costume test room before accept and pay inf

When I buy my new costume tailor and move back in to make changes in color or otherwise.
Is very expensive.
I would like to be able to move inside the tailor room for two minutes before you pay.

Bit of care before you hit the pay button makes this unnecessary.

Well... There is that and the fact that inf is so easy to get these days that any costume change is really not a problem when it comes to the cost.

/cranky old voice
Why... Back when I was young I often payed over 4million for a single costume.

check the new costume in motion (or with some power) is always better.
Usually i can see detail unimaginable.

Now that is something.
Being able to select different emote/pose while editing the costume.
Or perhaps better lightning in the window aswell... And background.

Happened to me as well. What looks good stationary can look horrific in action. Such an option is a good I could approve of.

had it happen plenty of times get the costume looking just like and hit pay and discover that the in game lighting makes it look totally different or that some power animations look just plain weird.

a small try out room with one a couple of target-able dummies (one friend one Foe) for trying out powers would be perfect.

That would be fine if what we saw in the costume designer bore more relevance to what we actually get when we've accepted the change.

^ This. The camera angle is limited, the light only looks the same in one place, and thats right under one of the lamps in Pocket D (e.g. too damn bright)
Some upgrades to the costume system would be nice

Create a new character with the costume, save it, and see it in action in outbreak.

Or stick it on an NPC in the MA (after issue 14) and see it from the outside.

I really should do something about this signature.

One word; Hassle

CoX has a great costume designer, better than arguably any other out there. Why should compromises be made on one of CoX's greatest selling points?

Also that would involve having a free costume slot to create a character in and you would have access to unlockable costume parts.

Test server. Now we have the costume files, you can copy them freely between the costume folder on live and test clients.

What about those of us who don't have/don't want the Test Client, Ly?

Test server would work but its a bit of a long way round to load game go to icon, design costume, save costume, quit icon, quit game, go search for correct file, move file to training room, copy character, load training room, discover characters not copied yet, twiddle thumbs till character copy works.

Plus there's the possibility that your costume wont load on the test server, that the test server is down or that the character copy tool is down

Cant see this as any big issue tbh, you get a good preview already that should be enough.

Yes, it's long-winded, but it's just another option in your pocket. It depends how badly you want to hang onto your inf or costume change tokens if you have them.

Mess, you needn't copy your character over unless you want to keep any unlocked weapons and aura options they have. The costume file saves all options on your char including scaling, so you could just open the character creation screen, click load and your char is there.

Alph, people who don't want the test client don't have to have it. They will just have to put up with the cost of making tiny changes each time, the same as many others surely must.

auras are most likely why i would be testing out a costume or with a certain power and for both of these i would need my original character but yes for bog standard costume options a simple copy of the costume file would work.

After my SG came up with a 'uniform' concept, it took me a while to make one that looked good. Not wanting to spend the INF I was saving for IO's, I used 3-4 costume change tokens just getting it right, because "it didn't look right in motion".

Remember - the costume designer is quite dark - I find designing darker costumes on it is quite hard. Also, seeing your character fly (in poses), run, and yes, perform emotes, would certainly help you 'test' your costume.

I think this is a good idea, thus:

And then of course, it's not just costume auras. Power Auras can ruin a good costume. I once designed a great 'urban' costume for my Regen Scrapper, took her outside, switched on Integration and found that the green of the aura rendered the costume a disgusting muddy brown and green mess.

I have used the test server to try out costumes but it does seem a long winded way round the problem.

So yes, having the cost applied on maybe exiting the Tailor would be a better way of doing things.

Exactly! I have spent a lot of influence for nothing or only for test.
I believe that the change is very useful and very easy.
The costume is the most important thing for me, but is a personal opinion.
Post scriptum: Hopefully in the next issue is there are new costumes too because I have not read anything about.
