yup servers are down...got a message in game they coming down for maint
Emergency maintenance. Basically anytime someone summoned a rikti monkey(Vet Reward) anybody within eyesight of the summon would crash. It may have also caused most of the zone to mapserve as well, though I'm not sure about that.
Emergency maintenance starting 5 PM Pacific time, lasting maybe two hours, due to severe stability problems with the latest patch.
They had to do an unscheduled shutdown due to the lasat patch. it was causing big problems so they're taking it out and rolling things back to the last issue. They've given the usual two hours but might be less.

Further to the live build that went live this morning, a problem was discovered that caused serious server stability issues. As a consequence, we will be rolling all North American & European servers back to the previous build which we know to be stable. The maintenance will start at 4:55PM Pacific Time (7:55PM Eastern Time / 12:55AM British Time / 1:55 Central European Time) and we expect it to last about 2 hours. The servers may however become available again before that. We apologize for the inconvenience and will let you know when we are able to go live with an updated version of that build. |

Well, bummer. Was in the mood for some Bots/TA action tonight.
which also means they will fix the broken patch and have the servers down again to repatch
we we weregoing to run an rsf tonight but I am not sure after a couple hours everyone on the team will make it back

I'm sure a lot of us are hitting the forums now to see what's going on and kill some time while we wait for the fix.
I had just logged in long enough to Cap Au Diable to have someone drop a monkey (that just sounds twisted). All I managed to do was respond to 1 tell before I crashed, while my other account sat there in relative safety. 30 seconds later, the servers are brought down.
I have great timing.
This is irritating. The patch was correcting some very minor things, but they opted to go forward with it. It caused a serious server stability issue, so they bring the game back down. They tell everyone to go to the forums to read about it, and then the forums cannot handle the volume. The server status screen is displaying that every server is up when they are not.
I am sorry to sound cranky, but both times I have tried to log in today have been a bust. Even more, it seems poorly executed every step of the way.

Well, technically, I think they could shut them off at any time, with now warning at all - but 15 minutes gives the majority of players enough time to finish up whatever they were doing, without giving any griefers that much time to play with their pets.
