Is I13 announcement this week?
Issue 7 was an awful lot of effort, unfortunatly much of it misdirected. Half the delay way them trying to get the shifting scenery in RV to work properly, which today is greatly appreciated by the tumbleweeds...
I really should do something about this signature.

Its still a shame that they messed it up and still havent fixed grandville....or lagsville.
As for issue 13 i just hope when it comes it gives us some much needed pvp and base content and not yet more zones that have nothing much in them (I12) or maybe even some good solid content with something more to do with lvl 50s.

Well, bases and base raids are going to be changed for sure - and I think that Cimerora might also get more content - maybe even using the huge TF maps - it seems a lot of effort to make those maps, and only have them used for one mission.

This... remember the debacle that was I7?
[/ QUOTE ]
For all the concern Destiny Manifest was Villain content heavy and the troubles with Grandville and Recluses Victory when they were new, I have to say I still maintain Issue 7 was somewhat underated as far as how much effort the Devs put into it, I mean lets not forget this was the issue all our mid-range slightly blurry textures were replaced with beautiful crisp High-res ones!. Fair bit of work that.
[/ QUOTE ]
I have no bones with the effort involved in I7. it had all the 40-50 villain content, patrons, etc. etc. etc.
What still makes me twitchy when I7 is mentioned was the sheer quantity of game breaking bugs (for me) that came with it, which made me give up on CoV for about 6 months after getting more and more frustrated while trying to play my Bots/Traps MM. There were a [u]LOT[u] of bugs that came with I7, a lot of which made the game all but unplayable. Random game Crash to Desktops when PPD Kheldians self rez, anyone? Items you need to destroy becoming untouchable whenever they got hit by the slightest amount of KB? 'Prevent X from escaping' missions auto failing when the named mob got hit by KB or immobilised? (not 100% sure on the Immob aspect of that bug any more, don't want it to reappear to find out, thank you very much) Pets running off into infinity through solid walls? etc. etc. etc.
A lot of the bugs I remember were ones that hit my aforementioned MM, so there will almost certainly have been others that didn't annoy me enough to consider logging off the game 5 minutes after logging in.
I7 *was* a debacle. I'll take my future issues when they're good and ready, thank you very much.
Warning:
The above post may contain Cynicism, sarcasm and/or pessimism. If you object to the quantities contained, then tough.

And I'm sure that has always been the aim of the devs and I'm not trying to hurry them along.
I bet if you asked them before I7 launched they'd have said that it was ready and they thought that they'd caught any big bugs... and compared to how totally broken the game could have been I guess that they may have.
I think the testing of issues has improved with the past 2 or 3 issues (although there's always room for improvement) and so I doubt that we'll see another I7.
Out of interest, does anyone know how stable the dev team was for doing I7?
Just wondering quite when the post-CoV-launch trimming of the team to 15 took place... it may be that I7 (a big issue by itself) was developed whilst the team was being reduced, which would have just added problems and uncertainty to the mix. Certainly wouldn't have helped get a bug-free issue developed smoothly.
A little different to the current scenario where a (supposedly) big issue is being developed whilst the dev team is growing in size. It's still creates some upheaval and added pressures, but doing any job whilst your team is growing is usually easier and a better atmosphere than doing it whilst your team is being decimated.

Agreed, Bugs there were - and they were there a-plenty in Issue 7.
I'll join you in saying I'll have the Issues when they are good and done as long as they stay roughly to the release schedule and listen to what the players actually want in-game over pvp tinkering content.
Basically you can plan all you want but I imagine sometimes even when you think you've finished an Issue off with precision and finesse, the community giving it a darn good thrashing out over on Test is still going to throw up bugs, conflicts and stuffery that just was just not anticipated.
Back to the OP i'd have to agree that the main teaser will be up late this week, early next.
The Internal Report detailing the main features of I13 has obviously been sent round to the uk to allow our mods to write up the EU versions of the Issue features for the website. (Thanks to GRs cryptic hints before last week)
This suggests that the new issue teaser is either close or it's a really big issue.

Thought I'd never see that line in this thread.
Wonder if the I12 feature of additional character slots was just because it's something that people have been wanting for a while or if it's because of I13+ expansion (moving to either new ATs, rogue or just massive power proliferation) meaning that your average player is going to want a lot more slots than just 12 per server to try out the new goodies?
[ QUOTE ]
it's a really big issue.
[/ QUOTE ]
You mean it's the City of Magazine Sellers expansion?
I suppose magazine seller would be one new AT to take up extra slots...

I'm not from Brighton if that's what you're asking.
Not sure if Brighton Man is slang though... maybe similar to being a San Franciscan or Philadelphian (low fat or otherwise).

Greek & Roman mythology has always provided half the storylines for modern tales of heroism. At least cimerora seems to be taking us closer to the well of furies and the established backstory of CoX rather than being a total rush thrown together since one of the devs got 300 on DVD...
[/ QUOTE ]
Emphasis mine, but that's a really good point and one I'd not considered. I also noticed yesterday that there's a whole shipyard out of range in there presumably available for future forays
[/ QUOTE ]
While I think Cimerora will get tied in with the Well of the Furies storyline, it actually ties in directly to the "Path of the Dark" story arc in CoH which tells of Nictus being active in the Roman era (and the expanded text of which can be read as one of the Midnighter Archivist clues in the Midnight Club).
Oh and that "whole shipyard out of range" thing you mention, you're not just looking at the island beyond the zone boundary near the Midnighter cave where you enter Cimerora, are you? The one with the temple on top and the ship in the cave underneath? If that's the one you mean, then it's actually the destination of the very first mission on the ITF - you zone-in on that ship and gradually work your way up through the island to the temple.

Which I think they might open up sometime - it seems like an enormous amount of effort just for one mission - plus, it's rather unusal to have parts of a zone blocked off like that.

My idea would be something like:
I13: Ragnarok
The promised Coming Storm is here, and the fate of not merely civilisation but the Earth - all the Earths - hangs in the balance. Hero, villain, humans and aliens must band together to fight a new, seemingly unstoppable threat...
- Shivan invasions... and worse things.
- Unified world: players can roll any class of toon and start either in Paragon or the Rogue Isles, but can travel freely between the two.
- How people react to you is based on a "Light Side/Dark Side" meter, and uses the new branching dialogue system. Do good deeds, you get access to more Hero contacts. Do bad things, you lose access to them but gain more Villainous contacts (and the PPD start shooting at you). Also your adoring public react with shock and confusion at your switch to evil/good. Some arcs should require both to complete.

Is it time for the dance of joy yet?
Perhaps, but oooh, it would be nice

I think, could b wrong, that the ship yard is somewhere you see when completing all the cimeroa content.
Oh and BTW what is 300?
THIS! IS! 300!
Very silly movie about 300 naked, sweaty, shouty bearded people in suspect leather straps fighting off a million-strong army.

I13: The Flames of Heck!
One contact in atlas park, with a repeatable mission to arrest hellions (levels 1-5)
One exploration badge in atlas park next to the new contact "I survived Issue 13"
A Co-op zone called "The White Heck", which is basically a textureless white flat zone without any content. Except a Hellion giant monster, which looks like a standard hellion thug. Doesn't give badge due a bug that is promised to be fixed some time in the near future.
