The BIG nerf!!!
You have failed to notice two things.
Not all doms are perma.
Not all doms are /Psi and over level 38.
It's a major buff to anyone trying to level as a dominator (although still not enough to actually make dominators any good).
I really should do something about this signature.

But ALL doms DO(or did) get the damage bonus,i could live with the slight nerf on psw,but losing the damage bonus is unacceptable

The base damage has been increased, so your powers do domination-equivelent damage all the time. (assuming 95% damage slotting).
PSW was bugged, but they didn't fix it before because /Psi was otherwise underperforming. All other powers in /Psi have had a damage buff.
I really should do something about this signature.
I am still waiting for the final version before I do the maths and can come up with precise numbers, but there are some facts to consider about this "big nerf":
- The former domination damage bonus is added to doms' base damage. Because of that slotted attacks will do more damage anytime than was possible before with domination's damage boost.
- Recharge times and endurance cost of many powers are increased. While this decreases dps and dpe for single powers the problem will probably be hardly noticeable for high-level doms with some sort of endurance management and bucketloads of active powers to click.
- PSW (among others) is still bugged as it uses the ranged damage modifier instead of the melee one. Damage should be higher than it now is on Test.
So, the "big nerf" is actually a relative one: a perma-dom will not be that much stronger than an other dom anymore. A non-perma-dom will feel stronger than before, especially with the attack sets that received even bigger boosts like /energy.
EDIT: Just did a short test run with two dominators. Results:
Algesis (Level 50 Mind/Psi): Hmmm, well... AoE damage is a bit on the weak side, but that is mainly because of bugged PSW. Everything else is just fine. Feels good in and out of domination.
Sadaqat (Level 28 Earth/Fire): Holy *bleep*! What the *bleep* *bleeb* happened here? Nerf me more! Nerf me! Give me names! NERRRF MEEEH! YEAH! ... Phew! Now I need a smoke.
If it has eyes, you can blind it, if it has blood, you can make it bleed, if it has a mouth, you can make it scream.
Just tryed a few of my doms on test and have to say im likeing the changes maybe the end/damage/recharge could still do with a little tweeking but it seems pretty good as is.
Gravity/Energy (17) seems beter the extra damage is very nice did run out of end a few times which was a bit of a pain also the higher recharge made missing a bit of a pain should be fine once i get a little higher and have more attacks.
Plant/thorn (33) realy good did plenty of damage and managed to run a full mish without my end running out or having to pop domination. also as long as i mixed primery and secondery powers i allways had somthing to use.
Mind/Elec (4) seemed to work well with with the sleep and the hold in adition to charged brawl and charged bolts there was no real problem with having a attack up when i need it
Ice/Ice (4) again seemed ok but then of all the sets ice has recived teh fewest changes but the extra damage was great looking forward to this toon on live

With your level 50 dom, make a new one on test, use second build to remake your build but with SOs instead of IOs, and give it another test. :3 See if the new endurance is still much of a drain

Things you failed to notice:
1) Domi's had a base damage buff. BUFF. It is somewhat equivalent to being permadom. This means that permadoms didn't actually lose any damage and those domis who didn't have permadom now deal more damage. Seems good to me.
2) PSW was overpowered. An AoE attack with Single Target modifiers for Damage, Recharge and Endurance cost? If you cannot see what's overpowered there I don't know why anyone would bother arguing with you about it.
3) There are other secondaries besides Psi, which clearly was the best in AoE damage potential, thanks to one overpowered attack. This isn't a dominator nerf, it is something to level out the playing field for permadoms vs. un-IO'd doms and /Psi doms vs /other doms.
4) [ QUOTE ]
so all domi is good for is the kb prot, stun immob
[/ QUOTE ]
So, that's all? I'd kill to get something like that on my squishies. I mean, permadoms can be very close to tankmages. Thanks to good resistance modifiers, AoE mez and good damage.
That's all. For now.

I am afraid I do not understand. I said that possible endurance issues are hardly noticeable at level 50, so the new endurance is not much of a drain to begin with.
Actually, both my dominators never encountered any endurance issues at all (one using IOs and the other SOs), so much so that I even decided to push Consume a few levels back on my Earth/Fire as I will hardly need it anytime soon.
And that is while going at a fast pace killing more mobs in less time than at any point before (although the mind/psi needed to work harder for that result because of weakened PSW). It was as if both had suddenly pulled a miniature blaster (or two in the case of the Earth/Fire) out of their pocket to blow the largely helpless enemies to smithereens.
Also, I fail to notice how using SOs rather than IOs would help in any way.
If it has eyes, you can blind it, if it has blood, you can make it bleed, if it has a mouth, you can make it scream.

An increase of DPA in your powers would increase your DPS...

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't that sort of the point of a Domi?
Half right, half wrong.
If you can't use your power because it's not recharged, you're not increasing your dps.
But you can use another power to complete the chain, i conceed. So it's half right...
But, maybe this other power you'll be using will be not that good on the dps cycle... So it's just fixing an hole in the attack chain but with a substitution power.
What I don't understand is people complaining that a broken power is fixed and that the Devs levelled the playing field. Also, they want people to pick other powers bar Psi, which everyone chose because of the borked power (PSW)
Ok PSW was broken
but a triple nerf is a little bit hard... (see the blast version end cost 10, dom is 18 oO).
Now that they broke vilainside farmers, can we please fix fire/kin troller please ? There are a lot more...
And please fix the rage + Stompfoot , this is overpowered too.
etc
etc
Another thing is : why nerf all AoE in the dom's assault pool ?
So i'm not sticked on the PSW nerf, i'm angry because of the revamp which is not that good.
[ QUOTE ]

They haven't. In fact most of them have been buffed. You are looking at the damage scalar in isolation, not taking into acount the base damage increase that underlies that.
With regard to DPA, DPS and DPE, It's actually DPS that has been buffed (assuming a full attack chain). That is why Castle has been tinkering with recharage times. However, he has increased end costs to keep DPE about the same, which is why doms are now burning through end much faster.
I really should do something about this signature.

I'm looking at the power:
rech increased, end increased... ok damage is upped but not the frequency of use... which is ... sorry but yes: a nerf in the damage cycle or at least not a buff, have to admit it.
Anyway, i'm stopping complaining about this; it will change nothing and people seems to just look at big red damaging numbers.

I think the problem is more on your side of the conversation. People do not just look at the big damage numbers. To the contrary: People are judging the changes after looking at whole attack chains (single target and AoE) instead of looking at a single power. (Although even when looking at single powers the dps has gone up in many cases.)
If you absolutely insist on using the very same attack chain after the changes as before it is no surprise that you will stand around for some seconds doing nothing, thus lowering your dps. But with two main powersets bursting with active powers you would have to have a strange build if you were unable to adapt your attack chain accordingly. (And with greatly increased dpa there is no way of hurting your dps in that process.)
Just try it for yourself: Build two attack chains with a dominator powerset combination of your choice (one with current values, one with future ones) and compare the attack chain values. If you make even the slightest effort to build a somewhat efficient attack chain you will realise the following:
- dps has gone up by a considerable amount
- dpe is roughly in the same league, a bit higher for some sets, a bit lower for others
- eps has gone up, but only because you do more dps with more or less unchanged dpe
So, where was that nerf again?
If it has eyes, you can blind it, if it has blood, you can make it bleed, if it has a mouth, you can make it scream.

I'm looking at the power:
[/ QUOTE ]
And you conclude that all AoE damage powers have been nerfed by looking at one power!
You might ind it useful to look at the actual AT damage multipliers. Melee damage multiplier changed from 0.75 to 1.05 (and PSW counts as melee), ranged damage changed from 0.65 to 0.95. This is a cross teh board real increase in DPS. If PSW hadn't been changed it would now be doing about 30% more DPS than it had been previousy.[ QUOTE ]

No, people are looking at the actual changes, and seem to understand how the game works a lot better than you do.

Hmmm Combustion is not being upped, getting a nerf.
A little one ok.
Good luck with your stamina pre 20', then without IO and more if you were running hotfeet or Arctik air.( No more hotfeet=great dps loosing, no ?)
And if you were permadom (sorry i was, i did enjoy my Character so put all my effort on him), you got the nerf.
I really don't understand how the games works. Really;
thx for your enlightment.
PLease slott rest more ! You'll need it !
i cant find the info now but can someone post combustion endurance and damage on live and test?
Base at 50 please
Take a look at my post earlier in the thread i tried 3 pre stamina dominator's they all performed well and were no worse of endurance wise than they were on live however they were doing much better damage than they had on live
So i would say any changes that result in MORE DAMAGE for relatively the same endurance usage is a net buff to the dominator AT as a hole.
Fiery Assault actually comes out very well from these changes. The reason? Fiery Embrace. With increased base damage and no base damage boost from domination, +DMG powers make a much larger relative contribution to total damage output. +100% for 30 seconds. Fire/Fire doms should now be able to outdamage Fortunatas and rival blasters. I predict a new fotm.

Yeah withe the higher scale fire/fire should be pretty spiffy. I just hate the lack of tohitbuff in FE
Anyway anyone got the info i´m looking for?

Sure. Here are the base values for Combustion at level 50.
Live servers:
Damage: 70,9
Recharge: 15s
Endurance: 13
Test:
Damage: 75,91
Recharge: 17s
Endurance: 16
If you do the maths for this one attack it is a nerf unless we factor in larger outside bonusses. (Dominators in teams with a /kin are godly on Test. Damage cap is now so much nicer than before.) Fortunately there is more than one power in that set, so we still come out with a net buff.
If it has eyes, you can blind it, if it has blood, you can make it bleed, if it has a mouth, you can make it scream.
Hi all,
Well i have been on the test server today with my lvl 50 fire/psi domi, and i can confirm the big nerf has hit us.
I CAN still get perma domi, but the 75%damage bonus has gone(PATHETIC i must say)so all domi is good for is the kb prot, stun immob etc,i cant see any buffs given,ALSO on PSW BASE RECHARGE HAS INCREASED BY 10SECS,and the base damage has DE-creased from 70.85 to 63.92.another Huge nerf by the devs, thanks in advance for destroying dominators.
