So.....what do you do/play during downtime?

Left 4 Dead, Champions Online, Company of Heroes, Bejeweled (2!), or Freecell.

They all laughed at me when I said I wanted to be a comedian.
But I showed them, and nobody's laughing at me now!

Since I don't go to work until after noon, I sleep in, when I wake up, I watch a DVD and if I still have time, check on game then go to work.

Forums and work. One of the benefits/curses of being a sysadmin is that I get to access work regardless of whether I'm at work. Of course, the flip side is that I have no moral issues with surfing the net while I'm at work because of this fact.

Other games: Left4Dead. Waiting for the new Mechwarrior.

Be well, people of CoH.

I'm never around for the downtime - I play in the evening, so I guess what I do is just normal non-game stuff that I'd be doing anyway .p

Work, school, sleep, yadda yadda, but after that:

I haven't been playing the game much lately. Okay, truth to tell I never have been all that hardcore about it, I'll go days between logins sometimes. I jump around between several different games (Oblivion, Fallout 3, Titan Quest, online f2p stuff, waiting to download Dungeon Fighter Online today). Sometimes I blow games off entirely and read TVTropes again, or these blasted forums. On weekends I find stuff to do outside during the day.

I read, play older offline games (like Exile.Avernum series, Battle middle earth, darklord rising) or go outside to look at the yellow thing.

I don't suffer from altitis, I enjoy every minute of it.

Thank you Devs & Community people for a great game.

So sad to be ending ):

My alternate game these days is The Sims 3.

I still have Guild Wars, but it's been a very long time since I've been in the mood to play it. And I'm pretty much done with Spore, which was fun for a while but fairly disappointing.

Well, since the Majesty 2 demo dropped, I've been playing that. Majesty is still to this day my favorite game of all time, so...

I've recently been playing Sins of a Solar Empire. Good space RTS, reminiscent of HomeWorld and Hegemonia, and, like those, it takes *forever* to do the simplest of tasks. Fun, though, and watching battles feels epic.

Dwarf Fortress is also a good distraction. I've built up a fortress that's mostly stable (only one tantrum spiral in three years), and I've begun a project to whittle down the mountainside. That project could take another ten years or so; it's hard to say.

Installed Windows 7, so I'm testing out what does and doesn't work on the new system. Most MMOs seem to function just fine, but Titan Quest will just randomly crash to desktop.

Just finished Fallout 3. That goes on the shelf for a few months before I replay it for the evil ending.

Basically, I bounce around, play a series of different games, and hover around my favorites. Occasionally write, when I feel inspired. Go out into the big blue room to get a dose of melatonin to stay reasonably healthy. Go to work. Kiss a girl. Then come back in to see if City of Heroes is up and ready to play yet!

I watch stuff on Hulu or boot up one of my dozens of games that I've never finished or even played once. Heck, the only time I DO play most of my console games is when CoX is down or I'm taking a small break.

When I'm at work, I surf the forums, and I occasionally work, too.

When I'm home, I'm currently playing Red Faction: Guerilla. I LOVE this game. Just yesterday I drove an APC into a building and when I came out the hatch, I was on the second floor. Another time, I made my own entrance to a wall with the lovely power hammer, only to find out I killed an EDF soldier who was apparently leaning on it. Oops? And then instead of climbing on the second floor to shoot a bunch of soldiers, I used explosives to collapse the ceiling and bring the whole second floor down to ground level. I also used a huge chimney, blown up with precision, to destroy a large structure.

I just love how this game feels. Doors? Who needs doors when you have a HAMMER?!? That huge rampart protecting that fortress? All it does is slow me down a bit as I hammer through all four layers of it, plus whatever struts are inside holding the thing up. That building with the heavily-guarded, entrenched entrance? Don't need it. A flat section of wall will do. On the roof and you need a way in? Who needs hatches, just hammer at your feet and go. In fact, I had the misfortune of accidentally hammering a roof exactly where the single support pillar connected, snapping that, which caused the whole roof, with me on it, to collapse in.

Fun times.

Right around the time the servers come back up, I'll be stepping in front of my first class for the day. I should have time to play a bit over lunch, then it'll be meetings & my second class. Maybe tonight I'll have time, but I wouldn't count on it. This is a very busy week.

Really? I'm intrigued. I've heard practically zip about the game since it came out. Which at the time I'd heard it garnered 3 stars and 2 yawns. I'm interested in your take on why its awesome.

I've got a console...original Atari 2600. I'm waiting for Halo to come out on it.

I throw on a trench coat and ball cap. Then I go out and loiter outside my local convenience store playing weird music while my buddy harasses the customers. Oh... Nevermind, I'm at work.

The extended downtime gave me an excuse to remove more of that woodchip wallpaper in the spare room.

Currently working on updating my command list (see sig) for i16. I also have a job application form to fill in, deadline for that is tomorrow. And if I fail to do that I'll be playing TF2.

Having Vengeance and Fallout slotted for recharge means never having to say you're sorry.
