We can pretty much guarentee PvP will not be the same as we know it. I think its fair to expect people to talk about it.

Yeh. I am currently trying to keep an optimistic view of the changes.

Either way it does seem pvp is going to be a hugely different game after i13.

These will never end up as the final numbers unless all the "damage ATs" are getting seriously buffed. I mean, a grav/rad with perma AM and assault (+ possible set bonuses) will deal insane burst damage.

Let's say, both hold and propel are slotted for 95% damage.

Gravity Distortion: 150.15 * (1 [Base] + 0.95 [Enhancements] + 0.2 [AM] + 0.15 [Assault]) = 345
Propel: 287.18 * (1 [Base] + 0.95 [Enhancements] + 0.2 [AM] + 0.15 [Assault]) * 2 [Containment] = 1320

Going by those numbers Propel seems quite nasty and that is without any outside +damage buffs or +damage from set bonuses. Even if the hold lasts 1 second it is enough to kick off Containment. Basically at least grav controllers will be 2-3 hitting folks depending on how quick they are at using insps and if they have any resistance buffs.

Common sense tells me that these won't be the final numbers that will go through Test untouched.

Unless you think balancing the whole power from its activation time is a perfect idea. Ignore all endurance/recharge stuff, yeah!

Some clever guy on the US boards has suggested that these huge PvP changes don't go live with i13 but stay on test for a good while longer to get fully tested.

I think this is a fantastic idea. I don't want the dev team rushing these changes through just to get i13 out quicker so remove the changes from the issue please

Yer i really hope these changes dont happen(silly if they would tbh) since they would loose a ALOT off the pvpĀ“rs (the very few thats left). To many has allready left

I hope to see these changes as soon as possible. We don't know how this new system works right now, we know only few things and we can't judge them without knowing all the changes. We have to wait until Castle releases the official PvP list to think about it, and even then I'm sure the devs know what they are doing, so if they decide to release this new system with Issue 13, go for it! If they don't, how do you will call this Issue, Issue 13: Responsibility? Also, many, many people I know are waiting for PvP rebalancing, and if the devs will not release these changes for Issue 13, they will leave this game for sure. And I don't want that.
Btw, from what I heard, I like all the changes they are doing, and simply I can't wait for them

Without the burst damage of blasters this is going to make empaths even more overpowered and team matches much lower scoring . .

You think the devs don't know that? Maybe buffs will be rebalanced too, who knows .... nothing official as been released yet, except few things, and you can't compare these few things with the current game mechanics

As long as it doesn't go from simple speculation into making assumptions based on limited information . Former is fine, latter not so fine ... given that, well, you *can't* get all the information from the character creation screens. I believe Castle's working on a PvP changes article similar to the recent PvE article. I'd save the assumptions and number crunching etc until at least after that document is released.

I bet you the controller damage buff is because they won't get containment in PvP anymore.


One thing is certain, sets that are currently good in PvP will be hit hardest by any nerfs.
