  1. thanks, although im considering whether to stay on defiant or leave for union, im not quite sure yet
  2. basically i played on defiant for a couple of years, took a 1 year break then came back recently because of new content but my old SG is pretty much dead and the only teams i could get were from defiant events (which is great btw) but i would like a active SG to do regular missions with even if its RP or whatever, im just sick of playing alone with the occasional TF thrown in

    even before logging in a can tell union is more active, (2 yellow dots instead of 1 green) so im hoping a active SG or even a regular team will take pity on me and take me under there wing, all of my 50s and high level toons are on definat but i dont mind starting over as long as i can actually play with some people

    if not, i just wasted money reactivating and buying GR

    also, i already joined the active channels, union chat, union task force etc but...nothing yet

    AV Soloing

    i doubt anyone will read this but i thought i would update anyway

    i tried infernal again, went much better but the results were the same

    this time i popped one purple just to push me into the soft cap defence and what a difference it made, i even managed to accidentally spawn 15 or 20 demons and had all my toggles drop after hitting conserve power to late and still managed to stay alive

    i got him down to about 25% health before the purples ran out

    anyway this has opened my eyes, the regen i have was fine for when i got hit, i just need to squeez more defence in there

    AV Soloing

    I dont mean to thread jack but this seemed like the perfect place to post

    i have built a DB/WP made for soloing AV's among other things

    once the build was complete i tried going against infernal
    got him to 80% health before he got me

    even with 2 minions and infernal surrounding me and having 43% smashing/lethal defence if he was lucky enough to hit me twice before my regen got me to a decent amount of hp i would go down, so i was considering aid self to fill that hole but i would like to get some advice/comments on my current build

    funny enough i was able to solo a MA mission made soley of lvl 54 tank smashers and noise tanks but i guess they dont compare

    FYI, the empty slot in sweeping strike is that chance for - res IO that came with i14

    i've gotten messages like that before and it only took repeat log-in attempts to solve also, i havnt been in game today so i didnt get the in game maintenance message, i've looked on the forums and the only maintenance i see is the Play NC store (i probably missed it) and to top it off the server status page shows all servers running fine so no, the message isnt really clear, atleast for me

    is there maintenance i have failed to notice? server status says all of them are up so is the problem on my end?

    basically when i click on my character and hit "enter paragon city" i get "account ******** is not allowed on this server. reason: access to this server is rescricted etc......

    there hasnt been any announcements that i could find so what could be the problem?

  8. i've been gone from the game for about 6 months and came back recently, checked my farmer and everything seemed fine untill i got to the auction house and checked my stock to find everything is gone

    being a farmer i had purples ammong other rares in stock but i cant remember exactly what but i am 100% certain that i didnt leave it empty

    i have considered my account being hacked but then why leave the 320 million i had in influence? i have a second farmer who is in the same boat

    so whats the best course of action? contact a GM? a red name on these forums or can nothing be done?

    any useful help would be nice

    I have to disagree with this, having experienced the new MoG for and against me. yes, it does have a short duration but with 3 rechs and IOs (if u go that way) u can make it come back in seconds

    also, you can use MoG more creativly because of it shorter rech e.g your fighting a blaster, he pops aim + build up now here u can use MoG to soak the damage with its 75% resistance instead of taking full damage, thats just one example someone above alrdy mentioned another one

    so, IMHO it is far from useless or just an IO placer if you use it creatively and invest some rech IOs

  17. the thing im dissapointed about is the banes we get are nothing like the ones u fight in game in terms of survivability, the defence/resistance valus are so low that if our versions were the NPC's they would probably be farmed...well maybe not but you get my point...right?

    Also, im praying the Devs see the error of there ways and buff banes soon, i have no interest in the other VEATs so the banes are it for me

    The thing is i and many others realize that the banes are sub par compared to the other VEATS in defence and resistance and we were ok with that since our placate was so awesome now, like someone said we are gimped mace/EA stalkers with no heal and no tier 9.

    and the worst thing for me is i dont really like any of the other VEAT's so much and yes i have tried them all(the crab is ok) my bane on test was where i felt at home and now hes worthless unless i spend millions on rech IOs, defence, resistance and even then, those same IOs on any other VEAT would be better

    i doubt the devs check the EU forums much if at all but if one happens to see this please do something for the banes and possibly fortunatas, the defender version of Will domi would be nice (i had to get that in there :P)

    The thing is NW use more end and have larger recharge times then banes on the attacks so it kinda evens them selfs out
    also, i have a bane on test at lv 36 and a NW on live at 28 and from a personal preference i enjoyed the bane far more, i got the same feeling of SMASH that i get eith brutes .

    the problem with the NW for me was even with one recharge in every attack and mental training my attack chain was very slow and everyone noes lethal is resisted more often then smashing and it showed as i was leveling.

    And to those who say "i'm not trying banes till they get buffed/someone makes an ultimate build all i can say is try it out first and come to your own conclusions

    At present I'm looking at rolling a Crab Spider. Fortunas and Widows don't interest me much; although that's probably more to do with me already having a Spines/DA, a "Sapper", and a Stalker.

    I'd had my eye on Banes since hearing about the VEATs, but in my opinion they're simply too squishy now ever since their Placate's recharge time was tripled . They are mostly single-target melee damage, but they now lack the mitigation necessary to go toe-to-toe with (or in many cases even kite) Bosses or EBs.

    At the moment an EM/Regen /WP or /Ninjitsu Stalker with the Mace patron is better in virtually every respect than a Bane Spider: far higher ST damage, more survivable, and just as much mob "lockdown". The only real thing they have going for them is the allied buffs, which Crabs can do just as well if not better (better because Crabs can stay in one spot near their teammates whilst fighting whereas Banes need to be more mobile to rehide and inflict their melee damage).

    Crabs on the other hand I quite like the look of. They are much better suited to AoE damage and Ranged damage than Banes, and with both a Dull Pain clone and a Resistance toggle they're considerably more survivable. They also get access to exactly the same pet "layout" as Masterminds: three -2s (Spiderlings), 2 -1s (Disruptors) and an even-level (Patron Pet), and their Leadership powers will boost the pets' survivability as well as that of their teammates. The fact that most of their damage is of a fairly unresisted type and they have a regular "Nuke" is a bonus.

    Right now I'm planning to roll a Crab Spider specced for AoE damage and Pet control. An AoE attack chain of Aim + Venom Grenade + Elec Fences + Frag Grenade + Ball Lightning inflicts about 585 Damage straight-up and 760 Damage after factoring in the 40% -resistance debuff. Pet damage and ST damage blasts are icing.

    Fully IO'ed up with Hasten running (8 Second Downtime) there is around a 20 Second downtime on Patron Pet/Disruptors, 60 second overlap on Spiderlings, 16 second overlap on Serum. "Blastermind"...

    hearing this banes dont seem so awesome anymore, without a quicker placate they have become weak, they already so less damage then a stalker, have little defence (without ANY defence resistance) no heal, the only thing they have going is passive mez protect with a KB hole

    i hope they get a buff in another area otherwise its fortunata's and crabs for me when live hits

    and your right about banes, ive tried crabs and banes at around the same lvl and i enjoyed the banes so much more, the SMASH feeling you get from the banes is really nice, add the damage they do with the cool costume and its all good

    my only complaint is the defence, i have thought about an IO build for him and i could probably get him soft caped in ranged defence but im not to sure about melee &amp; AoE

    after 35 lvl's of using him, im impressed
