MA: I weep metaphorical tears of despair

Quick solution. Remove the MA building from Atlas. That way the farmers will move to other, hopefully, less obnoxious places.

[/ QUOTE ]

No, just don't let anyone over level 10 access the Galaxy, Atlas and Mercy Isle glowie MA thingie (give a "You cannot enter" error). There are some great 1-10 arcs out there.

And remove auto-sk entirely. Ridiculous idea.

Remove higher level access to building...might work.
Divided on the auto-sk. For actual mid levels that would be a needless blow, but for low level farming carp, maybe...

-Goes back to his actual story driven arcs-

Move it to DA and Boomtown - they need visitors

On a related note, do anyone else use the AE in Brickstown for the more quiet work environment?

Let people SK the old fashioned way. So if you do want a 35 joining some 50 buddies doing a MA mish one of them can SK him.

I tried one of those 'farming' missions yesterday, more out of boredom than anything else.Funny thing is, it was actually more fun to play than some of the 'proper' arcs I've looked at. only thing it lacked was a coherent story.

Me to was a board last night and spotted a mission called funny XP or something like that and decided what the hell i would give it a go. Was set in one of the outdoor maps with rikti communications as enemies and lots of statesman's as hostages had great fun as just a quick 30 mins of destroying everything tab would lock onto. in fact stick in more variations of rikti (i did get some monkeys if i ignored the portals) and some kind of flimsy "the rikti have invaded zone X get in there and kick there A** and it would have been really fun

One thing i did notice was that all the rikti were 53 which seemed a bit strange until i read the full mission statement and it had lvl range 53.

This would seem a good thing to sort being able to have lvl 53 minions all by them selves seems a bit of surly all mobs should have some kind of lvl range so something like 35 - 50 not just strait forward 53.

Another problem is that a lot of folk have been in the game for ages now.

For example I have 32 alts, now admittedly they are all relatively low except my 50s and a few 30s, but if I had to grind my way to 50 noe, the same way I did my others which at the time was fun, I would probably think sod it and go, or stick to playing the 50s, which again, has a limited shelf life.

Zhaan, Chakyra, Fiorina 161, Aeryn, Polly Nation, Dee Pression, Shazanne, Night Jester and too many more to mention.

Mothership Rikti? They're awfully popular at the moment thanks to their level range

That's what i thought but weren't they removed from the architect? and id they were shouldn't that have made the mission invalid?

The Headsmen were because they were giving double XP. I'm not sure if the entire group were.

Ah that mite be it then.

though i would think it would be far simpler to just remove mothership raid rikti from the MA as normal rikti run from about 25 to 54 dont they?

Me! My high level heroes anchored there.

On low levels i use Galaxy or Kings which are also quite on Defiant.

Faultline is the worst of them all i guess. That fog thing also effects your Character Creation screen in MA. Maybe they can move it to another place. Like Hollows or Striga

I use the one in Founders Falls mainly. Very quiet there. Those snipers keep the riff-raff away.

I use the Port Oakes one because it's conveniently overshadowed by the two more popular zones, Cap au Diable and Mercy Island.

If you see me using the typing animation on one of the architect tables, I'm usually typing a review on the forums.

What MA does for me is a great new way to get from those irritating below level 20 levels. Story wise(when I play solo...but then everyone wants to put in at least one EB...sigh...Sir Drake not a happy blaster... ) or just having fun with a few others in a team...at the moment I don't really care in what kind of mission that is.

Shameless plug: "Goldbricked!" 2.0 has no EBs, AVs, etc, just 3 bosses, one custom ss/regen. http://www.cityofguides.com/ma/view-mission.php?id=71

That said, yes, people (meself included) tend to forget that just placing Outcasts or Helions do not lowbie arc make. They use extrem EBs, open maps, huge objective lists, etc, as a matter of course

well yes but as the rikti mother ship raid mobs spawn only at 53 or 54 removing them would remove that ability as it is on the map i mentioned i could enter that mission with anything from a lvl 1 to a lvl 50 set on any difficulty and teh mobs were always 53 so while yes my lvl 1 scrapper stood no chance my lvl 30 mastermind could quite happily kill them all for uber XP

remove the lvl 51+ mobs from the architect and you force people to use the normal mission mobs which have a range so for example my MM would face lvl 30 rikti reducing the amount of XP i got dramatically while this wouldn't cure farming it would at least make it more difficulty (marginally granted)

Not that i see peoples problems with farming any ways each to there own in my opinion

[/ QUOTE ]No, it wouldn't. You'd also need to remove the RV heavies and possibly some other mobs.

So remove them i only used the rikti as a example because i new they had a special spawn that would only spawn upwards of 51.

Fact is, a lot, probably the majority, of players (and indeed the players of all MMOS) just want to get as powerful as possible as quickly as possible. They never read the story, it is irrelevent to them.

[/ QUOTE ]

I have tried to tell people since I4 that the problem that this game has is the gamesystem. Since there is very little in it to augment the story, all that is left is the grinding wow-style hack and slash to get xp and "stories" taped on top with few windows of text. That quite frankly does not satisfy me, and it should not require great deal of imagination to see that masses of people just ignore the 'stories' no matter how well they are written.

What the devs should need to do in CO or whatever, is to create a game system with enough options and actions in it and game world interesting enough so that every moment is immersive enough, feels like youre 'in the story'.

They should stop trying to make a game that is merely extension of the old pen-and-paper RPGs where you have to imagine everything.
