Ok so we know almost every epic is getting a 5th power......

So my question is, what move could we add to each Ancillary and Patron pool for each powerset that would help fix any problems that type has, without making it too over powered. Sometimes ONE power is all it takes to take a set of "eh its not bad" to really good. For example adding Hibernate to the Dominator Mako Patrons. It took my Dom to a whole new level.

Ive been really bummed since that last round of these that Fire Mastery for blasters didnt get a 5th move, but I honestly dont know what id give them to help fill in the gaps.


What powers do you think should be added as the 5th? Or which DO YOU THINK they will end up with.

The article did not mention whether SoA is getting the new powers or not. They should.

I don't know which set doesn't have 5 powers. I think most of them are in coh? I don't play heroes!


What's left is to normalize all Assassin Strikes and improve Stalker's old sets (Claw, MA and EM)! You don't need to bring back the missing PbAoE attack. You just need to make the existing ones better! For example, make Slice a WIDER and LONGER cone.

Yeah the SOA could use em, theyre choices arent very good at the moment, I dont even take them on my Widow aside from Spirit Shark.


Most blasters didnt get a 5th, I think some tanks, Scrappers, and also its hit or miss with the other ATs as well.

Its gonna be neat to see what they decide to give everyone.

To be honest, I think Blasters should get access to positional defense based armour. The glass cannon is already for a large part outgunned by Spines Scrappers, VEATs, even Shield/SS Tankers is up there, and could do with a bit of defensive compensation.

What I realistically think they will get? Smoke or Melt Armor.

I wonder if they will be first pick, 1 power required or even 2 powers required. Based on that they go from stupid, better, great.

Actualy i wanted to see weapon-matching powers. Nothing is worse then whielding a weapon and having redraw-issues because of your epic.

* Fire Mastery - Melt Armor (same as Tanker version)

Controller
* Fire Mastery - Rise of the Phoenix (hah, like they'd give anything to make controllers even more overpowered )
* Psionic Mastery - Psionic Lance (everything else would probably be overpowered)

Defender
* Dark Mastery - Shadow Meld (haha, it's a possibility!)
* Power Mastery - Boost Range

Scrapper
* Body Mastery - Pinpoint Weakness (clone of Blaster's Surveillance with appropriately changed graphics)
* Darkness Mastery - Dark Obliteration

Tank
* Energy Mastery - Pinpoint Weakness (as Scrapper version)

I am not in the Issue 16 closed beta, nor have I obtained my information from any source that is. Anything that I say in this post is..... conjecture. Purely conjecture, and there is nothing questionable about it.

Let's see now...
* Blaster/Force Mastery should get Repulsion Bomb. I mean, Blasters aren't quite repulsive enough as it is...
* Controller/Psionic Mastery needs World of Confusion. The power isn't over-used enough yet.
* Defender/Dark Mastery already has a good mix of Dark Melee and Dark Armor, but where's Soul Transfer?
* Defender/Power Mastery would be a bit more interesting with Force of Nature, don't you think?
* Scrapper/Darkness Mastery would be complete if only it had Night Fall.

* All VEAT epic sets need to have the fifth powers given to Brutes added. Then they'd be identical again like the old days.
* Scrapper/Blaze Mastery? I dunno, what would go good in that one? I'm purely conjecturing, in alphabetical order: Char, Fire Ball, Fire Blast, Ring of Fire and... heck, let's throw in Melt Armor for that one as well.

I mean, anything OTHER than Rise of the Phoenix would be too powerful for a controller.

Face it, in order to use Rise of the Phoenix, you have to actually be defeated, which goes against farmer behaviour. :3

I would support this if it was a bunch of Spiderlings, especially since they appear in swarms as enemies.

I think for Tanker Energy Mastery that Power Build Up would be amazing, but they will get something really lame like Repulsion Field.

I think for Blaster Flame Mastery that Heat Exaustion would be interesting to see, but they will likely get Bonfire.

The following comment is not directed towards any one person or meant to sound like a jerk but....................

Blaster subjects STILL get sooo many replies from people who dont even know what moves are in the freaking sets.

Im sick and tired of hearing stuff like "Blasters are overpowerd!" "Blasters ruin PVP" "Blasters are already too powerful!".

All of those comments are made by people who dont know enough about them. My main since beta has been my Fire/Fire blaster Psynder. He has gone through alot of ups and downs and since about 1 month into my COX life I KNEW that my secondary was 75% Trash. The devs knew it too, there was LONG talk about the mythical "Blaster Secondary Rebuild".

For whatver reason they decided not to do it, which is a shame since most blaster secondaries have powers that LITTERALY will be nothing but a way to get you killed if you are inexperienced enough to take them.

Most of our Nukes are situational JOKES. The most degrading thing about leveling a blaster is knowing that there is a point in your career where you stop being awesome and starting being shunned lol and its from 33 - 41 usually. Even after anciallary pools blasting is not always easy.

Our secondaries leave ALOT to be desired compared to EVERY other AT in the whole game.

People need to learn more about blasters:

The ins and outs.

Solo play.

Team play.

Raids (rikti ships, hami, etc)

PVP.

All of these things need to be experienced both team and solo before anyone should be forming an experience on whether blasters still need some work or not.

Some of these people are the ones still moaning and complaining about how regen should be buffed back to the way i originally was.

Smoke, would be double up for /dev. Consume would be double up for elec/fire, melt armor would be more in sync with munition, imho more likely (basicly everything would be available twice then).

@above, lemme guess? You're one of those who say all secondairy should be like 'imba' energy? Or 'ubah' MM?

Since the official interview said "most" and not "all," my bet is on VEATs not getting a 5th power this time around. They seem like they'd require more effort and thought than the others, since you have to pick a power that would work for two different classes. Any defensive power given to Banes would make Crabs too good, for instance. My guess for widows is that they'll just give them holds since those choices are pretty generic and wouldn't be overpowering. But that word "most" makes me think VEATs are going to get the pass this time.

I'm hoping the heroes still lacking stuff get some good choices though. I'm wondering what Force Mastery will get for Blasters. I always thought the Gravity hold would work there.

NOT ONLY am I "one of those guys" im probably the most vocal about it on the boards, I have been screaming it since beta about bringing them all up to as good as NRG, and im even more vocal about it now that MM is around. I will continue to do it till somthing gets done as well.

I love blasters way too much to sit idly by while 80% of the secondary powers dont get used because of how crappy they seem in comparison to the freaking awesome newer powers.

Also yeah id would surely be ok with Healing Flames being the power, Smoke would be dope as well. I actually dont see any issues with giving them a AOE Sleep either, quite a few blasters have access to one anyway and Fire would be pretty awesome with it. Sadly I think that would give a few sets 2 AOE sleep and that would be bad.

Hmm, well... You know how semantics works. Even in the event that "all" the remaining epics got a fifth power, would not "most" still be true?

It's a response like this that makes me glad my earlier post got overlooked. (-:
