Themed SG uniforms?

I'm in two minds about the idea. I've seen it done, especially in the early days when there were only a few major SG's, and it can look fantastic. Have a look at the screenie Roentgen posted; that's just SG colours and chest detail, and it looks brilliant. To see a team in uniform always looks great.

However, ask a random selection of players what their favourite things about CoH is, and high on the list will always be the costume creator; the diversity of costumes is absolutely brilliant. To suppress that in favour of a uniform is almost criminal.

The closest TANC ever got was sometimes appearing sporadically in the SG colours, British racing green and cream.

I was in an SG called E.L.I.T.E. inc., and we had an SG uniform. It sucked and was a short lived idea though lol.

I'm pretty sure they are around, the Elflings have/had a sg costume(and requirements for characters(like the height and the ears, powersets were free choice if I remember correctly)) Don't know if they still exist.

[/ QUOTE ]

Yup we're still about and now in the process of taking under Union too

We did try the whole uniform thing briefly but considering it's nigh on impossible to get a bunch of Elflings to even stand in a straight line, getting them to all dress the same stood no chance!

So if are there any SG’s like that out there, I would love to hear about them. Or even themed SG’d you have been thinking of but that have not been started.

[/ QUOTE ]

Elflings have 4 rules for characters that join us. They have to do with look (pointy ears, green hair, minimal height) and name (surname "Elfling").
Was it anything like that you were thinking about?

Elflings been around for 3 years now and I've been posting on here a couple of times about themed groups with not much response.
In my time I've noticed some themed groups, that have been around for a little while, but then I've not heard more about them.
I remember seeing cows (people with while costumes with black dots on running around saying "moo" a lot), the Taxi chars who had yellow and black costumes and would offer TP service in Hollows, and briefly there were also a lot of bee chars around (yellow and black striped costumes).
Of course on villains there's a lot of smurfs, but I don't know if they are organised in a SG.

Oh... just remembered that we actually had a SG uniform at one time (it allowed a little freedom and looked different for men and women).
And in spite of the natural cheeky and anarchistic nature of elflings I actually managed to get a screenshot of some elflings wearing it, while standing in line!

Elflings behaving - you don't see that every day!

Oooh I love this. Sounds very interesting. I might just roll a Doll hero side on Union. The times are a bit late for me (NL), but I can always take a nap prior and set the alarm

I know that E.V.I.L (every villain is loveable iirc) on union had/has a uniform that a lot of members wear. It was also E.V.I.L that was behind the fire/rad superteam around 18 months ago I think. But unfortunatly I dropped out of that one at lvl 12.

There was a Thugs themed SG going around that started at the release on i7...

Although i've never seen any at specific SGs on heroes though... Not that I can remember anyway...

E.V.I.L. is still going strong .

Our cossie is not mandatory although is encouraged as always looks great when a number of you about e.g. RWZ raid.

Can see a screenshot of our cossie here - http://www.city-of-evil.net/portal/i...amp;pic_id=158

Mini group pic here - http://www.city-of-evil.net/portal/i...amp;pic_id=173

There are a number of other groups out there with cossies aalthough you don't really see too many (I guess people like being able to express themselves too much).

I know we are planning on doing another little themed team run soon. We are just finalising ideas based on an endurance draining superteam (we are leaning towards villains).

I know The Karma Police have an SG costume

and

The Cylon Invasion Force consists entirely of identical looking AR/Dev Blasters (apart from one, who is gold) with the same powers (apart from 1 or 2 'free choices'). It's a themed SG with pvp in mind.

Well if anyone is interested in the Reservoir Dolls they need to get in touch with one of the established members of the Femme Fatales SG (me, Snow, Steampunk on the official forums, or you can catch me online @Icenii and I'll hook you up with one of the inviters and will see what we can do).

The Dolls have been in existence for about a year and a half - two years now (I joined a year ago) and the higher members are all around level 42-43ish and doing the Praetorian Arcs. We adhere to a very strict dress policy and only accommodate AR/Dev blasters. Having said all that, so long as the requirements are met and we get to know you, we're always welcoming to new folk who share our inclination for girls and excessive violence applied precisely for the greater good

Precision Rangers had a red/white colour scheme but actual outfits could vary and we took in any blaster powerset. Was still impressive when we had a big turnout for a photo shoot - too bad I can't find the piccy.

There is still a core group of 1AT members on regularly and some of the coalition SGs are still sort of active - for example I keep Team GBH's (scrappers) base running.

UNION @Flitz 50, Lead Hose 50, Red Rag 50
DEFIANT Rose Bloodthorn 34
VIGILANCE Captain Caledonia 20 - Yeah, I made toons on the French server coz we only had 4 back then (might have to transfer/recreate them on one of the US servers)
..and many more!

The New Guardians stick with just using the SG colour scheme on your costumes when in SG mode, which can make a nice picture, as it allows individuality with shared colours, and you get a nice change to your original costumes.

We tend to stick with personal costumes, however. More of an 'Avengers individuality' than an 'X-Men team look'.
