my votes for union legends would have to be:
Clipse: For all his awesome costumes (yes every single one is awesome), is the undisputed cossie contest king on union.
Globey/rent: Personally i dont know them but they must be legends with the amount of people iv heard talk about them in a positive way about their pvp exploits.
Mothers Love: For the reasons you stated above.

Pious : Big contributor to the RP community
Globey: Although i have a feeling Globey dont like rp (and i do).. he is good at what he does in PvP.
FFM (Floating Fat Man): Not played much with you (i think), but you have contributed with so much fact here on the forums (and when i look at rp).
Lost Samurai has been mentioned allready. I will not forget the first Hami raid after issue 9

(This kind of topic is fluid as there are always people each week who catch my eye, but here is who I will say has made an impression in my 16 months here)
1-Mothers Love;
Always knocking around atlas/RV/union channels offering advice, assistance, and the occasional smutty wit (you know you do mumsie 
)
2-FFM;
Now I can safely say I have never come across FFM as I am merely a casual (even rarer than that) RP'er in fact I tend to hang around GG only when cooling down from a day of grinding....but FFM is well known throughout and more so on the forums, many of his posts are usually quite concise and non-ranty..
3-Dustified;
Max Carnage boss and regular to atlas, I have teamed a few times with dusty and to me he is a good player to stand behind..ahem..team with
4-Tsumiju Zero;
Many a mothership raid with this katana weilding maniac has gone smoothly, he has a somewhat disturbing fervor when it comes to spanking rikti, nevertheless a good team leader to run raids in the old hami-heal-bubble en masse maneauver.
5-Globey/Rooks etc;
Some of those guys were in the Art of War before I joined and theres a lot of good things I hear about them, I did many months back - attempt to take on globey in RV with my new shiney 50 scrapper (was a little green in pvp at the time) I believe I lasted 0.001 of a second...quite good I think ...as for Rooks I believe theres no one else who has more healing powers than jesus, but then again old J.C probably wasnt slotted with I.O's as much
6-Clipse;
Goes without saying, good friends with this idiot..ahem I mean player, many a close cossie contest with either me or him edging each other out, though I have to say imho he does have a distinct style which many have copied, though in my eyes it is a compliment of sorts, if you are reading this Adz, I bow to you...my number one fan
7-Salacious;
Number one badge primo and channel silencer extraordinaire ...a good player with a wealth of badge related knowledge always willing to help others.
8-Damz;

This one is a personal choice ....For those of you who dont these two old farts - ahem "experienced players" I have had the pleasure of being in their company for over a year now in my tenure at AoW and amongst other regular sg members i have to say here and now you wont find a more accomodating and generous set of blokes, always willing to lay down their own toons advancement to help others so much I feel selfish just for leveling a toon at times, though to be fair I get to laugh regularly at Eros' many faceplants, so many now it has become a mini legend amongst the sg....heres to you you old fogeys, ill buy you a new stairlift when the base salvage becomes cheaper
There are many other notable mentions, regular players, rp'ers etc such as Kitsu/Ravenswing/Napalm Bomb/Magma Man etc etc but ill be here all day otherwise

Was chatting with Damz in Atlas after a particuliarly good session of Zombie Gutting and the topic of this thread came up! In passing conversation we likened having these "Signature characters" of Union in a story arc together, kind of like a player made freedom phalanx...
was wondering if we could get something together story wise for mission architect, for submission as a group perhaps?
and another mention for ArmourGeddon, who is normally found smack dab in the middle of ANY fight or raid of note

Zortel! THE RPer, in my opinion! Once ran an RP scene where she played about 12 characters at once, and one of my best friends. Has caused the phrase, "Pulling a Z" to be fairly common parlance in RP, at least for the GG crowd anyway, and also help run the Union roleplayers wiki.

Damz contacted me yesterday evening and asked what I thought about the Union Legends/Phalanx Storyarc Idea.
I think its a fantastic idea that could make good use of our character's historys and be a fine addition to the player-led lore of these characters on the Union server for everyones enjoyment. Looking forward to chipping in with ideas when this thread pops up on the Union section of the forums.

Ok in relation to the ideo of a union legends story arc, i was talking to zero yesterday with the possibility of two arcs running side by side.
This idea was from a thread in the suggestions section about multiple teams needed for a tf. Obviously we wont have that technology available to us in the MA, but what we will have access to is enough to make it seem like multiple teams are taking place.
The idea is to create two taskforces (arcs), each running along the same timeline/period. So for example TF 1 would have the team (in one mission) creating a distraction by attacking the enemies base so that TF 2 would have the time to rescue a union legend. Just a small example (and obviously wont be it) to make it feel that both TFs are tied together and would have npcs appearing in both reflecting on how the other TF is doing (since each TF's mission would be on the same scale/timeline it would seem like theyr being done at same time).
Cant really explain it at the moment, but again it was just a small example of what we feel could be achieved to make an arc that gives credit to the people who have made union special.

as i was reading over this thread i learned something about myself i have spent way to much time on the red side of the good v evil devide way to much over the past year or so, i used to pride myself in recognising most of the well known people about and barely recognise most the people mentioned so far apart from the forums regulars
but my contribution is mothers love, FFM lost samurai and zortel for all the reasons listed above

Right - we need to make sure the Devs see this so they can make this happen for real - just leave a new badge that can't be stolen "Badgecrime Victim" or maybe award another one that appeared around about Easter that no-one has been able to earn and even devs lose when they zone.

I was inspired during conversation today, about past and current Hero's, people that stick out in your mind for various reasons, that have become "legends" amongst the playerbase!
For example;
Mothers Love for her constant empathing, Salacious for his badge addiction, Lost Samurai for the Hami raids and many many others. I'm not proposing a ego thread, but I do believe we have some really great Hero's on Union and it would be nice to hear about them more often
