Electric Armor
So I16 hit close beta today and you can look at the log in screen. Look at the Tankers Electric Armor and Looks like they replaced CP with a new power called Energize. This is across all versions... Tanker, Scrapper, Brute, and even Stalker... numbers below are for the Tanker version
Instead of a ~120% end discount like the brute version, it has a 60% end discount, but a 100% regeneration increase and a hefty heal (468 HP @ level 50 unenhanced) The end discount and regeneration buff last 30 seconds, and the power recharges in 2 minutes. Doesnt look like there's a crash or anything. No word if the recharge time is unenhanceable like SoW. |

I could see myself actually considering Elec Armor with a power like that.
Thats sounds pretty awesome...only thing is now with high psy resistence, a endmod power, a self heal, and overall good resitence, and with the changes to invuln, regen, the layered protection of wp, the damage capability of shields, and the changes that make SR extremely solid I can't help but to think that Dark Armor needs a little love.
This power looks like it is really going to help elec a lot. No more medicine
Well, I'm sold on making another Elec alt now. I have my 50 EM/ELA brute, and love him, but was having mixed feelings on an Electric Armor scrapper. Now with this change, assuming it goes live, I'm getting excited about playing the set again.
Now what to make?
I've played Katana and Dual Blades and would prefer to avoid those. Spines could be tempting, although I have a Spines stalker. I've never played Martial Arts... Hmm...
Looks like my Dark/elec will be worth sticking around for. Note, this is a brute that's already SO level and feeling kind of bland.
I'm going to have to consider a claws/elec brute now.

Wow. That's really a great change. I love my electric armor brute, but he's one of my few melee toons who can routinely faceplant moments after starting a fight, due to no def whatsoever to help safely use aid self. Now maybe I can ditch aid self, which I truly loathe.

I'm going to give my axe/elec/mu brute concept a 2nd try. As far as new scrappers, I think ill give spines/elec a try. That's gonna murder the synapse 2x2x2 runs. What about elm? What's the order of powers for the scrappers and tanks? I'm not at home so I can't take a look.

It looks like a Conserve Power with reduced recharge and end discount, but with other effects added on top of it (heal, +regen). That doesn't really seem like a violation of the "cottage rule." (Build up builds up a small cottage instead of giving a short duration damage boost)
Also, there's another rule of "no identical powers in EPP/PPP" as Tankers and Scrappers would get two CPs each if the Elec Armor set went through unchanged.
I'm definitely gonna have to try a */elec scrapper now, just not sure whether to go Katana or Spines...
I just might have to get my SS/Elec Brute out of retirement and ditch Aid Self!

There have also been two accounts that I can remember where the cottage rule was broken, MoG and Gravity Controllers team teleport.

With a 30/120 power as described it certainly sounds pretty decent especially considering recharge builds will have it all but Perma.
The mechanics definitely sound interesting, as it stands it probably couldn't operate like a drain psyche clone, even if it was front loaded to a static 25% heal static 60% end reduction with 100% for the first foe in range and X amount for additional foes hit. But hey, I can dream!
If it is a simple click and activate, I think it would be cool to see something closer to 25% heal 25% end reduction 250% regen given the already end friendly power sink charging every 30 seconds with standard recharge slotting.
But even with the addition as it, its at least enough to get me to consider rolling up an Elec tank for sure, possibly an elec scrapper
This power certainly makes Elec more appealing. Might roll the BS/Elec I've been thinking of now!
Bad thing is, though, that Elec now has too many good powers
