At the time I purchased the game, I wasn't aware there was an US version. If I had then I might have signed up for that version.

Therefore don't the EU players, who like me were not aware of the choice, deserve to have the choice?

[/ QUOTE ]

Then contact support and they'll create a US Account for you... but don't count on your toons being transfered over.

If, just an "if" mind, "if" there wasn't an issue with player numbers in the EU - why would there be plans for a marketing campaign?

[/ QUOTE ]

WoW has marketing campaigns too

[ QUOTE ]
Could it be that the Dev want to see more players in the game, or just that they want more money?

[/ QUOTE ]

Uh, I think those two are kinda related

I mean - that game has run for 4 years with the need for one. So why now?

Could it be that the Dev want to see more players in the game, or just that they want more money?

[/ QUOTE ]

Why has WoW just ran a massive ad campaign? Surely they shouldn't have a problem with player numbers.

You do - buy the US version. Not a great choice, but a choice nonetheless.

[/ QUOTE ]

And waste 4yrs worth of subs? I don't recall those US to EU movers losing there Vets or Badges? So why should I?

But we know they can provide it.

[/ QUOTE ]

I tend to think legally they are not in a position to do so though

Ten million players IIRC. Definitely no need for advertisement.

They did, the US>EU Transfer wasn't available until a while after the EU Launch. These people opened EU accounts without any promise of a transfer in the future.

Because more revenue is always good?

[/ QUOTE ]

But then - havn't we been told that "numbers are at an all time high"???

If numbers have been increasing to these new hights then why spend massive amounts of money when you don't need too?

[/ QUOTE ]

Because no matter how much money a company makes, more money is always better

Blizzard are "doing ok" - but they seem to want more cash all the same

Take it you don't watch much tv then, they've employed I think 8 stars from Mr T to MiniMe to talk about playing WoW in a series of tv ads.

You asked for a choice. I gave you the only choice currently available and likely ever available. Boo friggin hoo. (My apologies, but WAR still has my blood boiling).

I've never said I wouldn't buy a US account. I'm saying that "if" I had a US account I should be offered the choice to move my toon across.

Based on what?

AFAIK they have never moved any characters from the EU servers to the US server, I have certainly never read about it happening, here or anywhere else including the US forums. They have been known to swap accounts round if you bought the wrong one, or as the case of a Aussie player I spoke to once who bought the US but wanted the EU (to play with friends) and got his US account closed and a EU account opened, fairly sure I have read of the opposite too. (EU to US for an Aussie player.)

However I still wonder why you 'know' that they can provide a transfer of characters from EU to US?

I've just thought of something.

Here I am trying to suggest a server transfer tool.

And you lot are trying to point out it's not needed. Why?

I mean - one person wanting something is a demand (a small demand granted). So there is a demand for it.

I can't think of any reason why you lot are dead against the idea, unless your worried that people would up and leave the EU, and that might effect the population numbers.

So even though you're Lost, you can still find?

Because: Until now, NCNC have not had the financial resources to market the game as effectively as they might

Because: Champions Online will be arriving soon as will DCU. It's therefore a sensible time to get the biggest and best Superhero MMO smack bang in front of the punters eyes.

Because: When you can do the marketing, you should because it will generate additional revenue, strengthening your business and product lifespan.

Because: NCNC is not a charitable organisation and have invested a considerable amount in the game recently, including purchasing the IP, releasing I12 and developing I13, where these costs were previously split between NCSoft and Cryptic. They are fully entitled to look to increase the revenue the game generates for them.

Because: Marketing the game is far preferable to increasing the cost of subscription fees.

A TV is like a game, but you can't interact with it.
A WoW is a sort of infection that attacks the brain, reducing sufferers to a mindless, barely human shell.
