15 Months Vet Rewards!

I had Unique expierience, yesterday.

I was on a Battle Maiden Farm... (quite normal actually)
Broadcast Me: Battle maiden farm room for 3 45+
(in PI yanno because it's a real mission with real drops)
Get a tell a few minutes later,
Person: Can I join? I am 42!
I said, Sure... I think we have a mentor for you.
Person: Huh?
I said, Sure... I think we have a mentor for you.
Person: Ok, brt.

They come to the mission...
I said, Please don't touch any of the glowies!
Person, Ok! But why not.
I said, Because I asked you not to, so please do not do it.
Person, Ok!

We do 2 runs...

We start the 3rd run.

Person: Who wrote this mission?
I said, War Witch? Is she the mission Dev?

I looked at their Vet Rewards... 15 months!

I said, This isn't Mission Architect, this is part of the REAL game.
Person: I have never done player created content.

I said, Been playing Villains?
Person: Yes I tried one of those too.

I said, Did you just buy your account on Ebay or did a friend loan it to you?

I don't honestly know why I was getting so frustrated. But I find that people like this really bug me. Really!!!

Person: Why do you say that?
I said, You have 15 months of Vet Rewards on that account. Meaning someone has PAID for that account for quite some time. The character you are on has several BADGES, that show me just how much of the actual game that specific character has played. So, I am not really understanding your questions.

Person: Oh. This character has badges? What are those?

Oh look the mission is over >.>

Don't worry I wish we could check if people had enhancements. I recruited people for an ITF who later I found out they did NOT slot ANY enhancements... they were 50.

Well, i think i can top that

A 33+ month player (super reflex scrapper), was complainging nonstop about how they couldn't do anything cause they were constantly held.
I said, aren't you using Practised Brawler?
They replied with, No specced it out cause it didn't do anything.
Now picture me beating my head on the desk.
(whats worse is i know the person have been playing for at least two years).

Also seen some scary clueless level 50's since AE came.
Level 50 joins team and goes "where is mission?"
Now anyone playing a real mission would know the location is stated in the nav bar.
but we reply with "Peregrine Island".
and they say "where is that?"
and we go "you never been outside atlas park, have you?"
and they'd go "there's more areas????"

I'm confused- is PP upset at players buying accounts? Because that's been happening nearly as long as I've been playing.

You can't blame MA for problems that predate its introduction by several years.

I was in a group that attempted the ITF earlier (we gave up after 2 guys D/Ced and dindn't come back). One of the tanks reaked of farming, he kept asking for blue insps and burned through them fast (he was a willpower tank btw) and he had no taunt.

When pressed about the taunt, he said "I got it on my other build, but i don't have the cash atm".

I'm thinking, what the heck does cash got to do with it? and told him that EVERY build should have a taunt, it being the cornerstone of a tank.

anyway, since the other 2 guys haddn't returned by this point, and the rest of the group was wanting to get far away from the nub tank, we dropped the task force and ran for the hills.

This thread is not about the morality of farming. Long-term players may have a reason to farm to get past levels that they have done many times before. I will ridicule you for it, but that's simple difference of opinion.

This thread is about people farming their way past the game; people assuming that the Atlas Architect is the entirety of City of Heroes, or people buying and swapping accounts. In general, about people being granted power with no knowledge of how to use it. We are all agreed here, this is wrong.

I find it incredibly depressing that people not only do this crap, but are perfectly willing to pay for it. Imagine that. Imagine all game zones but Atlas being deleted. No more Talos Island, no more Faultline, no more Rikti War Zone; no more PvP, no more co-op, no more story arcs, task forces or trials. No more challenging content. Imagine your only possible action being to farm. Would you pay for that game?
