I thought it was very nice having the French and German players on Defiant - they were having a lot of fun, and ot a good welcome.

Let me get this straight, you need to take down Union and Defiant, to enable the French and German servers??

There have been some disconnection problems on Defiant and Union too - they probably want to check out all four and make sure they're working smoothly before they put out the next booster pack.

No Fix for the Villain Pentad Badge? No...No?

For anyone who doesn't follow the US dev digest, there's a fairly interesting post from GhostFalcon noting that post-Issue, stability and access patches come before gameplay issues, so this kind of thing will get priority.

Of course, that isn't stopping me from checking the PlayNC shop for the new Super Booster several times a day, but good to know.

Excellent. I appreciate to see that so much profound thinking and testing has been done before releasing I15 , that they can provide us with a 3 hour time frame of letting us know that the servers will go down to patch issues with I15 already a day after the release. And the population shrinks and shrinks and shrinks...

Well to be honest i cant really think of a better time frame to do this for us EU players, this is actually affecting the US side of things a LOT more than it would us.

I agree with Damz, at least its at a time that suits the majority on the EU servers rather than us having to be put out be times that suit the ppl in the US. Thnx for that NCsoft

Was talking about the fact that the post was put up just 3 hours before the servers were taken down Damz. Ofcourse the actual time that the servers are offline ain't so bad for EU side indeed.

4 hours 19 minutes But yeah i do agree that a larger time frame for passing server downtime information would always be welcome, just since this doesnt affect me i cant really complain too much without my heart in it. Im sorry! I'll try harder next time i promise!

The clue's in the title, really. It's an emergency fix so the French and German players can get access to their characters.

Just imagine how thankful the Union and Defiant players would be for such a fix, and how vocal they'd be about the glitch in the first place. My heart goes out to them it really does.

There was some internal discussion whether we should have deployed the 19.20090619.5T2 build to the EU servers at the same time as it was deployed to the North American servers....but we recognized that since EU was entering prime-time hours, that disruption to all EU customers with 30 minutes of warning was unacceptable.

The compromise was to push back the publish of 19.20090619.5T2 to 12 midnight (past EU peak time), and within operational development hours of Paragon Studios so that in the event of any other issues on Vigilance or Zukunft, we had time to address them before Thursday EU Prime-time.

See I think thats perfectly reasonable deployment strategy for a patch, would be worse if the maintenance was mid-TF to be fair!

As for adressing other issues, 2 entire populations have been denied access to their servers and characters, if Defiant and Union went down and the Devteam went off to fix the 5SF MM bug first, most people would scream blue bloody murder so I can see why the...

EMERGENGY patch!

has dealt with the more important issue of restoring service to our French and German relations!

I agree with Xemulas and for those less attentive, the old pattern being, the Devs hate the Villains.

Bravo to the support/development team for a) the warning and b) being able to squeeze it into a reasonable time slot for themselves and the EU players.

This took (as it should have) precedence over any other bug-fixes, tweaking or anything else. Fifty percent of the EU servers were unavailable. Over 13% of the total server list was down. This HAD to be fixed.
