Yes - but the OP suggestion was somewhat easy to object to... I thought we'd all moved on to discussing the better ideas raised by GG (i.e. of being able to lose invasions - having NPCs clear up the mess over a slightly longer period).

Maybe most were still on about the OP... only polite I guess.

The Rikti invasions, after the badges, and except for getting merits in a really lazy fashion, are boring. Nobody bothers with them, they make your mobs vanish for hunts/TFs/Badges. (Numina, Sharkhead Sf, any treespecs). Thus potentially displacing pre-planned things for people, by forcing an all day long very very boring waste of time.

Mobs wont be around if the existing code is used.

Just no. Let's leave the Rikti invasions to die and become a novelty, and bring some fresh ideas in.

That's your justification for suggesting the possiblity of an all day invasion? /em slowclap. I realseid that, I emboldened the bit I disagreed with.

As to allowing other mobs to exist during invasions, and the ships flying off if there aren't enough people...how long until that? How many people? When after the badge, i've gone after the bombs/rikti with just 3 others...is that too little to defend the zone from invaders?

It would have to be very well done...and I personally see no real reason to do so. The horse has been flogged. Leave it

the rikti aren't funny anyway, they barely give EXP and there power is just to strong for someone who just began playing.(or a new character for that matter)

No thanks. When there's an invasion I either log or move to another zone to play. I don't like them at all.

But on topic, the invasion idea I meant would only last an hour or so max - by having a limited number of Rikti mobs - say 20 - who remained in an occupied zone, but having unlimited Vanguard patrol spawns, the zone would eventually be retaken even if no player Heroes showed up.
The patrols would follow a set route, like the Longbow ones in Atlas Park and Galaxy City, and the Rikti mobs would be spaced along the route, so there'd be no danger of the patrols not being able to find the last couple of mobs and fail to retake the zone.

I actually enjoyed it more when the mobs stuck around during the invasion, simply because the Rikti would aggro anything and everything around them.

Remember playing one on villainside, fighting off a small invasion force to see several Rikti fly past me, turn around and they'd aggroed a Deathsurge who was taking them apart with glee...I fled the scene knowing once he was finished with the Rikti, that Deathsurge would come after me since I was just that tad too close to him.

Had a similar experience tho in my case it was about 20 villains Vs Rikti Vs Death surge was great fun

How about a whole knew zone! Where villains and heroes can fight along side and fight rikti!

Oh wait thats the Rikti Invaision map....

How about a new map! Where heroes and villains can transport to the rikti home planet or just have an epic space battle. Villains and Heroes can choose to fight along each other or fight against each other.. and also include a Rival system.. where vills and heroes who have to fight along each other can only use their level 1 power against their rival, that's if they were teaming with each other.."

Jumping Bananas! Id find that kinda fun =D

Why not add more badges, 100, 1000 and 100000 bog standard zombies/rikti, 100, 1000, and 100000 lieutenants, 100,1000, and 100000 bosses. Then 100, 1000 and 100000 bombs.

I'm sure people would stop farming them after a while, but they might join an opportunistic attack which occurs near them.

At the moment people get the badges and then whinge about the invasions once they have them all.

Im still trying to get all the Invasion badges on a coupla of toons, namely cos I cant find/kill the bombs and the EBs refuse to spawn =[ Feh.

EBs only spawn when

1) You have sufficent strength of defenders in the area

2) The previous wave has been almost (but not quite) completly wiped out.


I really should do something about this signature.

This may be a myth, but from what one team I was in figured out, you need to have a full group to spawn the suits.

Yes, that's probably a myth. They're only EBs, they're tough but you don't need a full team to take them down, so I doubt they only spawn them for full teams.
