I'm back, and I'm probably leaving again

An "I'm back" and an "I'm leaving" thread all in one. Thought I'd come back and have a look after a 3 month break. Nothing but AE farmers, so I'm off again

Does anyone do "proper" missions any more? Is anyone just here to play the game instead of brag about how awesome their toon is? Does anyone play any other set combination other than Fire / Kins?

I'm probably desperately trying to relive the heydays of I7 and I8, and will probably be flamed to high hell for a number of different reasons, but there you go!

(Oh and I do like the "Welcome" from the Americans. We didn't join you. You joined us :P)

I don't do AE, I favour the old way of levelling. The way to get to know your character, you know. ;P (Preparing to get flamed)
Only time I go into the AE is placing characters there for dayjobs or Roleplaying an arc with my sg. Have put a few arcs on hold until the Devs decide what shall stay and what shall not (due to PL certain mobs are removed etc). Hope they add a few more things to the MA so that a few other arcs I got in my head can be realized.
And to your answer, have yet to make or play a Fire/Kin.
I look forward to I-16 and the additions to the character creator, but unsure if any of my existing chars will change some of their power colors. (But never say never).. Then there are new alts to be made with the new profilation. (And sometime this year hopefully... GR)

There are actually quite some players who are not too fond of AE farming at all. The difficulty is finding them, though, between all the agricultural devotees.

Well me Im probaly trying to live the hey days post I6 and I7 when I finally left.

I have meyself come back after a long abscence to play with new friends on US servers while another game comes out and I have already cancelled my sub. So yes I am goin middle of this month too.

I have not touched the AE stuff Im not even sure what it is but all I keep hearing is that people rinse it to death to lvl as well as sewer missions. This is all new to me.

For myself back when I joined just post I4 it was all about exploration and content. And so I got pretty kiffed hwne I saw what I felt was little content released in many of those issues during my time. So naturally the first thing on my agenda after coming back is leveling the old way and taking exception to the new content missions. Seeing as how that was my priotity years ago you can see why I am focusing on adventuring. I have even done missions and tfs with xp turned off so I can make sure I dont miss out.

I was quite a fast leveller back then but even so I restarted 3 mids 20 characters inclusing my main because I didnt want to miss story or content. I also notice we get merit for doing content so if you go slow you get badges, merit and a good time to settle in and know your character and build. But this is my prefered way and I dont feel it is right or wrong.

Theres still groups of people around who refuse to do jump on the AE farming bandwagon, theyr just full most of the times.

If the Euro servers are full of AE farmers and nothing else, come over to the US servers. Loads of teaming, PuGs, TFs, badge-hunting, RP, AE story-arc teams there. I'm on Freedom, GMT+1 timezone, and I've never had a problem finding anything I want, bar the odd bare patch for some TFs.

Otherwise, the old chestnuts come rolling out: Join an SG, use your global channels, start your own non-AE teams.

I level characters the old way and run AE story arc teams with my higher levels. I find creating them fun, and some of the stories are worth playing, you just need to find the right team.
I'm usually on Union running AE Story Arc teams with my Scrapper or leveling one character or another, feel free to give a PM to @Sproing Thingy.

No fire / kin here... And if you see me in MA it would be on a challenging arc with a story line and AV's.

Currently roleplaying, basebuilding and normal missions....

I just recently started to play on Union, and the first few PUG's I joined were insanely fun. No AE, no farming. Just plain good old story arcs, with good experienced players.

(No fire/kins. The only troller with us was a mezzer.)

So I guess it's just a matter of luck. SteelRat, maybe you could try to find a non-AE/farm Supergroup to join?
And remember to add as friends those players you have fun with. It may take some time, but you'll build a small family of like-minded players, and have a lot easier time finding good teams.

Finaly EU came to the moment, when devs just have to see they failed. US got everything, TF's, normal missions, sewer, trials, u name it.. they got it.

I AE farm, and i'm proud of it. Why? To get the goodies, u need the dope. AE provide me SO's for lvling (FREE!!), recipes to sell or use, self chosen mobs, all in 1 nice building. And if my teammate in Steel? No worry, he just enter the same green thingie in Steel, he joins my mission. I use the AH to transfer the inf to US side, where i slot out my new characters to the max.

Defiant, /sea gave 67 villains, i noticed at least 20 'RMTs', 47 villains at 10pm? A joke.
