Must be something around an hour or two.. I turned in some Salvage on a Widow about 10 minutes after a Zombie Invasion, and nothing happened.

If anyone hasn't figured it out yet turning salvage triggers it. Tested on villains, invasion in zulu and mercy. Heroes, invasion in faultline and ?(didnt have villain events on that toon)
If its a case of turning salvage into an extra costume slot it must not trigger every time, I did it earlier and waiting over an hour, no zombie invasion 
Was it night time in game? Had there been an invasion already?
I traded in three sets of Halloween salvage tonight on Union. Not with the main intention of testing this, but because I've been busy all November and am only just now coming back to the game to use all the salvage I acquired.
The first one at 8pm- it was apparently night-time at the time (according to somebody on a global channel who noticed when I mentioned it) but I'd only just logged in so no idea when the last invasion was. Instant zombies, the second I clicked.
Second one, an hour later (but apparently not night-time- I still wasn't paying attention) - no zombies.
Half an hour later- definitely in-game night time- no zombies.
Jury's still out I guess!

1 invasion per night(in game) is my theory.
I had been told that running Katie Hannon tf should trigger zombies invasion, but I did it last night and nothing special happened after the team leader called the contact... I stayed online for half an hour more, selling and buying at Wentworth's but as I said, nothing happened.
EDIT: it happened in Defiant.

I checked when I went to trade salvage for a new halloween slot. No idea when the last invasion was but there started one in skyway the instant I had made my slot.
