depends I guess. if you want to use temps or insp, you should be able to solo av's with a dirt cheap build. Get the +3% def steadfast with merrits, if you can get one the +3%def from the pvp set.
Then shop about for some cheap bonus's. Or spend merrits again on kinetic combats or similar and you should be good to go.

Dunno, you´ll have problems against smashing damage.
You should be able to defeat avs without aid self though if not you use greens.

In terms of survivability I doubt he needs tough half the time unless there is a 3% res/def IO involved. SRs don't need fight pool or much power pool help to soft cap to all, they can IO slot to it. Using Aid self would cut into potential DPS so good thing not to use on an AV. The way I see it also: The only reason fight pool is in his build is so to soft cap def and be able to afford to damage proc attacks. I might do one, but atm I am going for an all rounder with my claws/sr.

Lying on the ground also cuts into valuable dps.
Resistance on top of softcap defense is pretty awesome.

I don't think the Conchars builds above are all that hot. I think perhaps you could of looked at them and done something to improve them especially in terms of DPS. I will say though I have always agreed on Willpower pulling leaderships off.

with INV you go for soft capping dmg types rather than mele, rng & aoe.

spines is a bit iffy when it comes to getting s/l defence.
I got Fire/Fire, when it comes to soloing AVs I have yet to bother looking at why not. I can't think why not atm. With the right slotting you can pretty much make most scrappers feel the same.

Oh and its just a very general build that can solo AVs, I use it for Teaming and TFs mostly. I'd drop TT for AV soloing and put hasten in and use a free slot for a +end proc in Stamina

I dont mean to thread jack but this seemed like the perfect place to post
i have built a DB/WP made for soloing AV's among other things
once the build was complete i tried going against infernal
got him to 80% health before he got me
even with 2 minions and infernal surrounding me and having 43% smashing/lethal defence if he was lucky enough to hit me twice before my regen got me to a decent amount of hp i would go down, so i was considering aid self to fill that hole but i would like to get some advice/comments on my current build
funny enough i was able to solo a MA mission made soley of lvl 54 tank smashers and noise tanks but i guess they dont compare
FYI, the empty slot in sweeping strike is that chance for - res IO that came with i14

i doubt anyone will read this but i thought i would update anyway
i tried infernal again, went much better but the results were the same
this time i popped one purple just to push me into the soft cap defence and what a difference it made, i even managed to accidentally spawn 15 or 20 demons and had all my toggles drop after hitting conserve power to late and still managed to stay alive
i got him down to about 25% health before the purples ran out
anyway this has opened my eyes, the regen i have was fine for when i got hit, i just need to squeez more defence in there

Same that I said to Werner build, it´s looks like 400 Million build, i thought with 1.000 Millions i can defeat an Av even with a Tanker (some Av).
I thought in a build spending 100 or 200 million with a good choice of powersets and powerpools you can defeat an Av.
