come on devs...pvp recipes are almost extinct

Wow. This is a no win kinda thread. Although I most certainly agree that getting pvp recipes is insanely hard if you do it the way it was intended by pvp'ng, but you can still get them by farming.

I see two problems here and one rest with the devs the other with us players.

First off, the pvp recipe was supposed to get the player base interested and fired up about pvp again, but hardly anyone likes to pvp at all(except on Freedom), so it hasn't worked. Since I13, pvp has essentially died in most cases to all but the good toon builders. Before that terrible mistake more people pvp'd. With the low number of people playing pvp the average player will be lucky to EVER see a pvp recipe the way they were intended to drop. Why is this? Because the devs are again scared to death that farming will ruin their drop rate. So they made intentionally insanely hard to get them. So right off the bat the drop rate was made on a scale that was built based upon farming numbers. If you sat in a pvp zone and just killed each other over and over again with trays full of rez's, you get your scale. As Castle said 1-10/per minute ratio which makes it about 1 drop every minute based on 10 kills per minute,.......so they made it more like a 250-1/per drop ratio or 225 - 250 pvp kills per drop. This is as close as I can figure it now (and that's not an exact number, but the best round about one I can figure). I base this on pvp experience, farming and pvp training. So the drop rate was doomed from the start due to dev paranoia of exploitation and not to "actually" get people to pvp again.

This leads me to the second issue, which is a player problem. Pvp Farming of recipes. Pure and simple. The drop rate is such that you are forced to farm to get pvp recipes. No way around it unless you are rich from "farming AE", so where do we go from here? Nowhere that's where. heheheh I mean it's a no win situation for us as players cause the drop rate won't change. And Farming(grinding in this case) can't be stopped as long as things are so hard to get.

These pvp recipes are great, they really are but wow they are hard to get, which is exactly what the devs want and exactly why the recipes will be farmed to get. The only solution I see is somehow turning the pvp reputation into a meter or scale or something that allows for tkts or merits which can be redeemed into these allusive pvp recipes. Yeah, it's not perfect and can still be exploited but not to the extent of what's already being done to get these recipes. At what point in your pvp rep would you get tokens or merits would have to be worked out and all, but at least it's an idea thats a little bit more fair to the lower populated servers. At least to me it seems so.

Anyway, that's my thought on it. Just a overview and not too terribly in depth.

...sorry. Couldn't help it.

so basically Nethergoat's main point that it is easy to get inf in this game, and most people don't use or need a dual spec, and that AE farming has INCREASED non-purple drops was correct.

gotcha.

You say ridiculous things, you catch flack for it.
You respond to the flack with hysterics, you get more flack.

I don't have the time or inclination to provide 'proof' for things that are self evident to any rational observer of the game. The sky is blue, water is wet- if you don't believe me, look for yourself. I don't need to write a textbook to make it true.

"Hysterics," huh? LoL. You don't have a lot of life experience do 'ya? I don't think you know the meaning of a lot of the words you like to throw around. It's ok. Hopefully finishing school will help 'ya out in that department.

this packs the wallop of a cup of warm milk & honey served up by my dear old maiden aunt.

Here's hoping you improve- keep being this wrong and you'll get plenty of practice at it.

Since it will take some time to review this situation, further discussion at this point is probably non constructive. Especially considering the content of some posts in this thread.
