Omega Sector Questions

Just goes to show how things can change suddenly, Clearly just 2 days ago Rockjaw wasn't aware of what was about to happen. Damn shame.

You're right, Hairness. Damn right!

If due to the shake up OmSec isn't happening as a NCE event, then we should make it our event. Get on the phone to Steven at Omega Sektor, hammer out something, and go there!

INdeed, why let the bad news of yesterday cripple the plans. I'm up for the player run event in OS, and if we were to do it it would probably need planning beginning now :P

I'll learn!

I read about the down sizing at work today and I am SO sorry for you folks. I wish you all well and I hope you find your ways. It is a sign of the times thou.
As for doing it ourselves I would suggest we wait and see if this NCSoft West will plan to do it. I would assume they will be interested in keeping the current player base. But whether it is NCSoft (or NCWest) or player run I think you will be there.

Okay, so maybe it won't be an NCsoft organised event, but why in the world would that stop us, the Players? I assume everyone who went last year plans to go next year, so why don't we just all pile up there and make it a player-run event instead? We've been shown the way by the Community Team, it should be easy enough to follow in their footsteps as that very community.

What say you all?

Well said that man!, If NCwest don't step up to the plate in supporting the EU community in at least the same capacity come April....I'm in.

I agree with Hairy, Z & Delph. I was totally looking forward to the next OS. If it gets announced they won't be doing OS next year we should totally organise it ourselves!

Agreed, even if I can't organise my way out of a paper bag.

I have organised player meets before - although this would be way bigger than anything I have ever done!

With the loss of the community team and the Omega Sektorian (slight exaggeration, I know, GR) it ain't looking good.
Sad to see you go, nice Mr Green-name, you made last Easter very special.

Slight?!? Rockjaw and Aero no longer being with us does not - of itself - mean that the proposed Omega Sektor event for next year won't happen. We've still got a quite sizeable and talented community team (especially given they weren't actually a part of the Community team ). It's really too early to say one way or the other right now, however if there's a way for it to happen I'll be doing my darnedest to find it!

Please do GR really want to come back to Omega Sektor for the next player meet

Shame, really... Not long after last Easter Omega Sector 2009 was 95% sure, now....?
Nice to hear you want to make it happen GR, but... just a shame you can't back that up with the company. (at this time)

I hope Steve and Chris will make it to OS, even if it's just as guests (though preferably on the bridge of that cruise ship)

I think one of the reasons people want to know and plan for/not for now GhostRaptor is that we like to put plans in place in advanced. I know I'd want to book my train tickets and hotel at the earliest opportunity, a friend of mine needs to book time off work, and I need to lavish gifts on my mum for being absent during her birthday. :P

This is quite the financial investment for some people. I know I'll probably blow several months checks on this, okay, I don't have that many hours at work, but still, and what with people flying over from the mainland... it's good to know that there's a good chance things won't go Pete Tong.

My question to NCsoft is that now that you have canned a fair chunk of our EU.community team, and players are rallying round to provide for each other....

Where are NCsoft?, what are they going to do for the EU.community? You give U.S players Hero-Con!, will we be seeing Hero-Con over here at any stage?, ...in fact are you going to do anything for us your supporting EU.subscribers?

As if there weren't enough great reasons to come to Hero-Con '08, now when you attend the event, you will have the option to join future closed betas! Given the timing of Hero Con this may include Issue 13 closed beta, but will also include access to the future closed beta of Issue 14!

Attend the banquet dinner, with entertainment and exclusive upcoming announcements.

Quite honestly I would jump at a chance of something like this being attended by you all of you the EU.players.

Are there only the three guys in the community team (GR, Paladium and K)? I always got the impression there were a few more in the background? I’d hate to think of the work load if it is only those guys and especially if K goes.

The surviving EU.team should be getting support for both the organisation and funding as far as I'm concerned. There is no excuse for the shocking disparity between the events offered to the U.S and the complete lack of over here in the EU.

I have to say after reading the U.S Hero-Con description I felt completely taken for granted as a subscriber contributing to NCwest's banquet. Not amused.

Yeah - but the US felt the same after hearing about this years Omega Sektor.

Damn!, there was a banquet at Omega Sektor? ...bother!, missed that one!.

Seriously though, I hope NCwest gets behind providing some support for our EU.events. Since centralisation of the company for the western audience has been decided upon I hope we will see some improvements. Unfortunately to date NCNC seem very willing to put on an great expo as long as they don't have to travel very far. *Note: this is not a direct critique of NCNC in the past but American companies in general as Cryptic are also putting on lots of events (as part of existing Conventions and seperately) for the burgeoning Champions-Online market in their backyard but absolutely nothing EU.side.
