AV Soloing
I soloed Dreck and Chimera with my Katana/Inv just before inventions came in. This was with usage of insps though.
After inventions came I kitted out all my scrappers to be able to take out multiple enemies fast rather than take 1 tough target down without dying.
This was until my I kitted out my FM/SR to be able to solo AVs because it was probably the easiest set combination to IO out in this way.

My Spine/Inv can sit infront of a fair few AVs for a while but cant hurt anything really. Its build's made for wiping 8 man spawns though. Others I have that could fight AVs I probably wouldn't invest in. I still use my other scrappers but my DM/SR was my first level 50 alt and thus worth the time and investment IO wise, have too many 50s to kit out to do them all. The spine/inv build was actually far more expensive but spines isn't AV soloer.
I guess what I'm saying is I kitted out my DM for AV soloing, my Inv could do many AVs as well as my SR but the primaries dictate which is the one getting the job done
"Well, they found my diary today.
They were appropriately appalled
at the discovery of the eight victims
They're now putting it all together.
Women wrapped in silk
with one leg missing
Eight legs, one body, silk,
spider, brilliant!"
I remember somewhere in a guide I think, Jack Emmert practically saying about Scrappers being the best thing for taking on AVs, I must of been one of the few who agreed. Given what consummates the soloing of an AV I wouldn't put anything passed any type of scrapper with someone good behind it dead set on a intention. It's actually a very good way to measure one but some should be more suitable for certain sides of the game than others ie more efficient at taking out a 8 man spawn on invincible due to being in part an AoE machine, stuff like that.

I can sit in front of most AVs on my DM/DA but have to spend a lot of time healing which takes a lot of DPS out of the chain.
My DM/SR was fine for bobcat & shdaow hunter even though not fully build yet.
Going from the us boards my DM/SD should be even better.
If you wanna do such a thing with your DM/DA then your gonna have to turn it into something more def based. More def would mean less need to self heal, less need of rechg bonuses for self heal and so many other things saving endurance and keeping dps up cos you just don't get hit.
If you look over to the US forums apparently a DM/Shield tanks been doing it, and if you look at his build I think DSorrow would agree that some slots may as well have been thrown away.

DM/Shield Scrappers can hit the Defence soft cap and output over 300DPS against a single target.
It takes a little over 100DPS to beat the regeneration rate of an AV, and over 350DPS for a GM.
i would say that only khelds, huntsmen and blood widows are unable to solo level 50 avs. Feel free to prove me wrong .
Also defenders and trollers are better equipped to solo avs than scrappers.

The RWZ Ebil Nemmie Duplicates?
Impressive if so, we had 3 people tag-tanking Posi (my WS, a SKed Fire Tank and a PB) alterantly to avoid face planting (stupid End woes).
i plan to use the mission with castle synapse and sunstorm for venting.

That seems wrong to me, else anyone could easily duo any GM with a granite plus blaster.
Actually, I don't think it can be true. Testing the time taken to solo Jack with my ill/rad a while back, I duo-ed him first with a leccy blaster in tow. It still took a while even with full debuffs ( LR thus nerfing his regen ). Took far longer without :P
You taking into account heals there ?
On your basis you could duo any GM ( other than lusca ) with your DM/shield plus any random support toon?
As always, happy to be proven wrong, as long as it's proven

Take a poweranalyzer and check the regen, gm's have some base resistance.
you need about 360 dps output to dent a gm.
((targethp/resistance)/secondstodefeat)+regen iirc
and dm/shields dps output comes from fully saturated aao and soul drain.
Scrapper DPA Comparison:
These are a few high-DPS Single-Target builds that I've bothered to optimise and compare.
Optimised chains taken over roughly a 10 second period (to allow for "Build Up" powers)
[u]Katana/Regen[u] (with Build Up) - 2960 damage (3552 including -20% Resistance Proc)
[u]Katana/Regen[u] (without Build Up) - 2073 damage (2488 including -20% Resistance Proc)
[u]Claws/SR[u] (with Double-Stacked Follow Up) - 2608 damage
[u]DM/Shield[u] (with one mob in range of both Soul Drain and Against All Odds) - 2806 damage
[u]DM/Shield[u] (7 mobs in range of Soul Drain and 1 in range of Against All Odds) - 3368 damage
[u]Fire/Fire[u] (with Firey Embrace and Build Up) - 4461 damage
[u]Fire/Fire[u] (without Firey Embrace or Build Up) - 2251 damage
The highest spike damage output is obviously Fire/Fire, with the Katana/Regen a rather distant second. The highest sustained output is by far the DM/Shield (Soul Drain can be made very close to perma - when activated every 30 seconds it all depends on how many mobs there are nearby to leech from).
Mob resistances play a part too, so the Fire and DM builds will tend to do better than the rest in actual gameplay (though the Katana build's Proc is effectively perma versus one target and comes in very handy).
For reference, I've duoed Jack and Eochai on the Katana/Regen with my second account's Sonic/Elec Defender. No temp powers or -regen, just "Assault" plus the Sonic's two -resistance debuffs. They both fell in less than ten minutes. The same Scrapper can comfortably solo a RWZ Pylon in less than ten minutes.
I can post the full attack chains and stat numbers if you want. Essentially after building each character to my liking with Set IOs, I ranked the attacks in terms of DPA and then squeezed as many as I could into the ten second, "Build Up" window (allowing for each attack's recharge and animation times).

Blasters don't do particularly high DPA (Damage Per Activation time) on Single Targets. The only real exceptions to this are 'Blaze', 'Bitter Ice Blast', 'Energy Punch' and 'Charged Brawl'. It might be doable if the Blaster was /Mental and abused Drain Psyche.
Scrapper plus Granite might also be doable if the Granite was contributing. I have a Stone/Stone Build that does around 120 DPS whilst in Granite. That'd leave only 240 DPS for the Scrapper to make up - which could be achieved quite comfortably with any of the builds I listed above (assuming the AV doesn't resist the damage type, and that the Fire/Fire and Katana/Regen make use of 'Build Up' and 'Firey Embrace' occasionally).
Thanks for the posts there Maelwys, some good information.
To clarify one point from my understanding, the 330dps from DM/Shield requires 7 additional mobs in range of SD, which obviously isn't going to happen for most of a battle with GM's in my experience.
However, wasn't aware that theoretical DPS of scrappers could get that high, so nice to know
Impressed with a 10 minute drop of Jack and pumpkinhead with that duo. Good work
Fahie
No worries!
The reason why I included the 7x SD buff is because it's quite possible to be able to jump out of battle into the middle of a mob to buff up and then back to the AV/GM again... or just keep a few weaker mobs around you whilst fighting (INV tanks tend to do this - keeping a few weaker mobs in range of Invincibility).
Killing off the weaker mobs accidentally shouldn't be a problem - aside from Soul Drain you'll only be using single target attacks anyway (Shadow Maul is a narrow cone but is not one of the attacks used in the cycle!)
If you're fighting a AV then it caps out at 6 extra mobs - it's kind of tricky to get them all within range, but it is doable. Anything above one mob is going to give you a little bit of a buff. If you go for the "keep the extra mobs within melee range whilst fighting" route then they'll also add to Against All Odds (which in theory caps out at ten foes, but you'll never get that many in range!! )
Having said all that, my Favourite Toon for fighting tough targets (in a scrapper-buffer duo) is actually an Earth/Kin. Stoney with the two +10% Resistance Aura Procs plus "Increase Density" can tank virtually anything, and the two Siphons plus Fulcrum decreases the target's damage output further. The -regen from Transfusion plus Speed Boost, Siphon Power and Fulcrum make your duo buddy's damage output stupidly strong...
I don't know if many people would of missed this from Castle but please especially read the part I bolded:

One of the folks who works here came over to my desk to complain about how difficult Ghost Widow is to fight. He was convinced that a scrapper was incapable of soloing her. I told him nonsense and he asked me to prove it.
So I did, using a Katana/Willpower scrapper I have internally.
He then said, well, I'm certain you could not do it with an Invulnerability scrapper. So, I loaded up my BS/Invul scrapper and did it.
He then said, well, you're using IO'd out super-min-maxed characters to do this, there's no way you could do it with a normal build. So, I copied his character from Live and did the fight with his character while he watched. Again, I won. This time, I didn't even need inspirations, in fact.
Now, all of this is completely unfair to him. Why? Well, I have tested against Ghost Widow for years now, and I know exactly how to manipulate the AI so she plays into my strengths rather than into hers. I also got lucky in those three tests -- normally, she beats me about half the time.
In any case, Ghost Widow is a challenge; one of the best in the game. I love fighting against her because any mistake and she's back to full life.

I bolded that part cos I do feel that "some" people are "sometimes" inclined to "need" certain powersets with perhaps IOs etc etc because without them they give the enemy everything and take from them nothing anyway. Timing and thinking in terms of table top template game playing (geometry) helps a bunch. When I think of things like a Firetank tanking the entire inner circle for just a TA I don't really see how impossible it can look to so many.

Does the -regen from transfusion stack? Asking because i don't know and i'm on my cell so loading cod is slow.
Yup. Lasts for 20 seconds, and has a base recharge of 8 seconds with a 1.17 second cast time. The regen debuff is only 50% and is pretty heavily resisted by Archvillains (85% ish at level 50) but not by GMs.
Hmm if an ice/kin corr somehow could outdamage a gm's regen until it hit scourge level, i would love to see it. Fully saturated fulcrum and one siphon power should reach the pet damage cap, you could scourge it to death(carrying blues ofc).
Hmm *scurries away to plot ebil things involving ice/*
yes i'm a scourgeaholic, don't judge me.
Don't GM's regen something like 350HP/s.
I know ice is not too bad off for single target dmg....
Any ways, doesn't a 50% regen debuff reduce their regen by 25% so you'll still be needing 270+dps. I'd say 300 to make sure it doesn't take all week.
See above - you can stack the debuff 4 times with just SOs depending on your Transfusion slotting. And more with Hasten and IO Set Bonuses.

This is the important thing about Transfusion - it stacks.
Wasn't always that way (or it wasn't providing as high -Regen and/or was insanely short duration) but now it's incredibly effective at crippling the Regeneration of most AV's and GM's.
Didnt want to post in a new thread about this but how well could a fire/dark do against an AV solo?
Last night i tried marauder, damage wise i was destroying his hp (think he lost 1/4 of his health in a minute), but being mostly resis based i was being 2 shot :| Would the only way a fire/dark scrapper have any chance be buy using purples? (end i dont need, thats sorted by a long shot)
@Damz Find me on the global channel Union Chat. One of the best "chat channels" ingame!
I have soloed a bunch of AV's on my Claws/Regen Scrapper and I was wondering if any other scrappers have been able to solo AV's besides /SR Scrappers.
The only thing I see now soloing AV's with a Scrapper is /SR so it is nice to see other Scrapper builds soloing AV's every once in a while.
So any other Scrappers achieved this feat?
AV's I have soloed:
Chimera
Requiem
Manticore
BobCat
Positron
Captain Mako
