachette's thread on Elec and FM/SD builds for any budget. This is based off of the moderate build.
I definitely feel this build could be improved upon. After reading through the forums a bit, it seems that the general consensus on Melt Armor is that it's worthless. I kept it in the build just so I could get the Melee and AOE bonus from the Shield Breaker set.
I didn't really want Hover...I just had an extra power to choose. Also, I didn't know what to do with One With The Shield so I just threw that Perf Shifter Proc in there because. It seems most /SD's that I've seen skip OWTS anyways.
Any suggestions????

Quote:Ya, I tried to make some changes but they were all inferior to what you had. The original build was in I18 mids so there were some extra slots set aside for Stamina. All I did was switch Aid Other to Stimulant and 6-slot Stamina with the Perf Shifter set for the AOE bonus since it wasn't quite softcapped.It looks like the only thing you changed from the build I put together was taking Stimulant instead of Aid Other. I would think Aid Other would come in useful more often than Stimulant, but I could be wrong. In looking over it again, I don't see anything that could be greatly improved, though I'd really reccommend getting the +HP Accolades: +HP really helps /SR survivability.
Now go kill some AVs!

Do you guys think it would be worthwhile to put a Winters Gift: Slow Resistance into SS?
I finally have the cash to make this build happen and I plan on starting it tonight. After all of this time on the forums I have yet to attempt any AV soloing, Pylons...anything. What would be a good starting point for this build?

Seriously, no one is going to make fun of you, even if you post an absolutely horrid build. If anyone does, the rest of us would certainly jump on him.
In general, though, you get a lot more help out of people when you put effort into it first. I don't really hand out any sort of build, but I'm not going to hold back advice, as you saw in my first post. If you post a build, I'll tell you how I think you can improve it. I'm not going to give you a build. I think most of the people who can help you follow this same philosophy.
Plus, the OP stated that they were really confused. I can understand that since I'm in the process of digging through pages and pages of stuff right now for info on a certain build or two myself. It gets frustrating trying to determine which build to get your inspiration from when you've finally found a handfull of builds across 10 pages of forum speak and everyone has a different opinion.
However, I still believe it's best to try and make the build yourself...you learn more that way. With that in mind, I thought that your original response was very helpful to that end. -
...not quite what you asked for but I was toying around with a lvl 50 regular IO build yesterday. I'm not sure if its' the best build at all but maybe it'll help...for what its' worth.
