Costume Delay
/signed, I can only assume it was put in initially to stop people spam-changing, but I'd like to see it gone.
I've foolishly changed to the wrong costume before. /signed
I'd love to have no delay and be able to do a proper magical-girl transformation sequence.
For some reason I have it in the back of my head that they said long-ago (when I was still on the US servers), that there was some vague technical reason for the delay. I'm hoping that I'm just misremembering though, so

2) people who have set thier costumes to Transform/Shapeshift in different stages can no longer do this
3) Setting macro's to certain powers can get tricky now as the delay has stopped the macro if more than one power is activated within 30 seconds
[/ QUOTE ]
And never could with the 30s rule being in the game from the start. (Well since they added extra costume slots anyway.)
Don't get me wrong I'd like to see it gone I just find your above reasoning flawed.
Humm... I seem to recall there was no delay when they first put it in on test server, but people changing costumes every second caused some tremendous lag. So they put in the 30 sec downtime to prevent that. It's there for a reason, cause there will always be some jackasses who will cause grief for others any way they can.
And like Lost Ninja said... the 30 sec delay been there forever, you make it sound like they just patched it in.
If it was there first.. and lag was the issue.. Maybe its obsolete now then. As were so many years and hardware upgrades further.
With current internet speeds... does this lag still is there?

i would imagin it probably is as the servers have only been upgraded the once (as far as i can remember)
The reason why I say NOW is because i didnt know when the patch came in (I was away from the game for half a year a few months back) but as Liz said, it could possibly be obsolite by now.

i think a 5-10 delay is enough, just to remove the spam but make it a bit better the same time.

There's a suggestion I can /sign - sounds reasonable to me.

Assuming you didn't start playing until the EU launch then it has always been in for you. The delay was added when they added the ability to change costumes and indeed have more than one which was something like i1/i2... EU launched with i3.
Maybe I just didnt notice it before, anyway, but thats not the topic, like sorudo said the delay should be about 5 seconds, that seems more reasonable to me

4) when you accidentaly change your costume you must wait and suffer a full 30 seconds of humiliation before you can cover up your mistake.
[/ QUOTE ]How do you accidentally change costume? as you have to type /cc*, unless you have a costume change bind/macro set to a prime key! which then beggars the question .... why?
You all make 30 seconds sound like such a hardship! I would imagine most people's average gametime (per session) to be 1-2 hours at least, so what's 30 seconds hardship of wearing your skimpy speedos.
Simple way to get around the "accident" is to set key binds or macros to numpad keys, as these generally aren't hit by accident.
But to go against the flow, I would say /unsigned.

It's an option in the keybinds? You accidentally type in /cc 1 instead of /cc 0?
I've always had my first four costumes set to each of the 4 arrow keys - still haven't defined the 5th one though.

I think the delay is there because if several people in the same map start to change continuously their costumes they are creating a constant data stream to the server and to ALL gamers in the zone. That could create lag and slow down the server (imagine: 2 changes/second x 50 gamers = 100 unnecessary and stupid operations/second)
Then they could do the timeout like on chat where you repeat something over and over very fast and you cant speak for 2 mins, they can apply the same for costume spammers

What I at least one to see is a stupid bug fixed.. You can place slot 0-3 on keybinds in the option menu. But you can't place the 5th slot. They hasnt added that one in the option menu when it came available.

You can keybind it manually though... /bind <key> /cc 4 should do it.

Because on the Menu, there's a little button called Costume which shows you all your costumes. Click one, and you get it on. But you might press the wrong one which usually happens with me. So I find it a bit annoying.

I know.. that still doesnt change the fact that the fifth line should be there... It may be an oversight but it is not correct. And I would like to have it bound to NmLck + 5 if that is possible.

On my winged-flying characters, I use a bind that toggles fly and the first two character slots to hide & show wings - the 30 second delay is total pain... I usually end up running around with my wings out! (Oh! The embarressment!)
...so I /sign, even reducing to a 10 second delay would be a big improvement.
I think we should get rid of the costume changing delay, its starting to get annoying and I have found 4 reasons why to get rid of it
1) when changing your costume quickly at the tailor/facemaker and moving onto the next one, it delays the time causing you to wait longer.
2) people who have set thier costumes to Transform/Shapeshift in different stages can no longer do this
3) Setting macro's to certain powers can get tricky now as the delay has stopped the macro if more than one power is activated within 30 seconds
4) when you accidentaly change your costume you must wait and suffer a full 30 seconds of humiliation before you can cover up your mistake.
you can come up with more if you like, but I'm hoping that we can get rid of this troublesome waiting period once and for all!
